  1. I got my surgery date today April 15! I bought all the stuff they wanted me to buy. Protein powders' date=' Vitamins, Protein Shots etc. It came to 328!! OMG I hope this will last me for awhile. I don't like paying so much but I will do whatever they want to have the surgery. I am so excited. I can't believe I am really doing this after thinking about this for so long. Good luck to all of the April sleevers.[/quote']

Good luck to you, too !

  2. I'm only taking two weeks off. But my third week I'm only working half days. I hope that's enough time... :-/

A friend of mine had the surgery and he drove himself home from the hospital !! He said that he was a little sore for a few days and the doctor told him he couldn't lift anything more than25 pounds for a month. This is a guy that LOVED to eat !! The weight is FLYING off him ! He has me wound up for success !!

  3. I've been out of the loop for a few days and just popped on to catch up. Boy!' date=' you all are so far ahead of me on being organized! I still haven't had a chance to try/order any Protein drinks. I better get a move on! dde03 Had my appt with the physicians assistant on Tuesday and got my orders for all my per-op testing. I'm very happy that the hospital I'm using has one central person and she takes care of setting up all the appointments! My life is so nuts that this is a huge lifesaver. April 8 here I come!![/quote']

Hi Simone, you are a week before me. I look forward to hearing all about your post surgical experiences. Have you received all your clearances yet ? What kind of pre-op diet will you have to be on ?

  4. April 8th and very nervous :(...... I have thought about this for 6 months now and for it too be so close till the surgery is crazy!!

Hope everything goes good for everyone and wish me luck when the time comes!!!

Hi Deena. I took a long time after the initial orientation to make a firm decision. After all....this IS major surgery. However I reached the decision that I wanted my life back for myself, my husband and my family. I'm a little nervous about it but am looking forward to the ultimate result. Good luck to you and don't forget to post on here to let everyone know what step you're at and how your weight loss is progressing !

  5. I use My Fitness Pal to keep up with the foods I eat and my calorie intake....I just found a Protein that I really love and it is the Target Brand (Market Pantry) Whey Protein 25 grams Vanilla....I love it so much...I mix it with Almond milk vanilla and use my blender with a little ice....awesomeness.....

Thanks so much for the tip on My Fitness Pal ! I just downloaded it onto my iPad and what a GREAT application !! I hadn't heard of it. Hope others here check it out. It's a free app and is really amazing !!

  6. Hi Janet...so sorry you've had to wait so long' date=' I've been waiting over a year and thought that was bad! Good luck on your new date I Hope you get it soon...Lucie, my nutritionist recommended Skim Plus to me and it really isn't bad, it's way better then regular skim milk, has a creamy taste to it, worth a try..[/quote']

Thanks Kari. I'll look for it next time I go shopping ! :)

  7. hi' date=' i was suppose to have my sleeve on oct 8th last year but due to more health issues it was delayed, i had a few dates since, one was for 24th march but now it is going to be april, dont know when, but after waiting 53 months i finally believe it will be april.

I have already done one liver shrinking diet up to 3 days before my op should have been so know what is coming.

Im diabetic so i did the 800 cal low fat, low carb, low Protein diet, for the first three days i could have eaten my own fingers but after that it was easier and i felt so good on it, the only prob i had was sleep, im like a baby, full tummy sleep, empty stomach no sleep and grumpy, lol.

Im in the uk and having my sleeve on the nhs, and i only get one shot at it, so its got to be right.

I was so ready in oct and was devestated when my op was cancelled, but have grown through it and am so sure that this is going to give me a new me and a new life.

I had my gall bladder out 16 years ago at this weight and sailed through it, by keyhole, and i have been told that the sleeve is no more dangerous than a gall bladder removal, so am confident i will be good despite the added health issues i now have.

It is great to see so many excited april sleevers, i want to be sitting on the loosers bench with you in may.

Im Janet, aged 55 and raring to go, x[/quote']

Hi Janet ! I'm also sorry that you've been through so much but, hopefully, you're in the final stretch !

  8. Kari, I tried the Chike chocolate Bliss and it was really good. I also tried the Atkins Advantage ready made chocolate shake but that doesn't have enough Protein in it. Thanks for all your insight on what you've tried. I'm sure everyone here is helped by your information. I still have to try the Unjury vanilla and chocolate splendor and the Chike very vanilla and orange creme. I don't think I'll try the chicken Soup mix. Somehow a chicken soup shake just doesn't do it for me...lol.

  9. Lucie my surgeon told me that the reason some doctors make you do the all liquid diet pre-op is so that they can see your liver better when doing the surgery' date=' my surgeon and other surgeons dont' feel the need for that, but some do I guess...Good luck to you I hope you get your surgery date soon..My date is April 2nd, same as you Bebee..[/quote']

My surgery date is April 15th. Just started trying the Protein shakes.....not too bad ! Good luck to you, too , and keep us all updated on your progress !!
