    Soft crackers?

I was allowed saltines at week 4. If you chew them really well they go down easy.
  2. My scale hasn't moved in nearly two weeks. I will be a month post op on August 6th. Is this normal???

How long was your longest stall?

I think I will take the advice of staying away from the scale.... It's making me kind of crazy.
  4. Y'all..... This pudding/smoothie/nutrition bar stuff is GROSS. I wasn't expecting it to taste like a dream but I didn't think it would make me feel sick. I gagged trying to eat the pudding earlier....How am I going to make it 7 days?! I'd rather eat air than this mess and I haven't even gotten to lunch yet. Someone please say it will all be worth it (and say it with feeling so I believe you ).
  5. It should be illegal how many commercials there are for food. Ps. Harry Potter Forever

    Effexor and slow weight loss

I'm on the same med and I've lost 30 lbs since the start of July... Surgery July 6th. I haven't noticed that it's causing any issues but I've also been considering switching to something else.
  7. My recovery hasn't been easy. Feeling very weak and get tired out doing the most simple things like taking a shower. I didn't start shakes until week three which was this past Monday and that's helped some but I'm not anywhere near where I thought I would be stamina wise at this point. I can have eggs and cheese now too so I'm hoping by next week I will feel more human. Also I got thrush from the antibiotics in the hospital so I've been dealing with that. It's caused some nausea. I've lost 28lbs so far.

I'd rather....than continue to be fat!

When I was on my preop diet I wrote down all the things I hate about being big and all the things I wanted to do once I was smaller on a piece of cardstock and put it on the fridge. I had words crammed in everywhere, sideways, upside down. When I felt weak I would look at it.
  9. I disagree. As difficult as the past two weeks have been post-op, it's still easier than that pre op diet. Everyone deals with things differently. And yes I do get hungry but it's satisfied quickly. And yes I am cranky with my family for being able to eat whatever but I know that's about me... Not them... And I'm trying to curb that. Plus I've lost 25 lbs.... Which makes the post op drama a little more worth it.
  10. I felt better after day 5 with inscions but I still have some soreness in two of them.

I am flat out hungry (rant)

I believe you! Week two is tough.
  12. I start the soft foods on Monday. After a week of yogurt I want something to look forward to and plan.... Ideas? What did yall do?
  13. Im 7/6 and I feel the same way. I had an upset stomach last night and couldn't sleep. I was asking myself what the hell had I done.... But I'm trying to remember that I'm still very new and things will get easier. I have to believe that. Try to distract yourself when those thoughts come around and don't stew... Makes it worse.

    Day 2 pretty miserable

Yes that's totally normal. Your body just went through a lot. Be kind to yourself.... It gets better each day.
  15. I went on morning of day 6. MOMs did help. But call your surgeon and see what they suggest. Different Drs like different methods.
  16. I was sleeved on July 6 and I have no energy still. I'm hoping when i can start more regular foods that will change. I've lost 23 lbs... This includes the weight I lost on my pre op diet.

    Ideas for soft food phase....

    Thanks!!!!
  18. So.....my tongue has a white film on it. I looked it up and it said that's mild dehydration. I feel like I've been drinking water nonstop! How much water did your surgeon say you needed to drink a day?

    Milk of magnesia

So I was sleeved a week ago and still haven't pooped. My dr tells me to take MOM so I do but I'm not even half way thru the dose before I get this strong ache/cramp in my stomach.... What IS that? It goes away fairly quickly but it freaks me out. Lord, I just wanna pooooooooo! I don't ask for much lol!

    Recovery time

I'm a week and a day out and I take pain meds in the morning and before bed. The soreness is better but can still become too uncomfortable at points during the day so I have to sit and take it easy. I have very little energy and my muscles feel weak.

    Carb Confusion?!

Total carbs is where it's at. There some advanced carb counting that involves how much fiber is included.. Then you subtract carbs based on that fiber number but I'm not familiar with that method. Anything 5 and under I don't count unless of course you eat two or three of that item.
  22. The more you walk and sit up the better that will get. During surgery they pump air inside you to see things clearly. The gas pain was the worst part for me too... Have to walk.

    Milk of magnesia

Well the eagle landed this morning....though it wasn't pleasant. As my friend told me when I expressed my worry about when it actually does happen, "Just grip the wall and pray" LOL!
