  1. Thanks for sharing this, I have been working on my outlook few days ever since I got my date (9/9/13) This is a journey and I have to accept my new lifestyle and master it! It wont be easy every step of the way... but I have already told my inner voice to shut up, being a negative Nellie and change to a positive Pammie!! LOL I already have enough people in my space that will share their negative thoughts on my decision. Which is why I have already told those people so they can get it out the way now and not post-op when I will be full of emotions! Good luck to you and continued success.

  2. I went through Kaiser but on the other side of the country. I could not even register for my first class (with the Nut) before my psych eval. As far as I know the psych evals are the same for all of Kaiser.

Mine was done by phone and I was asked about 15 starter questions. It was not as intense and some where you have to meet face to face and answer over 100 questions. Call your Nut and ask if you can just schedule your eval now.

Don't get frustrated, you've done a great job. To put things into perspective, I finished my 6 months in 7 months (they were lazy with getting my paperwork done - so I had to take matters into my own hands), then I spent another 5 months waiting for a surgery date. I was told the wait for the surgeon was at least a year so I switched and could not have been happier.

Had I been scheduled when I first was approved, I would have missed out on my great surgeon. Relax, and realize most of us have had some set back, you can do this.

Also, during the time of my pre-op process, I kept tracking my food and as if I would still meet with my Nut. I didn't gain anything back (even when I went on vacation). Keep watching what you eat and you'll do great.

I think on the west coast Kaiser moves a lot faster. I also, had a long wait that was going to be even longer if I had not start fussing and demanding other options. I was almost at six months waiting on a date.. until another Kaiser patient told me to try to change hospitals. I called they said no... then I went off. two days later I got the call with a date for the same hospital. They were telling me I would have to wait another 5-6 months after I have already waited 6 months! But things worked out great in the end and now I'm back to loving Kaiser! LOL Just waiting for Sept.9th

  3. I will be having surgery Sept 16 at 730am. Still have a few things to pass. Meet with the nut and get clearance from a psych but those are scheduled

time is moving slow right now... but when August get here... I think the time will seem to move much faster!! Congrats and good luck!!

  4. I am from Maryland, and will be sleeved on September 9th. But what I would recommend is that you start doing is reading as much as you can about the sleeve so you can have a good understanding of what your post sleeve life will be. This site has some great information and wonderful people with lots of knowledge that they don't mind sharing with you. Also, most insurances may require you to take a few seminars, those are helpful also. Good luck to you :)

  5. I'm so happy to have my date, I have to get my Clarence letter from primary and some blood work. I have my second appointment with surgeon on August 16th I hope all goes well. I started this process May 2012 and now here I am!! I have jump through just about all the loops and hoops they require!!!!! Good luck to everyone with September as your month. :)
