  1. It really does play mind games- I still don't see myself as tiny as I am. I can buy shirts out of the freaking kids department. But- I've also had 3 kids- so I wasn't expecting perfection and I still look at myself and say- I might not me able to wear a bikini, but damn I look a lot better than I did at 248lbs! I don't know if this helps- but here's where I am- 3 months after a baby skin wise. And as far as clothes go- no matter your size- not everything is going to flatter your figure- I just rock a lot of a line dresses even maxi dresses with a yummy tummy pair of undies. It is light and works well. I wear shorts and shorter skirts and tighter tops- I've just found what hides my "imperfections" well

  2. I agree that skin looks like fat a lot of times. I'm a size 4 in 90% of the items I buy- I am definitely not large by any means. I'm 4'11 and weigh between 129-133 depending on the day. I just had a baby 3 months ago and other than loose skin- that looks flabby- I'm exactly where I want to be. What are you hoping to see change with a 20lb loss? Do you want to be a smaller size or are you just wanting to "tone up"? A size 4-6 is pretty tiny :).

  3. I had a boy as well :). Baby Emmett is doing well- reflux (ughhhhh), but well! He's 2 months old now (how is that possible?!?). He is baby number 4. And I agree- pregnancy was easier when I was bigger! But- the complications I had can't be blamed on the surgery. I had hyperemesis and violently threw up (despite zofran and phenergan) from week 5-30ish. And I had pre-term labor from 24 weeks on (my uterus hates boys apparently). I was on procardia every 6 hours from that point until 36 weeks with a couple bouts of bed rest. At the very end I was having problems from low blood pressure (darn being healthy for once). I got your message! I will send you my number as soon as the app stops being silly!

  4. I was an odd duck- I had hyperemesis throughout my pregnancy and my surgeon/OB both said eat whatever in the heck you want. I lost 15lbs between finding out I was pregnant and week 30ish? I gained 16lbs back. (So up 1lb from pre pregnancy). I'm now almost 25lbs less than pre-pregnancy. I tracked caloric intake for a bit and I was eating 1800ish in the middle (post puking 24/7, but before I felt like I was going to pop because baby was taking up too much space). I'm breastfeeding currently and maintaining at the 1800 calorie mark. (I'm happy where I am weight wise- and I don't want to lose anymore especially while breastfeeding).

  5. Honestly- I stayed with my OB I had been seeing for 4 years. He and I had discussed my surgery at length and told me he would refer me out if he felt baby needed it. Emmett was ahead growth wise throughout my pregnancy. Any complications I had were not related to the surgery at all and were handled well. He was born right at 37 weeks (one complication I suffered was pre-term labor from 24 weeks on) at 7lb 2oz and 21".

  6. I used Dr Kim who was your coordinator ashleine? Dr Kim has a out of network special right now for $4900, did you talk to them about the special?

Melissa started handling it- and after numerous issues- I asked for Summar to handle everything. I still wound up switching doctors because I backed out of my surgery in 2011. I had my sleeve done in Nov 12 by dr. hodges.

  7. I have managed to stay the same cup size, but I have gone from a 40G to a 34G. I was there before I got pregnant, now that I'm nursing- the boobs have some perk, but they are still sad out of a bra. I've never had the perky boobs though.

  8. I haven't been on this forum in forever but I'm looking for a couple friends to go through this journey with. I'm 20 (almost 21) weeks along with my first (lil' boy). I was 11 months out when I found out I was pregnant. I still had about 30lbs to my goal. So this whole weight gain thing is starting to get to me a little bit (mentally and emotionally). I had gotten down to about 210 (from 299) and was 216 when I got pregnant and now I'm at 230. I know I'll be able to work on this again when the baby gets here but for right now, it's just challenging. Anyone else in the same boat? :)

Congrats on your sweet boy :). I just had my little one May 1. I hope you have a smooth rest of the way! I got pregnant 10 months out- I was 20lbs from goal. I lost a bunch of weight from hyperemesis (severe morning sickness). I'm now at goal (I sit between 128-133).

  9. I believe he's sending me somewhere else to have the study done. I think I'll do that woo woo have my regular doctor order it. Thanks!

I started with Dr. Kim and switched to Dr. Hodges in Dr. Barkers group. Dr. Kim does his sleep studies at a facility on hwy 26. They were super nice there, and insurance should cover that, but I'm not sure what your co-pay would be?

Dr. Kim is very nice, but I had issues with his coordinator which is why I switched :). I've heard great things about dr. Nicholson, too!!!

  10. I noticed a lot of the people who commented are freshly sleeved. I'm 19 months out- maintaining again after getting pregnant and having a baby 6 weeks ago.

There are two types of people: those that have to follow the total abstinence plan- if they take one bite of a not so healthy food it sends them straight down the rabbit hole and they continue to make those choices. So, those people can't do moderation.

Then there are people (I fall into this category) that had this surgery to eat like a normal human being. I have 4 kids- I have had a tiny piece of cake at their birthdays, I have eaten pizza, Mexican, bagels- etc etc. I have two girls and for me it was VERY important to be able to show them that being "healthy" isn't about depriving yourself. In my opinion- that was setting them up for failure in their own relationship with food. Being healthy is about realizing that bad foods are to be eaten in moderation (I'm talking rarely for the really bad ones). Eating 1 slice of pizza is not going to Sabotage my life because I will eat my one piece of thin crust and be happy and I won't eat it again for another month or two.

I eat Mexican food often- I can eat one street style taco this far out (even when I was pregnant and my sleeve let me eat more). Most of the time hubby and I split fajitas and I eat the beef on a small corn tortilla with sour cream, cheese, guac, and Beans. This was probably the first of your list of foods I tried (I'm from Texas- Mexican food is a staple here)

Lasagna- I tried Pasta for the first time maybe 4-5 months out. I still to this day can not eat much Pasta at all. I do however make lasagna often with zucchini slices instead of noodles.

Bagels- I eat Bagels probably once a week now- with peanut butter- when I was in weight loss not as often. I probably tried one for the first time 6 months out.

I can't remember what else was on your list specifically, but by 6 months I had tried almost everything again. My sleeve has no issues with certain foods- I just can't eat as much of certain things.

I'm also eating about 500calories more than normal currently because I am breastfeeding, so I can have a few more of the "bad" things on occasion :)
