    Stalls in weight loss

I am 13 weeks out, and recently had a month long stall. I increased my protein from 60 to between 80-100 grams, and increased my water from 64 oz. to 72 oz. Didn't weigh myself. On the 9th day, I was down 10 pounds. The following week, I was down another 3 pounds. I read a lot of threads where people said to increase protein and water, or to get more calories in for a while and then go back to your regular regimen. I chose to up the protein and water because I was /am afraid to add calories. All I can say is it broke my stall. Good luck.

    Day two. Failed yesterday

Please don't beat yourself up. Take it one day at a time, and hopefully, before you know it, your date will arrive. Once you have the restriction, you get satisfied with very little. Shakes are hard and boring, but a great source of protein. I am 13 weeks out and still take them. Just keep your eye on the prize and you will be fine. Good luck and hang in there.

    But WHY? ...

I can relate. My hair was thin prior to surgery, but I do agree with the others; that it's a small price to pay for the benefits gained with the sleeve. Hang in there!

    Sports Drinks Stage two liquids

You may have to try lots of different drinks until you find one that suits your taste buds....When I want something sweet, I like the sugar free Hawaiian punch single serve packets. When I want something with just a hint of flavor, I drink Lifewater. I cannot tolerate plain water anymore. Good luck!

    Salad!

I'm 13 weeks out and just started having salad. Prior to surgery, I used to pile it with all my favorites, and I can't do that anymore. Now, I usually go for the turkey, boiled egg, cheese, and cottage cheese. I can only eat a small portion of it, and wind up feeling hungry 2 hours later! But I know what you mean about missing it.

    Chest tightness

For me, that only happened when I took a drink, instead of a sip. It still happens if I forget to sip! Good luck:)

    Bread...Why did I do it? :(

From all the threads I have read on this site, many people "mess up" from time to time. I have not had bread yet, and hope not to until I reach my goal. However; I don't think you should be too hard on yourself, just hard enough to not do it again. Pick yourself up, and continue to make the most of this tool. We can't give up on ourselves. Good luck

    Top 5 Running Songs

I listen to so many different types of music, but a must have song for running is "Pump It" by the Black Eyed Peas.
  9. Congratulations, and I have the same minset as you regarding making the most of this tool. I'm trying my best not to fall into old habits, and I'm proud of myself for doing the right thing most of the time. Thanks again for sharing!

    Pork Rinds?

I am just over 12 weeks out and tried pork rinds for the first time this week. No problems going down whatsoever. I needed something different. I think calorie, carb, and protein wise, they are better than any cracker or bread based snack because they have zero carbs and zero sugar, and relatively low calories per serving. Also, you can have them with a reduced fat ranch dip, or mashed up avacado and tomatoes, or even humus. Everyone has their own WL plan, and I choose to stay away from bread, crackers, and chips in general. I only allowed myself the rinds because of the no carb, no sugar, high protein ratio. My only problem was that they tasted so good, I ate them several times a day. If you can limit it, then it's a good alternative to crackers, as most are very hign in calories and carbs. But that's just my two cents.
  11. Only you can answer that question. Chances are if you're cheating pre-op, you will be tempted to do it post-op. Maybe you just need some time so that when you do have your surgery, you will have set yourself up for optimal success. Listen to your heart, and I wish you the best.

    Coffee talk

There are a lot of GP and Sleeve patients in my support group that have coffee regularly. They claim it has had no effect on their weight loss, and having one less thing to give up actually helps them drink it in moderation. Many do things like half=caff, or skinny lattes, or nonfat milk and sweeteners.

    List of slider foods

Popcicles, sugar free pudding, and jello are all sliders. I don't waste my "space" on anything that doesn't have protein, most of the time. Try string cheese and later on, beef jerky.
  14. Def. not one of my favorites, either. But it sure sounds delicious right now!
  15. I plan on eating things I miss once my goal weight is acheived, Moderation is the key, or so I've read.

    post op w 3 babies

Wow, 10 month old twins and a two year old. I thought I had it hard, LOL. I had my sleeve in November. My kiddos were 1, 2, and 4. Both the babies still in diapers. I was able to do evrything with no problem. However; I had to start changing them on the couch, as opposed to lifting them onto the changing table, because I made my incision bleed the second week from all the lifting. Once I did that, there were no problems. Also, I really had no one to rely on, so when you do have help, use it wisely. Have them lift the kids in the bath for you, or anything else that you find trying. This will ease your soreness and help you recover more quickly. Best of luck to you. You will do great!

    Top Heavy Women.....

I use sports bras at 12 weeks out. I have lost inches, but they are still quite heavy. Don't know if they will ever decrease enough to not be considered top heavy, but there seems to be less hanging out of my bra these days, LOL

    back

Yes, absolutely there's a difference! Congratulations!
  19. I didn't feel any restriction until the 3rd or 4th week. At first it was even hard to recognize! For me, it was feeling like something was "stuck" in my throat. I began to recognize that as my "full" feeling, and started measuring my food, as to not let myself get to that point. I'm 12 weeks out, still eating 2 ounces at a time. Not to worry, your restriction feeling will come once you are healed and eating heavier foods.

    Ok Women?

I have had 4 C-Sections, the most recent in 2008, 2010, and 2011. As you can tell by the responses, everyone is different. I can only say that they were not really painful, just sore once I got home. I did recover much faster from every C-Section than the sleeve. I never took pain meds with the C-Sections once I got home, but did for a week after my sleeve. It was just hard to bend down for me. It felt really tender. However; even at the worst amount of discomfort I felt, it was always tolerable. Good luck!
  21. I'm 12 weeks out, but I was feeling just like you at 6 weeks out. I posted here and everyone told me it was a phase and that it would pass. It took about a month, but it did pass. Just do your best to get in all your protein and fluids, that's what I did. I didn't want my weight loss to stall just because nothing looked good enough to eat. Good luck!

Wow! That's great. People usually have to wait a lot longer! Good luck.

    I lost 4 more pounds!

Well done, congratulations! Every pound lost is a pound closer to our goal.

    and it is true! Protein

Kort: You may have to try different brands until you find the one that works for you. Early out I did the Costco Premier shakes because they were high in protein and low in sugar and calories. I got bored with those, so now I drink Light Muscle Milk. I add a cup of nonfat milk and put it in the blender. It's a total of 16 ounces and I drink half first thing in the morning, and the other half in the evening. This ensures that I always get in 30 grams of protein. I get the rest in from food. Early on I had shakes this way twice a day, so I got 60 grams easily and half of my liquids just from the shakes. I find that diluting it with milk enables me to get it down easier, makes it not so thick and sweet, and I need the extra calories from the nonfat milk, since my diet is pretty low calorie. Good luck.
