  1. I can check that out.. What's the name? Thanks!
  2. Ok so one bag lasts 10 days, which means I have to get 4bags/month. Okay, will have to give it a shot. Too bad it's so expensive but it seems there's no other calcium citrate out there that's small. The "pettite" might not even be pettite enough and the gummies are not recommended by nutritionist. Thanks!
  3. Sorry this must have been asked a gaziilion times.. But i need Help! These Calcium horsepills are too big! I choke/gag everytime I drink them. I saw calcium citrate with Vitamin D Petites- are they really small enough to swallow??? Do they have good taste? Anything else out there that is not too horrible? The creamy chews sounds good, but are too expensive because Md said 1500mg/day total. I never took anything and now i have cocktail of Vitamins ;( I'm really having a hard time with this. Thanks!
  4. Hi there, just curious if you go home... Who will manage the wound? Dressing changes? Are they going to send someone like a visiting Rn? I hope they have a plan about it coz the wound needs a lot of cleaning and caring for. You're in pain and recovering so I hope they don't expect ou to do that ... Get well soon and hope this ordeal will end soon. hUgS!
  5. Love Zumba wii! You can adjust your pace with it, beginner, intermediate and expert level down the road. You can burn lots of calories and I even wear a 2lb wrist weight thingy to help tone my arms. . Plus you can do it at home which is such a big plus
  6. You're not alone.. I'm 17 days post op. I'm noticing too that my sleep pattern is not the same, can't sleep through the night ;( I keep waking up almost every 2 hoursand, and by 4 am can't go back to sleep anymore. It's so not me ;(
  7. Hi amyrn09! Yay for Icu nurses! I am an Icu nurse too and yes! She needs to advocate for herself because everyone seems to be lost and confused with her medical care ;(
  8. When they change the dressing, I can imagine how painful it will be. Make sure you get something for pain, it's not right to let you be miserable when they do the dressing change. Ask for pain meds okay. Get well soon!
  9. Thanks for the update! Yes, they need to put you on heavy antibiotics, and monitor that wound. and make sure whoever takes care of you wash their hands pretty good, coz you don't want any more infection from people in the hospital. Sending you happy and get well thoughts! Hang in there!
  10. Oh my goodness, it's better to be admitted and be given antibiotics. They can monitor your infection better, I am so sorry to hear this. Get well soon, and hoping you feel better. Hang in there!
  11. Hi! Just want to know which brand you are using for the cocoa butter. thanks!
  12. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000Z9CT8W/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1359645475&sr=8-3π=SL75 This is what it looks like. I asked my Md for it while I was in the hospital. It helps a lot with pain and makes me move around without the incision bothering me.
  13. Hi there, maybe you can let your doctor aware, and maybe they need to check your blood work. I get dizzy and have low energy but i thought it was related to strees. My iron levels were really low and I never knew, they put me on large iron dose before surgery to help, and will probably be back on it again. They also checked my thyroid level as well. Also, 800 calories may not be enough for you, try if you can get it in more and see if that helps with your energy. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!
  14. Are you losing inches anywhere? How's your calorie intake? Hang in there...i noticed that if take too little calories then the scale doesn't move either. Drink your Water and experiment with calories. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
  15. I have same feeling you guys described, my surgery was 1/16. When I sneeze or cough it's the worst. But was told by md that it is healing inside. The largest incision where the stomach was taken out is the one that hurts. I still wear my abdominal binder all day to help, and once in a while, Tylenol for pain. But for the most part, it's tolerable. I went back to work this week, and I did okay. Just hang in there!
  16. Thanks! I am still working on getting 64oz. I am still on stage II foods. My staple food is greek yogurt mixed with cottage cheese, soups, broth, and Isopure Zero Carb. If I eat 2oz, then I really have to wait to drink for 30 mins, otherwise I can feel pressure going down my stomach. Working on increasing my fluid intake, and it's slow but getting better. If i sip too much it feels weird, so it's a learning process coz I sometimes forget and gulp too much and then i feel sick. I am back to work so it's even more challenging, but I really try to make a conscious effort to drink. Two weeks ago, I could only drink 1oz/hr, but as you heal and the swelling goes down, IT WILL GET better...and I was in the same boat as you, and many people posted they are father out than us and it's a challenge too for many. Just keep trying HAve a speedy recovery!
  17. Date of surgery 1/16- exactly two weeks ago. Weight 200, date of Surgery 190, Current 178. The weight loss is slow and steady compared to fast losers, but not complaining! So ecstatic coz I don't ever remembering losing this much at all! It will just get better down the road, if only I can finish 64oz of fluids (work in progress). the inches are coming off -- super happy!
  18. Not sure why you would need that? They can give subcutaneous heparin or small dose blood thinners to prevent you from having potential clots. It was never offered to me, that's another procedure in itself. I was given the injection shots.
