  3. Another Hashiimoto's victim...I am on 135...my surgery date is 12/05/12, and seeing all this success is AWESOME!! WOO HOO!
  4. Awesome! He will be excited soon. Guys show it differently, and he just loves you and ( like us ) probably thinks of what COULD happen. I am not drinking/using the unjury. My NUT said I can use any kind, just be mindful of the sugar, calories and the sugar. I bought 2 2 gallon tubs from Wal Mart so far...and some samples from my clinic called Chike ( the orange creme and chocolate ) OMG!!! Those are SOOOO good. I will be buying them!

  9. Oh my...no clue, not there yet myself. But I am eager to see what others say. Does it come with pain and or sensation ( pardon me...but like the gas we know is there)??
  10. I hope so...I had my gallbladder removed in 2001...and boy do I know the gas pain all to well. I remember having to walk walk walk WALK...even though you wanna curl up and sleep until they're gone HA HA. My Dr said that should be the most bothersome thing...and I pray it is. You look as if you are doing awesome...keep up the good work! XOXOXOX
  11. Hinster...you never thought you would be told you're normal huh?? HA HA...but I know the feeling. I am 3 weeks away and it is getting more intense. Research is great though...know the risk but don't let the thought of them consume you. I was a bad girl and last night I went on here to the forum about complications...oh...not a good ideal before bed...I had nightmares...lol. I should have read those after the surgery...yikes. But of course, for most of us, the risks of having are nothing compared to the risks of NOT having, right? XOXOXO
  12. NYB..that is awesome...when did you have your surgery?? I hope I dont have to take much for the pain...I dont care for pain meds much. I had a foot surgery in July 12, and took like 2 pills the first 24 hrs...that was it.
  13. Well, I am 3 weeks away from having surgery, but my Dr told me to keep liquid tylenol on hand for every day aches and what not. I have plenty as my 12 year old daughter had her tonsils removed about 2 months ago and used hardly any...it's mine now!
  14. Aww...poor thing. Seems crazy that 1/2 an egg feels like a brick, huh?
  15. Wow...that's great. My sleeve is in 3 weeks, and when I measure stuff I'm like there is NO way I can be full off that!! Good luck...keep us posted on your progress.
  16. Hey all...newbie here too. My dates is Dec 5th...woo hoo. My insurance, United Heatlh Care took 2 days to approve ( I thought it was 7 but I was wrong ). Already did the Cardio stuff, NUT and Psych Eval....My 1st consult visit was 10/10/12, so this is moving right along. I PRAY the procedure, recovery and weight loss is just as easy. I would love to keep up with all the Dec peeps to support and guide each other along...send a friend request if interested as well. XOXOXO
  17. WOO HOO..I am scheduled for Dec 5th, and feel the EXACT same. What I have been doing for about 2 weeks now is this: I cut off caffeine and soda COLD TURKEY ( bad headache at first ) but I got over tht. I am drivning water, gatorade, and crystal light ( and I juice my own juice). I have at least 2 protein shakes to get used to the flavor and am experimenting. I started taking all the required vitamins so that it would becone 2nd nature to me. Next week I am to have a diet of 2 protein shakes and 1 lean protein food with greens, to prep for the suregery. Easy, chicken...fish...and a big ol' salad.
  18. I am so sorry Lux...I hope you get better and to a point in life that you can actually look back and say "Whoa those first months SUCKED...but look at me now"!
  19. Thanks slimagainsoon....that waiting is the worse. I'm glad I was consumed with my cardio apnts. I didn't think about insurance to much.
  20. Hello everyone!!!! I got my insurance approval yesterday....only after 7 short days of submitting the paperwork!!! Crazy...my insurance is AWESOME!!! They'll even cover the skin removal....down the road. Anywho....I am LaWanda....I am 38 years old and (OMG....here it goes) I weigh 330 lbs!!! YIKES! I fortunately only have asthma and Hashimotos Disease. With that I have tried ( and failed) at EVERYTHING to lose weight. After seeing my Endo I was encouraged to research WLS ( I had man times prior though) and decided to consult with Dr Umbach here in Las Vegas NV. He is with The Center of Excellence and I see him all over TV. So 10/10/12 I have my consult ( with my amazingly supportive boyfriend Joe) and we agree on the sleeve (1st choice for me). After seeing Dr I meet with Mindy the insurance goddess, pres op guru, and band to sleeve patient herself! She tells me my insurance ONLY needs last 5 years medical docs showing my weight....DONE!!! Its in my car....yeah. No lie...that's it!!! What?? No 6 month weight loss trial?? NO!!! I do the Dr required nutrition class, psych paperwork, and have an EKG, stress test and labs with a cardio and that's it. Nov 13 my 2nd apnt is now my pre-op...lol....WOW! I pay my Dr fees of $185.00!!! I only have a 10% coinsurance as my deductibles been met! OMG....I'm about to faint...this is really happening. The doors are wide open for me....this is happening so fast...its meant to be! I get home from work that night to a letter from my insurance advising I'm approved...and they cc 'd the Dr and the hospital. Now on Thanksgiving ( here's the curse) I need to start my pre-op liquid diet....YAY!! I can do this though. Its so worth it. My journey is just beginning. I love this sight so far and cant wait to share and read more!
