How was your 5:2 day today?
Wanda, The holidays! Girl just hold on for dear life and we will all make it through. Food, food everywhere, I wish I could sing.. Well let me say I do sing but I'm completely tone deaf my kids find a form of torture. I sing silent night just to bug em! Globe, oh Oreos i wish I felt the same way BUT they are my all time favorite. I swear I make love to those things when I eat them. Most food I shovel those I lovingly separate, lick and crunch. Sheila, happy birthday to your daughter. She sounds like she has a sweet personality. She may give you some grief here and there but that base person she is will shine through I'm sure. Kim, those pounds are probably just from bloating and salt? as butter tells me all the time there is no way you can gain 4 pounds overnight...

How was your 5:2 day today?
I swear this wasn't there yesterday!! I'm so sorry Jane I was wondering what Wanda was talking about! That's weird.. But you did say he said things like he wanted to take care of you, it sounds like he is a vey old fashioned man that way (not a bad thing) and maybe doesn't do well not feeling "needed"??

Can't stop losing?!?
I know this sounds silly... But are you sure you are getting 1200 to 1500 a day? You might be over estimating the daily calories. I agree with Lynda above, add some good fats. peanut butter packs a very high calorie count per tablespoon...

Suggestions for the "Creamy" stage
By "creamy" do you mean purée? During purée I would do things like chicken and gravy, turkey meatloaf blended with watery mashed potatoes and gravy. Puréed chili, Puréed tuna salad,

How was your 5:2 day today?
I was saying that today.. Not burying my emotions in food (well except that binge last weekend) has left me kinda raw lately.. The holidays are just hard for me, I really wish they weren't. I'd like to work at looking at them differently, but boy that's hard to do somedays! Winter. It really is the perfect storm... No sun, cold can equal the blues Family and holiday expectation can equal the blues. Food everywhere! Indulgence can equal the blues. And that's for "regular" people!! We have a few more components thrown into the mix..

One Week Out...
I know it's hard to stay on liquids my doctor had me on two weeks full liquids. Really in that first couple of weeks your stomach is still swollen and numb. So it's a very safe thing to do, staying on liquids. That being said when the third week came around I was a chicken, watery instant mash potato and gravy blending fool!

How was your 5:2 day today?
Oh Jane! The "change" oh maybe that's it?? I'm 47 but still have very heavy periods.. That is until this month. I started and two days later nothing. OMG THE CHANGE!! I'M OLD! And maybe that's why I'm feeling off? Oh, and Steven yes I don't think he's a misogynist. Trust me I've run across one or two if those in my day.

Jane, I'm sorry you are not feeling a 100% did the numbness just start or has it been there all along? Ex'es yep there is a reason they are ex'es pains in the butt... your right Steven is sexist or at least that comment is.. Oh that thread, I subscribed to it the first day to kinda keep an eye out.. You know the up and down feelings, I've been experiencing that a lot.. For no reason really. I get irritated really easy.. My husband told me last night that he's not even sure he knows me anymore. I told him lots of people (I'm a Gemini ) but I know I've been on edge and get angry or sad easy these days. Oh Christmas?? This is my attitude the last two days out there shopping..

Hubby issues
I think even though I feel and look so much better and everything should be "improved" I feel my relationship with my husband is going through growing pains... Yesterday I asked if he still liked me and he said "I'm just trying figure out who you are, I feel like I don't know you anymore" I have changed I guess.. I'm the same person and love my husband as much as I did before. But I'm a bit more vocal if I'm dissatisfied (don't have my food to comfort sooth anymore) This process is so much more than just a physical one.. All we can do is keep taking and be honest with our feelings same with the spouses. Marriages are full of peaks and valleys..

Anybody Else Cheating?
ten days post op your stomach is still very numb and swollen... Please be careful as to what you eat because you may not "feel" much until it is too late.. There is a reason why they have you measure and weigh food and eat the appropriate types of food

HELP! Carnation instant breakfast?
The protein shakes for some people are hard to get down after surgery. I would experiment with flavorings like the torani syrups added to your shakes.. They are very important to healing. So need to be consumed In The first weeks I got lucky and actually liked the premier shakes.

Did any of you have food funerals prior to starting your preop diet?
So not all of us do.. I did at one point go to the grocery store and bought a pint of ice cream to eat before the pre op.. And as I've said here before after I ate it, there was nothing... It didn't make me feel special, happy or content. It was just gone. I guess because thinking about it, it was that kind of behavior that got me to the point of being morbidly obese and needing to do something so radical like cutting 85% of my stomach out.. I think to if you do this (eat everything) it will just add to the total that needs to be lost.
