  1. You probably won't. It really depends on your breast makeup. If you have really fatty breast tissue then, yes, you might lose quiet a bit. If your breasts are more dense tissue then you probably won't lose much. I had a breast reduction 10 years ago. Vi had vsg in feb. I have lost about 60 lb since surgery and my cup size hasn't changed. I was a c cup before surgery and I still am. Maybe slightly less full but not much. My band size has reduced some though. I wouldn't worry about it too much : ). Good luck!

  2. NSV for me today. My daughter had been at a camping trip over the weekend. When I went to pick her up, I was walking toward her from the car and she looked at me and said, "you're getting skinny mom!". I haven't heard those works ever : ) it was really nice. I was 221 pre-surgery. Day of surgery I was 200. I had surgery 2/25 and I am now 173.5. It feels really good.

  3. I think it may depend on your insurance and doctor. I was 36.8 when I started the program with my doc and 33.3 on day of surgery. I asked the question at my first appointment and was told they go off of you original weight (first appointment). It's definitely something you should ask up front. I am now 2 months out and my bmi is 29.5....overweight but not obese : ). I was concerned about having a lower bmi and having surgery....but now 2 months out, I am so glad I did it. Good luck!

  4. Well, I will chime in here. I was actually given one at the hospital. I was having abdominal pain (incisional) and I had a lot of wpswelling around my largest incision. They told me to wear it for support. I wore it when I was walking and sometimes while I was in bed. I tend to use my abdominal muscles a lot when trying to get in and out of bed and that just aggregated the pain I was having at my incisions. I have continued to use it at home if I was having pain related to activity and it has helped a lot. Mine was 12 inch and kent from under m ybreast down below my belly button. It did feel a bit uncomfortable at first due to all of the swelling but after a few days it was really helpful I thought.

  5. Just looking for some insight from people who have "been there". I am 2 weeks out and honestly, food is unappealing right now. Before surgery I went out and got Soups, tuna, chicken salad fixings...all these things that I could eat on a mushy/soft diet. It all sounded so good when I was on my pre-op diet and now none of it sounds good. From previous experience....have any of you had this happened if so, when did it get better. I really do want to be able to eat again and somewhat enjoy it. I am also kind of afraid to try new things as I don't want to get sick. Any words of wisdom or advise???

  6. I had my surgery on the25th and came home today also. I had the exact sme thing happen. I could watch tv fine but looking at my phone to text or read here and it was impossible. Did they put a scopolamine patch behind your ear for nausea? I had one and when I spoke to the doctor he believe that was the culprit. The medication in it can cause your pupils to dilate something causing the blurred vision. I took mine off this morning and it is slowly resoliving. Hope this helps.

  7. My surgery is scheduled for February 25th. I have my Preop appointment this coming Thursday and I am close to the 10 lb weight loss required prior to this pre-op appointment....so I started my liquid diet 2 days early. I know I will be where I need to be for this appointment....but this liquid diet is going to be hard. I am drinking the Atkins advantage shakes. I can have 4 per day....that means as of right now I have 62 left to drink before my surgery....I don't know if I should laugh or cry : ). I am excited about the upcoming changes in my life and look forward to what is to come. I am also nervous about my ability to stick with it. How did you deal with feeding the rest of your family while on the liquid diet? I made Breakfast for everyone this morning but I have a feeling that is going to get very hard to do over the next few days.

  8. I went to the information session in August. I had my first appointment with the doctor mid December after losing the required 10 lb and finishing all of the required appointments. After that I had to wait for the surgery schedule to open up. They called me the first week of January with my surgery date and pre op appointment.

  9. You have the right as a patient to request a copy of your medical records (at least in the US you do). Simply speak with the medical records department at your hospital and ask for copies of all documents related to that specific hospitalization. You may have to pay for the copies but, I think it is worth having the documentation especially if you move and need to be seen by another doctor.

  10. I finally got my surgery date today : )

My pre-op appt is February 14th and surgery is scheduled for Febuary 25th : ). Excited and nervous....it's hard to think/believe that I might actually be on my way to a thinner/healthier life in a few short weeks : )
