:kiss2::clap2::whoo:My request for lapband authorization was submitted on Nov. 1. It was approved on Nov. 4. I am still in shock. I don't have it in writing yet but I have the approval number. I'll post my surgery date as soon as I know it. This gives me a whole new meaning to "down side"!

Hi Jacole, I am also having surgery with Dr. Blackstone. I am going for lap band. How about you? I finished my 6 mo. diet on 10-10. I just want to get on with it. Not that I am impatient, but I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!! lol

If I worked with the speed, accuracy, completeness and customer service as the insurance companies and doctor's offices, I would have been fired long ago. I finished my 6 month diet 10 days ago. They assured me it would be sent right over to the surgeon. WRONG! It has not been sent, dictated or ordered. No wonder the surgeon does not have it. I saw a psychologist for 5 months and was promised she would send the approval to the surgeon's office. WRONG! It has not been sent. I am really tired of sending emails and leaving voice messages. There! I feel better now. I just needed to get that off my chest. Now I can relax and fight the fight again on Monday. Wish me luck. I WILL have the band before the end of the year!:heh: Karen

I have had my 4th supervised diet appt. I am now starting to think seriously that this may really happen! I have two questions: 1. What is the pre-surgery requirement? liquids only? Two weeks? 2. How many fills are included in the surgery cost? I am getting excited now that I am more than half way there:clap2:

I have used one for several years. I would not even attempt to sleep without it. It makes such a difference in how I feel.:straight

Hi Virginia, SBC meets the first Monday of the month. I have not made it to one because I work 3rd shift Fri-Tues 10 hr shifts. The meet time is during my sleep time. I have tried giving up my sleep time but the older I get, the crankier I get when I do not get my sleep. I keep hearing that the sleep requirements are less when you get older, but mine seem to be more. Maybe I am getting younger! This forum has helped alot. I look forward to signing on every day. OK! That posted before I was done! Seminar was February. First appt. was April. That included the nutrition visit, psych visit and I saw Randy the nurse practitioner. First appt. for supervised diet 4-25 Second appt. May 30 Third appt. June 20. I lost 1.5 lbs. Not much but in the right direction. Next appt. is July 25. I still need mammogram and the heart exam. I hope this is my last "FAT" Arizona summer. On to health, energy, and fun things I'll be able to do that I can't now. Like breathe and walk. That sounds like normal stuff but to me it will be fantastic to do both at the same time. I missed the last get together. I work weekend nights. I had planned to go but sat down on the couch for a moment. YIKES. I slept all the way through it. It would be easier for me to do Breakfast. I get off work at 8AM. Just a sugestion. I'll try to make the next one. Karen
