  1. Good to hear you had a great day. They are amazing people.
  2. I have zero interest in bread now, which I love. I was a massive carb junkie pre op. I would eat HUGE amounts of bread, Pasta. If I'd walk into a bakery the owner would be rubbing his hands together because I was about to clean him out! I've had small amounts of bread post op but it fills me up quickly and I'd rather fill myself with other cleaner, more easily digested foods. So I don't really eat bread anymore, but I'm not really avoiding it and I certainly don't feel like I'm being deprived.
  3. I have a green smoothie every other day, so I get a good hit out the green leaves. Snacking on dried apricots is a good source. Avocados good. Every few days I dry roast some sweet potato and I have it with lots of stuff. Throw it in salads. Have it with a tin of tuna or salmon. All little potassium bombs!
  4. Smash it out buddy!!
  5. How good does it feel to get amongst it!!
  6. OMG - who put that diva in the spotlight??
  7. They considered WLS so I assume they're obese? If WLS is for the 'weak and unmotivated' what does that make someone who is obese and not doing anything about it weak unmotivated and stupid!!?? People crack me up!
  8. I'd 'thank' them for their concern but point out they have nothing to offer. Something along the lines of "thanks for your concern, I really appreciate it, but you're not going to suggest anything that I haven't thought of or tried, probably numerous times"
  9. Wow. That is the definition of 'everything happens for a reason'. Good work!
  10. I know what you're saying Liss. I'm sure it was upsetting for you but I think it's great that you're (we're) now that resilient with our life choices, things like this don't effect us in the same way. Although still disappointing, and sad. If this friend genuinely reached out to you with an apology acknowledging it was her issue and that she was completely out of line I think any of us, having some insight into where she's at, would find it hard not to accept it. I know how much empathy you have for people with weight issues and I think you'd find that a challenge as well. But the sad truth is that is pretty unlikely to happen. If it does I'd consider reading her the riot act about some boundaries for the friendship in the future. If you anticipate that something like this could happen again in the future I think it's completely reasonable that you exclude her from your life. Have a ball at the theme parks. I have to say you don't get sick of that feeling of fitting easily into the rides and not having that bit of anxiety as you line up because you might get rejected!
  11. Just keep chipping away Kel. You already look fantastic. I can only imagine how great you'll look another 10 - 15 down. have a great day!
  12. Every time I read this thread I think "What a nice bunch of girls" That's all.
  13. I agree with Richard. Also your body uses Water to metabolise fat, so maybe you have a big lose coming up?
  14. Yeah, I wouldn't get hung up on all the generalisations. It's different for everyone. Just tick all the boxes as far as your diet and exercise is concerned and don't worry so much about what you can't control ie how fast you'll lose. It's not a race!
  15. For snacks I have jerky, hard boiled eggs, tuna and a small amount of sweet potato.
  16. Just sit back and wait for the money to come in!! Sory I mean wait, and wait, and wait .......
  17. Yeah. Normally they convince somebody to 'help' them. Then the victim either hands over bank account deatils or pays them money on the promise or a big payment. I'm not saying this member was doing that, but that sort of activity is rampant.
  18. If you get messages like that make sure you hit the 'report' button in the PM. Probably Nigerian scammers, or alike.
  19. I think I have seen a statistic somewhere that say half of patients gain back half their excess weight after 10. Lucky I'm not planning on being a statistic! I think those general ones include all WLS. I've heard of a lot of people who haven't been able to make the band work for them.
  20. I ate dog in Vietnam in the 90's. I've had people stop talking to me when I've disclosed that in the past. When in Rome.
  21. I like it. No time to think about eating!
  22. George is great. He's like a whirlwind because he's so busy, but he's so busy because he's so good. His staff are great. I was first up in the morning ....... maybe 9am? I used nothing for the pain after surgery or at home, but I know everyone's experience is different. Holy Spirit nice and the staff are really caring. You must be getting excited. Not long now! Is your dietician Margie or Michelle? I'm sure they'll get back to you soon.
  23. Chastised you. A work mate. Women really do live in a different world! If a bloke said that to me at work I'd say "Good thing it's none of your &^%$*& business!"
