    Girdle after surgery?

A girdle is always good maybe 2to 3 weeks after surgery. I use one everyday and the reason being is ur skin tightens a bit. It helps mold n somehow shape ur body over a period of time. I see the difference when I wear one and somehow it makes me suck up my stomach which in the end that's what u want ur stomach area to be flat as possible.
  3. Well my docs office told me all my documents look good and ready to submit to Aetna. They gave me January 30th as my surgery date. I will have to sign all consents forms on January 15th. They will be submitting all paperwork on Jan9th because is my last req. visit. I am so excited everything ran smoothly. My office nurse said it won't take more than 8days to get confirmation. Do now I am ready. Ready to start a new life!!!

    5 Confessions (Join In)

I am 2weeks postop, n so far I confess the following: 1) I confess 3days post surgery, I started exercising running and running a lot to the point that I want to go to the gym everyday because I am afraid the sleeve won't work for me. 2) I confess I had fries and rice two separate occasions but never swallow them. I chew them just for the taste and I spit it out. Is disgusting to say but it satisfies my head hunger n honestly it's mind fulfilling. 3) I confess I lost 31lbs since my surgery on January 30th but I fear I will be a failure or that somehow this surgery won't work for me. 4) I confess I always weight myself after a shower and I get easily discouraged when I see a digit going up instead of dropping. 5) I confess my greatest fear is being 5months post op and not being below 230lbs which is my goal.
  5. Personally I don't think so. Is all in determination and self commitment. In other words..how bad do you want this surgery to work for you? Try not gaining weight because ur first week or two you will be losing the weight you gain during the preop instead of the weight u always had. Good luck n try using the preop tab for further questions before surgery.
  6. So I am 29yrs old. 5ft 11in. My start weight before surgery in Jan 30th was 291. Today I got 3times on the scale I been using, and my weight was 257.4 I am so happy and very excited. So proud to have lost 34lbs in just 5days. It's not easy trust me. But my secret is, get up from that bed and walk. Walk walk n walk. N drink lots of water. On the 3rd day I started to power walk cuz I felt so much better. Can't wait to hit the 40's! Good luck to all just wanted to share this with all.

Aetna Req On 2Yr Weight History

Yes I did. Make sure your primary writes u a letter stating the importance. Got approved and sleeved on Jan 30th. So far so good. No regrets. Best of luck.
  8. So my insurance navigator request 2yr weight history for my approval. I got 2010 and 2011 weight history but she says the BMI for both yrs has to be over 40. My BMI for 2010 is 39.85 and 41 for 2011. I'm concern Artna my denied me because of 2010. Should I talk to my PCP or to leave it as is? I don't want to be denied because of a decimal short. My PCP did write a notice saying my BZmI should be consider 40 given for the past 10 yrs I been struggling with obesity. Do you think this helps? Any advice or comments will help.
  9. So I was sleeved on Jan 30th. My starting weight was 291. Day of surgery 285 and only 4days after today's weight was 267. Holy Molly!! I hope those #s don't go back up! Lol

Nope I am back home. I am having trouble passing out the gasses. I try everything walking, gas x strips but nothing seems to help. I slept more last night than what I did in the hospital. Now about the liquids.., I hope I can take my entire bottle of Isopure. Crossing fingers.
  14. I am one day post op and hiccups do not stop. The nurse asked the doctor n she told her eventually it goes away. I am discharge and home now but I still get them. How do I make them stop??

    How are your insitions

I had surgery yesterday. 5 incisions. Today I feel much better despite a minor comfort on one of the incisions. I think I will be in a speedy recovery so I hope. Hope this month passes quick.

    Help! Surgey question

Thank you guys! Yea I asked a different nurse and she sure helped me. Wow I feel so relief now. The only pain I have is a small bit of gas in my stomach and my incisions which are very small. Will keep you posted. I can't drink anything past 11pm being that they are doing some tests in the morning. Thank you once again.
