    Fitbit or jawbone?

I would say the fitbit flex is the best out of the 3
  2. Hi congrats, I was sleeved in dec 2102 and revised to bypass 5/29. So far so good, no real pain, no nausea or vomiting at all, was the same experience when I had the sleeve. I am still on nourishing fluids until Friday when I start puréed food. I feel like I had no surgery, if it wasn't for my surgeon showing me the before and after pics of the stomach I wouldn't of believed I had the surgery. I am not getting any restriction yet, are you getting any? Paul

    Fitbit or jawbone?

I have had both, the colour on the fitbit wears off unless it's black, I then go a jawbone and it was just really uncomfortable on my wrist. So then bought a Nike fuelband, really nice but battery didn't last long. I have now bought the garmin vivofit, I love it, it's light, accurate, has a great iPhone app and best of all u don't need to charge it, the battery has a 1 yr life

    Antidepressants after surgery

Hi I asked my gp and surgeon before my surgery about taking medication/ anti depressants. I take cymbalta and was told that the tallest would have no side effect whatsoever, however the surgery can have an effect on the medication. This is because the tablets are time released and we have smaller stomachs now, so me digest a lot quicker, we may not be getting full effect from them. I have had to get blood tests to check Paul

    Protein drinks=fluid intake

Hello, yes Protein drinks count as Fluid, you really need to look at over all fluid , be it Water or nourishing fluid it all counts Yes Popsicles count to , pretty much if you Popsicle is say 150 grams, you would be looking at roughly 150ml give or take a couple

Not feeling any restriction at all..

I had a sleeve done in dec 12 and never felt restriction, 29 May 14 I had an omega loop gastric bypass and feel no restriction with fluids at all. I went to the surgeon 2 days ago and he explained that the reason is fluid goes straight through you and will definitely feel restriction once real food begins to get eaten, at the same time you don't want to be eating until you feel that restriction . I was sure I believed that I actually had the bypass done but then he should me the pics from the surgery of before and after, I'm calm now lol

    aborted surgery

That is just terrible, I would be demanding my money back and threatening to go to press on him. I know it's a cliche but everything happens for a reason, this time you can get a surgeon who has you as a top priority in his mind, thank god he didn't do a bypass on you. Good luck, I know it will go well for you

    Gas pain

I was lucky when I had my sleeve 2yrs ago I had no gas at all and had my pass last Thursday and had it in the right shoulder but managed to mall it off. I know that my surgeon says to get the patients up walking within 2hrs, so that maybe helped me

    Gas pain

Keep walking it off, it will go. It normally can last up to a week but the more walking you do the less gas you will have, good luck

    You're welcome
  18. Hi all, I am forever reading on here with people asking for recipe ideas, what to eat, what can't to eat etc, so I thought I would share my recipe book for you. The book is called New Your Complete Guide to Nutrition for Weight Loss Surgery. It is an Australian written book that gives you food ideas, everything from pre op diet through the 4 week stage and beyond with meal plans too. Enjoy,MIT is certainly helping me https://solehealth.evolveshop.com.au/epages/solehealth.sf/secfrHmtL_SsP6/?ObjectPath=/Shops/5353109492749174 http://www.pinterest.com/mammavs/ღafter-gastric-bypass-surgery-recipesღ/

    Fitbit

I started off with a fitbit flex and got accurate results then moved to a less discreet clip on one which broke on me. So I went into sole real detailed study to compare them all.!so I bought a Nike fuelband, absolutely unbelievable,y only problem is I have skinny wrists and it felt uncomfortable for me. I have now found my new best fried the garmin vivofit, wow this is awesome, don't have to play with buttons to see results, really lightweight and this is the only one in the market that you don't have to recharge every couple of days which is a pain in the backside. Battery life is 1 yr. I highly recommend this to everyone FYI I'm an ex personal trainer too so I really know what details I was after , good luck

    Surgery tomorrow

Hi misty So far so good, no nausea no pain , I came home after 4 days but still have a drain attached to me. I'm able to keep my fluids down so far. So really apart from the drain and of course being really tender I'd say all went well ????

    All from Perth

Ok it was crap, apparently WA has more gastric surgery than any other state here in Australia, warning people that they don't know enough about sleeves yet as it's only 8 yrs old. Apparently there are 2000 weight loss surgeries a year here in Wa and 1200 of them are sleeves, shame they didn't talk about bypass
