Were do you have staples?

i would really look more into the sleeve and not the band. I have had a lot of patients have many issues with the band. What are you thinking is too much weight?

It feels like surgery day will never get here but I know it will be here before I know it! Getting real anxious and nervous. It's funny how you know for a long time this is something you want but when it getts to be reality you start having all these thoughts of,is this the right thing,will I be a failure,will I lose weight,will this really make a difference. But then I read post on here of people that have had such success with the surgery and have such a better quality of life and then I know...this IS the right choice for me! I have a super support team all around me and ready to take this journey on!!!

Vols fan,that's great that u don't have a pre op diet. I would be worried I couldn't lose the 10 lbs. on my own. Think I'm goin to be starving those two weeks! My tummy will still be large.....lol

I am right there with y'all. I am bein sleeved 1/30/13! Start preop diet on the 16th. Very nervous about the preop diet. We will have to keep each other updated for sure! I'm in Texas by the way

I am getting very anxious, I am down for Jan.30th! Hope that all that have been sleeved already are doin well. Can't wait to be post op myself.

Well here I am a month later and I thought January was so far out! Really! Cause now I am only 5 weeks away from surgery date! 5 weeks is real close!

Just want to say Merry Christmas to my fellow pre-op buddies! I am 5 weeks away from surgery and it hits me,this WILL BE my LAST Christmas as a extra large women! Can't wait to compare pictures next year! You all have a super Christmas! Much love

I am Jan.30th!!! Yay....so ready!

Got my surgery date today! Yay! My tummy was all in knots after getting that call. Excitement and nerves both! Will start preop diet on 1/16/2013. Not lookin forward to that but will be so worth it! Preop appointment is 1/15/2013, it last all day! 10:30 til about 4:00....wow! Labs,EKG,Dr visit,nurse visit,financial counselor and last NUT! I'll be exhausted after that day,lol!

Thanks guys... I am so ready to actually have a date that I can put on the calendar! Hope to hear something next week.

Well surgery was approved on Tuesday. Spoke to surgeons office Wednesday and my chart is on his desk and secretary is waiting for his date to set blast off! I am so ready and nervous. Surgery should be in January!

I am so glad I came across this! I have wondering the same thing. Great topic for us women.

Thanks for sharing,it helps to get ideas for sure. I have dropped 35 pounds in the last year and a half on my own. Had some lows after losing that weight so I am worried about it with rapid loss. My A1C was 6.2 last month. My basal is at about 42 units a day. I know that will change a great deal after surgery. Thanks again.

Hoping for the call by end of week to set up pre-op and actually get a true date. They are bookin beginning of January! Cool to think I could be as close as 6 weeks away from surgery day!! Keepin fingers crossed!
