  1. For me, I have heard nothing but great things from both Dr's, so at that point, its the price that made the difference for me
  2. I tried Almond milk for the first time today to start making my pre op shakes tomorrow. I really love it!! I didn't see unsweetened though, should the regular be ok?
  3. Heading to Olive Garden to get my last fix of fettuccine Alfredo and breadsticks! Pre op diet starts tomorrow
  4. Also, mentioning bougie size, Dr Garcia does use the 32 as standard but if u request, he will do a 36 instead. The diff is only a few mm I believe. I am not sure which size I prefer. They say the smaller the size, the more chance for leaks but I know 32 is standard
  5. I am hoping since I get my surgery on Tues and won't be flying till Sat, that will give me a few days as well to do as much walking as possible. So glad to hear of your success! I can't wait to hit onderland
  6. I told my Dr of my fear of clots, especially when flying. My flight is only 3 hours, but I am not sure if I will be able to walk up and down the isle. He said if not, while sitting in the seat just lift your leg off the ground and do ankle flexes, forward and downward, so you are stretching your calf muscle. He said that when you walk, its the stretching of that large muscle that really pushes the blood through, so you can simulate that while sitting. Try and get up and move, but this might help if you can't!
  7. Here are some things I am packing based on reading others posts: Heating pad (helps with pain, and comforting) Ear plugs sleep mask Chapstick (lips get very dry and cracked) Biotene dry mouth spray (gives moisture especially right after when u can't drink water) Slipper with non slip bottoms for lots of walking Comfy, loose fitting pants or clothes Would love to hear other suggestions
  8. All of us 4th'ers, almost one more week!!! Woo hoo!!!!
  9. Enjoy your turkey day!! Sending blessings your way
  10. Ok, so found out my insurance will cover complications which is nice, but obviously not hoping for any! My question is once we get back, for normal post op care do we just see our regular PCP or does it have to be with a specialist?
  11. I called my insurance and they will cover any complications! They said if it is medically necessary, they will cover it. I just have to meet my deductible. So I think I will find a bariatric Dr that will agree to see me post op for follow ups This makes me feel a lot better, if complications arise!
  12. I would like to hear her story. You have to take the bad with the good. Thanks
  13. Thanks for your reply, but I am looking for people who have had their surgery in Mexico. I don't want to turn this thread into an argument on why we choose what we do
  14. I read alot about complications on this forum in general, but mostly from those with Dr's in the US. Has anyone whose done their sleeve in MX had leaks, complications, etc? Not saying the good old USA isn't up to par, but I find it a bit odd that most of those are not from the one place that everyone freaks out about. I am pro-Mexico, can you tell? lol I would love to hear both sides about MX and not just the good, from those who have actually had it there!! I am not talking about experiences with coordinators, etc. Just complications. Thanks!!
  15. U will do great!! Let us know how u r feeling:) prayers and thoughts going out for a easy surgery and recovery!!
  16. Please let us know how you are feeling!!
  17. SO happy for you both!! Keep us posted on your success!!! You are in my thoughts and prayers
  18. I am 2 weeks from today!!! Next week will fly by too!! Once its down to a few day, I am gonna really start to freak out!!
  19. Ugh, I live in Chicago in the good ole USA, would you care to guess the murders/robberies, etc on a daily basis? But I get your reservations and nervousness, TRUST ME! lol
  20. I believe it is a patch that goes on the back of your shoulder to help with nausea. I am gonna ask my Dr about it this week. You prob need a script. I did hear that the hospital there had them, but i wanted to be sure Suzthebrit, I am hoping for the best, lol. I hate throwing up!!!! yuck!!!!
  21. I am bringing or asking for the scoplomine patch just in case! lol
