U can contact each dr or coordinating service for their prices. Not sure about dates. I know I wouldn't want to be on the hospital on Christmas eve or day though you should maybe go the week after Xmas so u can be home by New Years to Celebrate the NEW you
Instead of making a resolution, be the example
Good luck in your decision!!!!

How are you feeling? Good luck on your new journey

So the above post was a Facebook message I received from Dr. Garcia himself when I mentioned that someone had heard negative things about him.I love his honesty and I can say I have never been better taken care of than I was with him and his team.
It's a great testament to his character to take time to write you back. This goes along with everything ever said about him being caring and treating his patients so wonderfully.
I am so happy and confident in my decision to use him. And as he stated, he is also a general surgeon, so he is able to deal with other issues that might arise.

I just asked Ronda 2 weeks ago about his cost, so that should be the most current cost with Lighter Me.
I know if you go other places besides Tijuana the cost goes up, so maybe that is what you saw?
I think either company will give u a good experience, just find the cost that fits your budget

Thanks everyone those r great ideas

Dr Garcia is 4700 with R4C and Ronda with ALM quoted me 4800 with him. I think those r the only 2 services he works with, but I could be wrong.
Good luck!

I didn't even think of a wheelchair! I know the walking is good after surgery especially for the clots and gas.
I may try and walk it on my own, by we will see! Thanks!

Hey all u Mexican beauties!!
I am not sure about how much money to bring and do I tip in pesos? I know there is a Walmart there but do they accept American ?
I would love tips/feedback from anyone who has gone. Thanks!!

Aw thanks! I LOVE diet coke! Lol the whole idea of not eating/drinking at same time is hard for me. I drink a lot when I eat.
I am trying to prepare mentally most of all. I am getting in a few foods (mostly carbs) that I know I will not be able to have for a while, but not over doing it.
I am going alone. Hubby has to work and kids have school. But alma knows I am alone and she is gonna take good care of me plus, the only time I will really be alone is at the hotel any way.
I will post as much as I can as I go along. I M trying to get some Xmas shopping done too lol!!

Awesome! Congrats! I will be there on Dec 4th with him, so I will be sure and post my experience!!
So happy for u

I want to keep it a secret just among my family a few choice friends.
My question is what do u say when your acquaintances and people u see in a daily basis notice your drastic weight loss?
I don't want to explain it to every person and justify my reasoning.
I think I will just say I have been watching what I eat and exercising (which is not a lie)

I personally heard Jenine saying ready4change stole their databaseNot sure about that since ready 4 change was the first original service since 2003.
But it's not my place to say either way. People should just choose what dr they feel most comfortable with as their first priority, the coordinating service is nice perk.

I don't believe that Ready 4 a Change has trashed anyone. I have heard however that the coordinator for A Lighter Me has given different answers to different people about certain surgeons.

I am going to Tijuana alone next month. I have heard that everyone feels very safe and unless u r at the hotel u r never really alone.
I would love my hubby to go but someone has to stay with the kiddos and bring home the bacon!
Good luck

I have heard that taking pills is pretty much a no no after surgery, so I am wondering what everyone takes at home for pain, headaches, etc.
Thanks!!

I have heard that you can get a patch from the hospital (scopolomine?), but just in case they don't have one, is that something that my PCP can prescribe me to take with me to the hospital?
I get nausea and throw up after I have anesthesia So I am anticipating the worst, lol

I have heard back from alma. Don't feel it is ethical to post her exact words, but there was only 1 fatality in the last 2 yrs and it was after patient was released and had a known heart condition. She said the family of that patient still refers people to the Dr. Since they knew it wasn't surgery related.
As to Lighter Me, they are asking Dr Garcia to stay on with their service, why would they want a surgeon with fatalities on board?
My guess is that they know he is leaving their coordinating business and now trying to convert his surgeries to dr Lopez.

I will definitely be sporting those stylish compression stockings!! Lol

Dr Jesus Ortiz that you are speaking of is a newer surgeon. He was trained by Dr Lopez and his wife. I believe Ronda said that Dr Lopez assists in his surgeries. He only does the sleeve also, from what I remember.
Good luck in your decision:)

hmm, funny, when I first enquired with Ronda from A Lighter Me about having surgery, she pushed all of the Dr's except Dr Garcia and said she would not choose to go with him beucase he was having discord among his staff and was unorganized, etc.
Now he is killing patients?? I would definately like to hear from the Dr himself, although we have no way of knowing if he is telling the truth I guess.
I am staying with my choice to go with him. Personal stories and knowing people who have actually been with him means more to me than a random post by someone new on these boards

I have heard great things about the hospital being clean, and staff friendly, even from those who went with different Dr.
But ya know, everyone is human, and never perfect, so chances are you got them on a bad day sorry for your troubles, hope your surgery a went well regardless
