  1. I am almost 8 months post op, surg 9/12/12 and I am down 127 lbs, but this includes my pre op diet also. I am very satisfied with my progress and I am also at a stall right now. I haven't lost must in the last month, I actually have gained a pound or two over the weeks. But I know why, I have become a little too comfortable with my eating. I eat 100 whole wheat bread, just one slice 50 cal and 8 carbs and I have started craving sweets. I try to fix low carbs treats for those moments but I just need to go back to the basics. I do go to the gym at least 3 days a week, I just love planet fitness!!! Hopefully I will back and track soon, good luck and continued success to to my fellow September sleevers!!!

  2. I am 7 months post op and YES my hair starting falling out, not in clumps or anything, but if I ran my fingers through my hair I would have a lot in my hands. When I brushed my hair more would come out. My fair was pretty long and thick, so I had I cut it real short and now my hair is healthy again. It doesn't shed anyone and its not as thin looking. Might want to think about cutting it a little. Good luck.

  3. At first I didn't tell anyone but my boss also. When I told her she volunteered that she had the gastric bypass a few years ago. I had only told a few people before surgery but when I returned to work I pretty much told whoever asked because I didn't want to hide in a corner at lunch time. All of my co workers were very supportive and still is. Having that support at work keeps me on my toes. They make sure I don't fall back and eat those sweet and sugary doughnuts!!! Glad they know, good luck!!

  4. @newgrandmother, girl don't feel bad or beat yourself up about, we all make those types of mistake. I hate it when I don't bring my lunch to work, then I am forced to buy something from the cafeteria. Luckily we have a Chic fil a now and I usually get small side salad.< /p>

Lately I have been craving sweets though, darn that pinterest! But I just try to reduce the amount of my serving and I good. Right now I wanted a Coconut Cake, and its in the oven know only 4 carbs per serving and it is soooo yummy and satisfy that sweet tooth.

Take other's advise about having a back up plan at work with Protein Bars or something that you can easily store.

Good luck with your continued success!!!

  5. I know I need to be asking my doctor and nut these questions but I don't go back until 29th so I thought u start here first...

U am 3 1/2 months out and just don't know what I should but more concerned about, fat or carb intake. I'm not really keeping track of either and I know I should but sometimes it just gets a little frustrated and overwhelming.

So what are my fellow sleeves just starting this journey are going by FATS VS CARBS!!

  6. Just wanted to share a little thought. I was sleeved 9/12/12 and feeling good. I have my bad days but I can honestly say best decision ever made. I am slowly posing but that's ok, IM LOSING! The holidays I did really good only had a few bites of this and that but I did dabble in a few sweets. I am still on the losing side so no complaints.

This picture was taken Christmas Day (hopefully it will post) and I felt a lot better than I did the last year.

How did my fellow sleeves do this holiday season?

  7. Hey fellow Sept sleeves...I was sleeved on 9/12/12 and I am down 47 lbs and I feel great. The only problem is I 'm starting to feel comfortable withy sleeve. Sometimes when i eat my thin crackers I may drink right after a few sips with no problem. I also have had a few sweets. Buy other than that I'm doing good.

Now I have to start working out to help with losing the weight and toning up.

P.s. if anyone haven't tried Emily bites you should. I am hooked. I have tried the lasagna and taco, with my little twist , and they are great!!!

  8. I'm in! (Hopefully I do this correctly!)

    Highest weight: 489lbs

    Day of Surgery: 385lbs (10/25/2012)

    Current Weight: 345lbs (3wks post-op)

    New Years Goal: 325lbs

(Okay' date=' so typing the numbers out was extremely humiliating- so much so that I cried. Am I alone in how ashamed I am? This is an awful feeling- especially when so many others are so very small in comparison! It feels hopeless!)[/quote']

Don't be ashamed of the numbers. They should no longer define the beautiful person you are. I share the same starting weight. I was 489 on 10/26/2011 and now I am down to 396. My New Year's goal weight is 365. So we are very similar with our weight loss, I am 9 weeks post op. We can do this just stay focused!!
