Did you have a catheter ?

May I ask why everyone is so scared of a catheter?? Is there something I'm missing? Just curious...
  2. Ok one more thing have you tried a different PPI? I have read plenty of times here that one didn't work and the doc prescribed another and everything thing got better..
  3. My god your a giant!! Are you a man?? I mean men can eat more... But I guess a tall woman could too.. I'm a shorty.
  4. Yes citrate is more easily absorbed with our new stomachs.. It important that it is citrate. You will not find them in chews unless you order them online, there are powders and pills in pharmacies though.
  5. I was sitting here trying to remember my six week mark... Then I realized oh easy memory! We were at Disneyland. I got hungry but it was more like my body would feel weak and shaky, not stomach growing and rumbling, now when we walked past the sweet shops could I have eaten them? Hell yeah! I had to chose not too.. At that point I was still drinking shakes and soft food like hummus and deli type meats .
  6. I don't think you are off base.. Part of my food addiction was eating until it was painful and when the pain went away I was "hungry" again and would eat some more. Constantly trying to "fill the hole" I still deal with overcoming this at four months its a day by day thing... Sad but true... Yes frozen dinners not good! Just designed to make you want more I don't care who makes them healthy choice, Atkins they are all the same!
  7. I must say one more thing here... There are a lot of people who think their hunger will be taken away..I'm sure someone will come along soon and say "I never feel any hunger" But there are also a lot of us that this is not necessarily true for! I get real hunger. I was never promised it would go away.. But stronger than that I still deal with head hunger (which by the way feels like real hungry) we have to still work through these issues and learn a different way of living and eating.
  8. Try getting rid of the pre packaged meals. Keep your meals simple protein and veggies. Track for a week or two to get amounts and how often. I know if I sneak any pre packaged foods in. A cycle of wanting to eat more always starts! Eat simple whole foods for two weeks track record and after that take a look and show it to your doctor to see what he thinks about your hunger level...

  15. I must disagree with the dry chicken from boiling! When you boil it to almost falling off the bones moist flavorful and yummy! ( yes I like boiled chicken)
  16. Or you can just do it easy like I do.. Stock pot chicken salt pepper Water filled up over the chicken boil for an hour. Pull chicken cool and shred the chicken off the bones, a bit messy but you get all the chicken and a good mix of light and dark meat together. You definitely can get fancy and put more thing in the water to make soup! But honestly my kids are sick of chicken soup and even when I did it they just liked plain broth and meat...sometimes rice. I use the shredded chicken for salads, plain or with hummus or put Mexican seasons in for burritos for the family and I just eat the filling.

Husband rant -- am I asking too much?

You are young... And going through a lot of changes. By the things you said I'm going to assume this is not brand new behavior for him. I can't imagine a person going from 0 to 60 like that. It's not the end of the world if you two don't make it. And it sounds like there are no children involved! Which is a good thing. A marriage is a wonderful thing when the two people love and respect each other. But it's not something that I would want to stay in if the respect and love is missing and one person was unwilling to make the necessary adjustments, neither should you. I'm sorry and i know it's so much to go through on top of this life changing surgery. I wish you well. Please take care, Laura
  23. For the hospital I wore extra big sweats so coming home was more comfortable.. And a really big zip up sweatshirt to throw on over my hospital gown for when I went walking through the halls! You will be walking right after surgery. Other than that make sure you have a variety of things to drink off of your approved list. Oh and homemade chicken broth! Way better than the nasty tasting can stuff.
  24. I boil a chicken (whole) every week... Cheap moist not salty... I shred the meat off the bones and use it all week for dishes.
