  1. I would definitely do it.. In fact i did... Im a 5'3 and was 215 the day of my surgery 16 days ago... I did it because i am tired of yoyo dieting, im sick of nothing fitting me, of being always the fat girl amongst my friends, i refused to buy clothes this last year (i gained like almost 40 pounds) i was squeezing myself in cllthes that no longer fit me and at the end i didnt have one jean left i could squeeze myself into... I did it because i knew that maybe i didnt get to 250 this year but if i continued eating like i was i would definitely reach it next year and it would only get worse.. Im an emotional eater im really trying to solve that but i was constantly hungry before surgery and could eat in one day what 3 normal girls would eat.. I was out of control and i needed to do something and i am happy i did... Im already seeing the consequences of my over eating on my skin, i have cellulite, stretch marks (which I am currently removing with a somewhat painfull laser) and flab just about anywhere and everywhere so im happy i did it and stopped because i know for a fact that it was all gonna get worse in the future.... My advice.. DO IT.. Dont even think about it.. Its a bit of a sacrifice but the benefits out weight it .. You will feel better for you and for your kids..

    Water Anyone?

I love plain water!!! I'm 2 weeks post op and I'm so thirsty it's crazy I wish I could have more water at a time. My dr has me drinking max 2 ounces(I actually drink closer to 3) and then wait half an hour bur my mouth is soooo dry I just wanna drink water all the time...
  3. I'm dying for a salad and actually craving chicken which I don't really love... That's how I know I've been on liquid diet too long... I'm not even craving pasta or sushi (ok I am but not as much) I just want something I can chew.. Last time I ate something chewable was nov 2 so.. 21 days ago!!!!

    Onderland!

Congratulations!!! I'm about half a pound away from onederland...Sooo happy!!! I've just been sleeved for 11 days now and have lost 14 pounds so I wasn't that far away from onederland but still.. I was always around 190 at my heaviest but this year I've been pretty depressed and lost control and shot up to 233.. I went down from that to 214 from august cutting carbs, sweets and alcohol and mostly coke out of my life but even though I've gone down almost 33 pounds it doesnt feel like it because the first i lost slowly so I just count what I've lost since surgery.... Still I'm sook happy to be almost below 200...hopefully tomorrow I'll get there... I still have over 60 pounds to loose but it's a start!!!!

    Who's Eating Pureed Foods Already?

I'm just moving on from clear liquids... So far I've had juice and Gatorade and protein shakes which I now hate!! Tomorrow I start with soups.. I can't wait for pureed foods though I'm not starting them till dec 3rd... Thankfully I'm not hungry at all I just want the taste of something different I guess... I wonder how long after that I'm gonna be able to move to soft solids or just solids!!! Can't wait to be able to chew something haha

    Funky Tastes!

I'm 6 days post op and I definitely thought I was crazy with this... My sense of smell has gone crazy... Every single smell is so much stronger now and hard to stand even the smell of my poor dog who I love to death and had just gotten a bath was driving me insane... I haven't had much to eat yet but yesterday I tried a protein shake I loved before surgery and the smell and taste where horrible.. I was able to drink 3 oz though.... Later I tried a different one and almost vomited the second I smelled it... I tried drinking it but only had like 1 oz or less before I had to stop...
  9. Hey everyone, my name in Monica I just got sleeved last Saturday and I've been feeling great... A little bit (or a lot maybe I don't really remember) of pain first day.. Did recall getting some pain meds but right now I seem to have forgotten if and how actually painful it really was... After that a bit of discomfort while I was at the hospital but walking helped a lot!!! The nurses said they have never seen a patient walk so much during their first days!! My dr is really happy with how things are working out... He said that by the smile on my face and the way I was sitting and moving without any help or problems he knew I was gonna be fine... He said he was gonna give me a gold star for best sleeve of the year I've honestly been feeling soooo much beTTer than I imagined I was soooooo scared bc I had never had surgery before so everything about it just terrified me!! Thankfully It wasn't that bad and I'm apparently stronger than I thought I should give myself some credit next time!!! I'm on my 4th day post op and I'm amazed I'm already loosing weight and looking better... I've lost 7.7 pounds in 4 days which of course is mostly Water but I'm looking slimmer and less bloated!!!! So far I'm on clear liquid diet until Friday so I know this will slow down one I start adding more stuff to my diet... I have another 72pounds to loose before reaching my NUT goal weight. I have to admit I get scared at times of not being able to make it or just not loosing or getting back to my old habits or getting tonsss of loose skin and needing more surgery but I'm trying to keep myself positive!!! I'm also nervous about starting on soft and solid foods though that's still weeks away just because I don't want to have dumping syndrome or vomiting or nit being able to fit enough nutrients and loose my hair but I'll try to take it one day at a time and see what's what when I get there.. For now I'm feeling great and aside for a little gas pain and incision pain I'm totally fine... I kinda keep forgetting I just had surgery... So that's all... Just wanted to share my experience since I love reading other ppls experiences!!! This was a great decision and I'm so happy I made it... I would love to make some friends that are going through the same thing I am.. Btw I have read a lot of ppl wondering if it's a good idea to tell others... I wasn't sure but I've told some ppl and my parents have told a bunch so by now everyone knows and have been very supportive... I forgot to mention.. I'm from Venezuela... Anyone else here from latinamerica? Haven't seen anyone so just curious...
  10. I'm 5 days post op and I know it's soon but I'm freaking out thinking about hair loss... Can anyone tell me how soon after surgery I can start taking Biotin etc or what is the best supplement to avoid hair loss..and ppl who have had hair loss exactly how bad is it??? My NUT told me to take biotin and zinc but to start 1 month post op but I worry it might be too late... And for how long after surgery are u supposed to take it??? Any other advice to avoid hair loss???? It terrifies me

29 And 4 Day Post Op

Oh wow... I thought it may be because of the insurance... So annoying!I did it on my own but my dad is a dr. So I don't have to pay the whole thing and didn't do that... Though my cousins did use their insurance and dud the same diet I did I guess it changes with the country and the insurance ppl etc! Good luck, hope it all works out!

29 And 4 Day Post Op

Thanks to both!!!! I'm feeling great!!!! Leleboo I didnt do a 6 month pre op diet I just did the one week I actually decided to have the surgery a month and a half ago but I've read a lot of ppl do 6 months, can I ask why? 6 months go by fast though so you'll be where I am before you know it!!!! Good luck!!! If u don't mind me asking.. How much do u have to loose and how strict is the 6 month diet??? Sorry I'm new and kinda jumped into it without knowing a lot.. I'm learning a lot from reading other ppls experiences...
  14. I would be up for it!!! Though I'm in Venezuela so times would be a challenge!! I'm Monica, I'm 29.. Got my sleeve last Saturday nov 10 so I'm on day 4 post op... Feeling fine just a little weak since my doc left me on Water and tea until Friday but other than that I've been fine. Pain just the first day now just one of the incisions!!! I've never had surgery before so idk what to expect... I'm scared of the pain after but mostly about the anxiety before! Sometimes I feel I'm not gonna be able to do it but I know i will!!!!
