One year out and at GOAL!
SleeveNZ replied to kijohns3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats! Well done on achieving your goal weight! Are u finding that u are still losing? or has weight loss stopped now? Curious as I am 6 months out and nearly at GW and I like to set myself goals ... was it hard to lose the last 20lbs? -
Potential young sleever -- help deciding what to do? I need advice...
SleeveNZ replied to annagene12's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm had VSG at 25. Down 87lbs in 6 months and nearly at goal. I wish I had it done at 22! Being sleeved doesnt mean u miss out drinking beer and eating pizza with friends - u can do all that, just in moderation -
I cant eat T.T
SleeveNZ replied to Mohammed Alshamsi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stuff your pockets? Have you told them about your surgery and how detrimental it would be to your performance to not have adequate eating time? Do u think u are able to munch on protein bars in between meals? -

First time with beef/steak
SleeveNZ replied to bringiton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What did you cook the beef in? I doubt it was the meat. To rule it out I would try again and if same thing happens then u know Red meat is such a good source of iron. -
What's up with red meat?
SleeveNZ replied to heartonmysleevey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was eating red meats at 6 weeks out. It was actually recommended due to the iron. I have no problem with any red meat but I do have problems with white meat!! Fish and chicken is so much drier ... dont wait 4 months! Seems stupid to me. -
I had wine at 7 weeks.

Its like a sharp stabbing pain just below your rib cage - you will have episodes where after a meal (often fatty or sweet) you feel like your are having a heart attack - think worse than labour pains. During which if u press down on where the pain is it will be very painful. Nausea usually accompanies the attacks as well and can cause you to vomit.

Yeah I'm really pleased with my results ... I'm waiting for my weight loss to start slowing down ... e.g. 1lb a week (not that I want it to). My main tips are dont deprive yourself, eat your fav things occasionally in moderation and mix it up food-wise everyday so u dont go into starvation mode, its a reason I have not stalled once I think. Also strength train as well as cardio - its important for us as it builds muscle and tones skin but it also burns more calories as well. I do two sessions a week and I'm starting to see shape!! Good luck all

Gas or gall bladder?
SleeveNZ replied to novam vitam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definately sounds like gallbladder. Especially if it often the pain comes on in the evening? just after u have eaten? -
