jcoufs got a reaction from rass21 in regular pills again?
I can't stand the chewable vitamins, so I switched to the "horsepill" I took before surgery and am having no problems! I'm 4 weeks out from surgery.

Thanks so much for responding. Yeah, we do share our surgery date, so I think that is a positive in our journey. I am truly excited about the surgery, I feel so different now that i lost some weight. I am so totally disappointed that I can't get all my Water in and am having a hard time with the Protein Drinks, too.
My energy level has been horrible, then I drank some green tea with stevia and wow, did that help! I realize now the tea has caffeine in it...oops! But hey I'm ok and had lots of energy, so I'm guessing it is really ok. Tonight I puréed some red Beans, and ate them and it has stayed down.....I'm fortunate as I know some people have trouble changing over to soft foods. I also ate an egg today, half in the morning and half at lunch. That stayed down, so tired of the sweetness of the Protein drinks.
Keep in touch with me and let's support one another! I appreciate you already!

    Hi,
We have the same surgery date and real similar weight loss. This morning I woke up feeling listless, no energy at all. I broke a rule and drank a cup of halfcaf (half the caffeine of normal coffee) with a splash of sugar-free Toriani Carmel Syrup. That did the trick! I sipped slowly, but felt better before I left the house for work. I didn't really bother my stomach, which was a big concern.
Then about 1/2 through the day I pop my Bcomplex Vitamin, and it gives me another energy boost.
My biggest problem right now is the 64 oz of Water. That is really tough. I can get in about 32 oz. through the course of my work day, but then in the evening, my sleeve seems to fill up fast and I just can't get enough in.
Oh well, surgery was still totally worth it!

jcoufs reacted to BlaqBeary in Kaiser, Has Anyone Has Plastic Surgery Through
    Hello Ladies
There are so many conflicting responses to this particular subject. I am 2 days post-op from having a panniculectomy (you can google). After bariatric surgery Kaiser will perform a Panniculectomy and Breast reduction for free. All your PCP has to do is send a referral to the Plastic surgery dept. I'm in So Cal/Downey and because I previously had a BR some years ago the same surgeon did my Panniculectomy. I am very happy with the result and am flatter than I thought I would be.

What a great idea. I am married to a wonderful man, Jeff. We have been married for 22 years. We have two wonderful daughters, a son-in-law (who is a chef) and the cutest grandson ever! I am a teacher and have been teaching for 21 years. We live in the beautiful state of Colorado and I can't wait to get on a bike and enjoy the beautiful scenery in my own "back yard". I didn't begin struggling with weight until a series of surgeries and I guess a lack of motivation. Just 3 years ago I had a benign meningioma (brain tumor) removed successfully. Each year I have to go back and get an MRI (YUCK!). Well after the brain surgery, I just decided I was going to live life, and in my view that meant eating whatever I wanted and succumbing to my penchant for margaritas!
I am looking forward to traveling to the world, especially the beaches of the world. I love to read, watch my youngest daughter play NCAA softball, travel, and DIY projects around the house.

Happy Thanksgiving all! I'm just a little over one week out, but my surgeon has ok'd turkey, green Beans, mashed potatoes and stuffing! I'm bringing a small plate and my baby spoon and fork. I'm nervous how my stomach will react since I've been on mostly liquids for two weeks.
I must remind myself how grateful I am for my family and my health and my sleeve!

jcoufs got a reaction from Kate27 in Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
Hello all. My name is Jana, I am 49 years old and was sleeved on the 15th. I've been fighting pain on the left side, but it gets better each day! I am looking so forward to the full liquid stage, which for my surgeon and nutritionist means cottage cheese! I have lost 15 lbs. and am looking forward to my new lifestyle. I've created a board on Pinterest that has all kinds of potential recipies once I'm on full foods. But for now I can't wait to have food other than broth, Isopure, and sugar free popsicles.
