When Did You Have A Bm Post Op?

I'm also on my Post Op Day 3 and I haven't had a BM yet either. I hadn't passed gas in the hospital either until last night and today I had occasional passing gas movements. I was put on a strictly liquid pre op diet for a week prior to surgery and today was the first day that I had 'Food' in my stomach. I had greek yogurt which is still on the Full liquid diet. So it seems understandable that we haven't had a BM yet. There's barely anything in our system. I'm expecting to have a BM sometime over the weekend as I'll have more Full liquids such as Yogurt and Cream of Wheat and Creamy Tomato Soup in me. At least I'm hoping I will. I don't have any desire to go and just can't, I just don't have the desire yet as there's just not enough in my system that needs to be flushed. I've been on strictly liquids until today
  5. My surgeon also said no caffiene, no carbonation and no alcohol. She did advise that alcohol can be consumed for speical occasions such as My brithday, New Years and christmas. The reason I'm not allowed carbonation is that it will expand my sleeve and I'm definitely not interested in that at all. I find it so interesting that each doctor is different in their approach!

    Very Nasty

I'm on Post Op day 3 and I'm taking two pills by mouth. Pepcid and Lofton are pills for me and they're so small that I can't even feel them. I also take a sublingual Levsin. But I consulted my surgeon after I found out that I would be taking pills and what she advised is that as long as the pills are smaller than a plain M&M they can be taken. If they're bigger than that, it will cause blockage. This is one of her FOREVER rules. After having been on the site for only a few days (I wish I had found this forum before my surgery as it would have been helpful) I can definitely see that each doctor is different and as long as you're listening to your own personal doctor and explaining everything that is happening to you in a timely manner, you should follow their instructions. I find it very interesting how many different ways the surgery can be handled. I almost had a panic attack after reading this and everyone saying you shouldn't be on pills but when I called my surgeon, she advised that everyone is different (patients and doctors alike) and because she's done so many surgeries she finds that people can handle the pills as long as they do it responsibly and according to her instructions. But I would definitely say that you should make a call to your surgeon each time something seemingly serious occurs. So good instructions everyone I appreciate you opening my eyes to the ways others are doing things so that I question why I'm doing something so that I educate myself to the utmost about my surgery!
