Thank you for this. That is definitely a worst case scenario. Thankfully, my surgery is on March 7th and I am claiming that everything will be fine! I know that we will be in the loser's bench soon!

I am going through the process now and hope to have VSG in late Feb or early March. I am a Very Private person. I'm not sure whether or not I want to tell my supervisor. ..I work with mostly women in a small office.
Also, most of my family lives in another state and I plan on telling my mom and sister about my surgery but I don't want to tell my In-Laws. My mother in law is very nosey and I know if I told her my business would be all out in the street. I do rely on my in-laws to watch many small children sometimes but I'm quite sure I don't want her to know about my surgery so I will rely heavily on my husband.
Just wanted to get your opinions on whether or not to disclose. I'm not ashamed and I'm very excited about my future new life but it's MY life and I don't see the need to HAVE to share unless its on my terms.
Thoughts? ??

I would like to lose about 20 pounds before surgery. I am not required to do a liquid diet beforehand but I need to incorporate healthy eating habits beforehand and I would like to maximize my weight loss. Go for first weigh in on 11/29 hope to have vsg by 3/13.

Hi everyone,
I am a virgin to this WLS journey and I want to thank you all for your posts as they are truly inspiring. I just met with a WLS surgeon yesterday and I have Aetna insurance and a BMI of 43 so I am prayerfully expecting a smooth experience during this new journey in my life.
My question ..it is open enrollment through my job and I am trying to guesstimate how much I would need to allot for, for my HFS benefits. I had to pay a copay of $20 and when my surgery is approved Aetna covers it 100% Praise God! Are there nutrients, Vitamins etc..that I should allot for?
I appreciate your opinions.
Thank you,
Monique
