  2. I am so depressed i want to be normal again. I wish i could go back and just get on a diet. I wanted to lose weight the easy way and i didnt care what plp said to me so many times and i didnt listen. They told me i dont need to do it but i did it without thinking im so stupid. I cant even drink Water like i want to im always thirsty and all i want is pepsi and food. I am going trough a lot right now the only thing that is keeping me alive and a lil strong are my two daughters i love them and dont want to leave them. I wish i could go back and not do this surgery god please help me.

I am 4months out and I still get depressed sometimes but with each day that passes it gets better! They are busy teaching u the eating part but the emotional part is way bigger I think! I still cannot eat like I did before so I dnt go out to eat anymore too depressing but hey thats why you get the surgery but its a life style change so hang in there! God Bless

  3. Is there anything you wished someone had told you before you went in?

Any out-of-the-ordinary supplies that you brought with you that came in extra handy?

Any other words of advice or just helpful things to calm my nerves? This is happening very fast and I'm excited but mostly terrified!

I wish someone would have told me to get more emotional help! My BF waited on me hand and foot and for that I will be forever grateful but this has been more Emotional than painful! The Pain was very minimal but im almost 4 months out and im so emotional its almost pitiful! U think because you feel better your okay but it takes time I guess because im still dealing with the emotional part everyday! Goodluck and God Bless

  4. I'm really trying to prepare myself for my upcoming surgery next Monday.

Did you wake up actually feeling like' date=' hey, half my stomach is gone. Could you feel stuff on the inside?

Or were you just overall sore?

And I mean when you're consciously awake, not the first drugged wake up when you're still all loopy![/quote']

I was fine overall just felt drowsy and tired! Ummm the anesthia took a toll on me so I was nauseous for 2 days but that was just me may not be what you experience at all! I had no pain at all stomach was just sore from the staples but when you get them removed like 9 days later it will go away those spots will just be tender! For me this whole journey has been more emotional and mental than any pain! Just prepare yourself in those 2 areas and you will do fine! Goodluck and God Bless

  5. I'm sorry if you've been asked this already but has anyone regretted their surgery' date=' with no complications? I have a bit of a love affair with food, it's such a part of my social life with my family and friends, we eat out a lot, we gather round the table for family meals every day, we Celebrate with food, we comfort with food, we make up with food... jeez it's all about food. How do you deal with this and did any of you regret it or miss that side of things?[/quote']

I dnt regret it one bit but one thing I can say its more emotional and mental thang anything! I love that I got the sleeved it has truly saved my life I was diabetic and I weighed 286lbs what they called morbidly obese! I have surgery Jan 8th and I can say I know longer take meds for diabetes I am now 228lbs and Im am happy that I took a huge step to change my life in such a major way! If I have not learned anything else from this experience I have learned life is way to short to have doubts and you have to love you enough to know you deserve to live life healthy and happy! Goodluck on your surgery you will do fine! God Bless

  6. It could be that you may have eaten too fast or the seasoning could have upset your stomach as well and also spicy seasoning can upset you as well! My biggest problem after surgery was knowing when I was full so just be patient because as you go along and the time passes you when learn the sign of being full! Good luck and Congrats on your surgery it def gets better with time!

*was not knowing when I was full*

  7. Today i started mushies. I ate what is a very small amount of moi moi (ground black eye peas' date=' boiled and seasoned, very yummy nigerian dish), it went down with no issues but about 3 minutes after finishing i fdlt and still feel the need to barf. I thought i might have this problem of not really knowing when im full. It was an issue before surgery as well.i think i will stick to 2 bites from now on.[/quote']

  8. This post is just what I needed. I had surgery Jan. 8 and seem to have been stuck at 40 lbs lost for a couple weeks now. Here I was thinking I was "failing" but I'm actually within a normal range of the rest of you.

Maybe now I can stop stressing about it and move on.

Dont feel bad we were sleeved the same day Jan 8th and all I can think is I hope I dont fail at this because I lost 30lbs pre op and 24lbs since surgery for a total of 54lbs but then I ask myself would I have been able to change my life without the surgery and the answer to that is No! So for that I am very grateful for the pounds lost im just praying I succeed at this after going through such a life changing thing! God Bless and Goodluck to All

  9. I'm extremely grateful to wake up and see another day' date=' but I don't looking forward to the first 15 minutes of what has become my morning routine. Every morning I wake up gagging and throwing up a white foam. Most of the time it's multiple burps. I contacted my doctor and he told me to stop eating dinner late, I eat my dinner by 6 pm at the latest and its still happening. Can I please get some advice? Does this happen to everyone? How can I make this stop? And no I'm not pregnant :)[/quote']

I was having that problem and it had to do with the acid in my stomach! If your stomach doesnt have enough acid to its liking it will foam to the top like a volcano eruption like so I called the doctor and she said to drink some pickle juice and I can say I dnt have that problem anymore! So try that and goodluck hope u feel better!

  10. pizza isn't mentioned specifically on my post op diet (probably cause its not exactly a health food) but I was just curious if/when some of you had a slice?

I am a pizza Lover and I tried some raw pepperoni 3 weeks out and threw up too greasy and ate them 2 fast ugghh! Then I ate a half slice 2 months out and I was fine but a week later I started feeling nauseous so Im done with pizza! So I talked to my doc and he said it was prob the pepperoni so she said if I eat pizza make sure its vegetarian!

  11. You will do fine before you know it will be all over and you will be happy with your decision!! It's only human nature to be afraid but put your fears in whom ever you give praise to and you will do fine! I am almost 8 weeks out and I will tell you it is not easy at all but I'm glad I did it!!! If I had to I would do it again!!! Good Luck and God Bless :)
