    Pre Op diet

Im allowed non starchy veggies and nutrition bars given to me by my Drs office. They also gave me some mix for shakes/pudding, and hot chocolate.
  3. Day two is going a lot better. Yesterday I stayed home because I was worried that if I went out and did anything I would be extra tempted to cheat. Turns out it's actually good for me to get out because I'm not thinking about food so much. I went to Starbucks with a friend and sipped on a plain coffee while we visited:)

    Buying smaller sizes pre-op

If I did get anything it would be wardrobe staple pieces that I could wear any time of the year since who knows what I will be come winter time. Not that Louisiana gets very cold.
  5. Thank you all for the help and support. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this that understands... So I come here instead
  6. Thanks I may try that. I had broth from a powder mix tonight and it was good... If I could do that for lunch instead of that fake chocolate bar thing I would be a lot better off. I'm not big on sweets and everything they gave me is sweet minus the soups for dinner.
  7. Omg bless your heart.... Good luck!
  8. Good luck! I hope the time flies by for you.
  9. So you're just a bitch then...thanks for clearing that up.
  10. It's nutramed brand. I have to eat from what the dr gave me. c'mon! you can do this - if you want it bad enough! find a shake that you can drink and drink it! Syntrax makes a shake that tastes pretty good - i like it - the chocolate is pretty tasty - and the ones that mix in Water are good too! it really is something you just gotta get used to tasting lol! Good luck to you!
  11. I didn't do two of the "snacks" today. I just couldn't even imagine eating more of that pudding stuff so I ate nothing. I hope it doesn't mess things up if I skip some of these snacks... So log as I don't cheat and eat things that I'm not allowed.

    Favorite YouTubers?

Lauren Vento "The happiest woman on earth" is my fav.
  16. Do you think your sleeve gives you the ability to eat portions like a thin, healthy person who is unsleeved normally eats? Or.... Do you feel like no matter how far out from surgery you are, you will never eat like a person that hasn't been sleeved. I hope I'm making sense lol! I may not be wording my question well. I haven't had surgery yet and I have this worry that I will always feel like a freak when it comes to eating around others.
  17. Is it better to hide the scale for the first month?
  18. IMO.... I would just bring what you would normally take with you to eat...you are there to learn...if it's not good then it's best to know what to do about that for later.
  19. I know just how you feel. Three years ago I was you and when my insurance denied me, instead of appealing, I let them win and I gave up. Now I am on the cusp of actually getting the sleeve (July 6th). It finally clicked for me and I told myself this time that if I chose to make another appt with my surgeon that would be IT. My choice would be made and I would just stick to it and not look back. That's what I have done. Sure I am nervous...who wouldn't be, but this has given me hope that my life doesn't have to be this way forever. It's a massive decision to make and I don't envy where you are on your path. You have to make that call for yourself. I think some people are not ever 100% sure. I second guess myself on everything, all the time. But with this I have refused to talk myself out of it. Not looking back...taking what comes and handling it. Following Dr's orders and trying not to *think* so much. Maybe I wasn't ready three years ago. Maybe I would have had the surgery and not acclimated well or not been ready for the huge mental change that comes with it. I am still worried that I will have issues with the mental part of things but, like I said, I'm not looking back, not questioning myself, and moving forward. Good luck!

    Louisiana Sleevers?

Merriman is mine as well. I really like him. I am excited but nervous too!
  21. Any suggestions on things I need to buy for the hospital stay and for after I get home? Should I start doing something now in order to prepare for surgery in a month? If you could go back to a month before your surgery and do something different (or do the same again because it worked so well) what would you do? What would you tell yourself? I'm excited/nervous but I think if I had a better idea on what I should do for preparation it would take some of the anxiety away. Thankful for any ideas!

    Louisiana Sleevers?

Getting sleeved a month from today. I'm in Bossier...How are you feeling so far? Who was your dr?
  23. I keep reading that hair loss may happen after surgery. Are we talking clumps of hair? Thinning? Need for wigs and hats? Does it grow back? This may seem like a trivial thing to worry about but I'd like my hair to stay on my head.
