  1. re: searching... you need to be on the HOME page, as it shows in image 1. Type your search term, press the magnifying glass looking thing. You'll see all the threads that contain coffee in them pop up. You may be only searching the current forum that you're in, which would bring you limited results because it's not searching the full site. To do a full search of the site, go to the home page and do it from there.
  2. I drink coffee. I get about half a cup down before it's cold and I pour it out.
  3. Some of us can handle more of things like pudding and soup than others. I can get about half a container of yogurt down, but if I'm mindlessly eating, I could probably chunk it all down. Good that you feel fine, but be sure to not use it as license to go hog wild... measured, controlled portions.
  4. I tried MoM and it didn't really help. Colace was a Godsend.
  5. I find it funny, actually. Between me and my mom (gastric bypass 12 yrs out) Christmas break was hilarious! My dad just rolled his eyes.
  6. Portion control is the name of the game! i'm only 3 weeks out so I am still learning what the little pulls and "feelings" mean. I eat out of a teacup or a ramekin and only cover the bottom. Sometimes I can't even eat that.
  7. I feel empty... sometimes hunger. Not really the way I felt before surgery, like ravenous and like I could eat the paint off the walls. Just a...hey do you think you could feed me a little something? Thanks. feeling. I like to get something in every 2 hours or so. Otherwise I will go like 6 hours without eating and then I get home and Jelly is MAD. I think "regular" portions are a thing of the past. I talk to a lot of people that are YEARS out and a cup of food is about the norm for them.
  8. I couldn't figure out the spreadsheet but I am in! I'd like to be down 10lbs by 2/14. I am dropping about 2lbs a week so that should be do able. My stats: WI- Fridays Goal- 10lbs Challenge start weight- 237.2 Challenge goal weight 227.0 Plan: I am three weeks out from surgery today. I am starting a walking challenge for myself, trying to do 10 miles by the end of the month. I usually do a 1 or 2 mile Leslie Sansone video 3 to 4 days a week. I've also added a Tiffany Roth workout video. That should get me some inches and hopefully some poundage!
  9. I like the Alpine Punch and I can tolerate the Grape Frost. I thought I would like the Apple Melon but it's just too much for me. It tastes better when it's ICE COLD. I fill a cup with ice and pour Isopure over it and sip until I can fit more in there and just keep pouring. The days when I can get down the whole bottle (there for 40grams of protein) I lose better. I'm about to start stocking up on the stuff. I have also mixed a little bit of crystal light Appletini to kick at the taste a little bit. it does have an odd aftertaste but the Alpine is tolerable.
  10. I was sleeved 10 days ahead of you and I don't move to soft foods until tomorrow. It could be that your sleeve just isn't ready for it. My doc says it takes 21 days for the sleeve to completely heal and until then we should baby it and not push its limits. Broth, shakes and yogurt at 2.5 weeks out doesn't seem odd to me.
  11. I'm sure people vary the pre op diet to fit their own needs without any consequence, however I would talk with your surgeon about modifying the diet and not go behind his back about it. He might help you come up with something workable that will still achieve the goals he has set. Every doc has a different pre op diet but they all prescribe it for a reason. If your BMI is at a certain level, fatty liver is a risk. Getting off any additional weight can be nothing but a benefit to you. I did 2 weeks of liquids ( that includes drinkable soups) and really it was fine. It's not like hcg where you're limited on calories.
  12. Feeling amazing. And you???
  13. Agreed, eating is cheap right now. I used to spend aobut $100 a week on food. I ate out everyday, never cooked. I can't even imagine it now! Today we had fajita bar for lunch... chicken and steak, veggies, rice, Beans, queso, guac.... whole deal. The pitiful amount of refried beans and cheese I could eat... and out of this tiny ramekin... and I couldn't even eat all that I had dished out! I am amazed.
  14. Only one other person that day. She is a member here- GoodE2shoes. DR A asked who wanted to go first and bestie piped up, "SHE DOES. She's nervous, let's get this over with."
  15. at 4 days out, not much. Maybe a bottle water. Now almost three weeks out I am drinking two to three liters a day. As you heal, you'll be able to get more in. Just keep a bottle in your hand and sip all day.
  16. Most people say they feel tired for the first month after surgery. Once you are able to consume more, you'll have more energy. Protein helps with that as well. It comes and goes for me. GOOD on the baggy clothes. You are losing inches! \o/ I am a few days ahead of you and I've lost 13 lbs. You're not doing too badly, at all!
  17. I was calm until I was on the way to the hospital. I wanted a sedative in the car.
  18. Hang in there! We can't undo this so the only choice we have is to push through it. I know you're not hungry, but try to get in your Protein and your liquids. Also if you haven't uh........gone in awhile, that may be the culprit. Try some colace or miralax or milk of magnesia because the first go after surgery was quite painful for me! I thought I was losing a bit slowly as well, but the body is going to do what it's going to do and we can't control it. We have to learn to roll with it. It does seem to be picking up now, the more protein I get in, the better I lose. How are other things? Shirts getting baggy? Pants falling off? One of the first signs for me was that my knees didn't hurt on the stairs anymore... and that was mere DAYS after surgery. Keep the faith! You'll make it through. Also you probably won't lose weight every day! Be prepared to see the same numbers for a few days/weeks. It happens... ride it out!
  19. There is normally a stall around week three or so and you will stall-- I call them PAUSES, actually--- now and again throughout your journey. I read somewhere that we don't lose pounds and inches at the same time. While you're 'pausing', you're probably dropping inches from all over. Your body needs some time to adjust itself. You just dropped 30 lbs. It can't keep going like that without some kind of recovery. Push through the break, stay on food and keep advancing your diet. Focus on Proteins and get in your Water. It will pick back up!
  20. Chili with cheese and sour cream. GUH.
  21. Thought I'd post it here for any preops ( or anyone who wants to reminisce about Eagle Pass TX or Piedras Negras Mexico. Here it is!
  22. I started mine a few days early and wished I would have started it even sooner.
