1. 10 months out & down 110lbs and at goal by month 8. My surgeon says my rate of loss is the same if not better than bypass patients. Advocate for the sleeve for sure! I wouldnt want the embarrassment of having to deal with dumping!
2. I noticed it a lot more within 10lbs of my goal. Overall its not too bad though and I do believe its gradually firming up a bit more now. Strength training has helped a lot. *10 months out & at goal. 110lbs lost.
3. I am 10 months out. Yes there is a very very small chance of a leak which is usually out of your control. I think the stats are 1%. Personally I have had no issues except a few gallbladder attacks from losing weight too quickly - which a lot of us unfortunately have to deal with. I can eat and drink whatever with no issues including alcohol it is the same for me as before. I have not experienced any form of dumping. So I still have my "treat" days. Weddings, parties etc. I am at first goal now of a normal BMI for the first time in my life and of course I have no regrets! My only concern now is maintenance and keeping vigilant about regain etc. Goodluck with your surgery and decision
4. I reached goal (normal BMI) at 9 months. 110lbs down. Still want to lose more though.
5. I'm at my goal weight now and I get this on almost a daily basis lately. Its funny that everyone comments on us getting too skinny but hardly ever people say we're getting too fat.

Body Fat Percentage

I am pretty much at my goal weight now but still 29 % body fat. I strength train twice a week and cardio (long distance running 3x a week. Whats a good body fat percentage to aim for for a female? And any suggestions to reduce it?
7. I have lost 106 and just 2-3lbs from goal. Havent lost in 3 weeks - longest stall to date so counting myself lucky Main focus is now reducing body fat % and staying same weight. Doing a half marathon in 2 months! All going well except I snack way too much now and often dont get in all my water! Definately noticed in past month I can eat a lot more!
8. I would say gallbladder but lying down normally doesnt alleviate the pain ...
9. So beautiful - love your style

Hunger

As the above poster said its likely to do with time of month and your cycle. Track what you are eating and if its below 1,200 calories then its fine!! Its good to have "off" or "treat" days sporadically to tell your body that you're not starving it! Also another suggestion - go for a walk or do some form of exercise, often gets mind off eating and supresses appetite for a while

What happens to your skin

Working out will def make a difference! It will also change the shape of your body and give you more definition. Its never to late to work on body fat percentage. Might help you drop some dress sizes too! Also the more muscle you have the more calories you burn naturally during the day!

What happens to your skin

There are so many factors e.g. age, weight you have to lose, genetics, rate u lose the weight, Water intake, exercise etc. The main one is age in my opinion - the younger you are the better your chances. My personal experience @ 9 months post op : I am 26 and have lost 106lbs so far and pretty much at goal. I was fat all over and currently no loose skin. I have strength trained since month 2 and believe this has helped immensley. It is not just stomach - common areas also include underneath arms, inner thighs, and breasts.
13. Next week it will be my 9 month follow up appointment and stoked to be 2lbs from first goal to be within a normal weight! SW 276lbs CW 170lbs. Size 14 to a Size 6. I am very fortunate that everything has been super easy for me and have not had any stalls yet. The key for me is to keep calorie intake high as I am fairly active. I find I dont lose as much if I go below 800cal. I currently am getting a few concerned comments about how I have lost too much or that I have an eating disorder which my surgeon warned me about. Its just funny that you can't win either way! Good luck to all those pre-oppers out there, truely best decision ive made

fish and chips post op anyone?

Of course! However just be careful with the fish ... it can tend to be a bit dry as they don't always use the freshest fish. I can usually eat half a piece of fish and a few fries

BMI of 40....

I had a BMI of 41. 8 months out I have a BMI of 25 and a few lbs to goal. I have lost over 100lbs and very minimal loose skin - mid 20s so age has helped a lot with skin.
