    Dang..........

Wow, I haven't updated this thing in awhile. Things are moving right along. i started liquids on Saturday mostly because I just got tired of eating. Has been going great so far, except a few times a night when I get snacky but I push through it with some broth or a protein shake. I have Atkins shakes, Muscle Milk lite, and I have some packets of Protein powder from AboutTime cause those are the only peanut butter flavored shakes I can find. They are pretty good. Not like smoothie king but they don't taste like chalk, so I guess that is good. I weighed in at 255.4 on Saturday and today I am 252.6. Getting back under 250 is a huge priority. I notice the difference in my knees, especially once I get over 250. I should be out of the 250's in a few days and then working my way thru the 240s. I have hope that I will be in the 230's when I head to Mexico. Everything else is going fine, except I've left a million things till the last minute. This week and next weekend are going to be full of prepping my house for Postop + my parent's visit. Busy busy! Will make the time fly right by!

    Dang..........

*nods* Also because my Doc says the better you do pre op, the better you'll do post op. I had a few weeks of OMG EAT EVERYTHING but now I'm okay. Actually Saturday night I really wanted some chicken, but that passed, LOL. Any other time I wouldn't even think about it.

    Dang..........

Yes I like them but they need better flavors. They're basically just there to mix stuff into.

does anyone have a similair experience?

Started my pre-op process yesterday! 12 days to surgery. I am ready!
  6. So Unjury Chocolate Splendor is gross. FYI. LOL.

  7. Surgery two weeks from today. liquid diet starts on Sunday. I have been eating.... not a lot just... the stuff I know I would regret not having "one last" of. Then the few people that know I am having surgery have been like, "let's have lunch/dinner/snacks/shove down some food before you start your liquid diet!" I............ am tired of eating. I have never looked forward to a liquid diet so much! I have an event tonight that's a two drink minimum. Believe me, drinks are all I am having. Light lunch tomorrow with a friend. AND THEN THAT IS IT. I might start liquids tomorrow night. For serious.

OMG I am tired of eating.

I am gonna start liquids today. I'm so ready! Still supposed to have lunch with a friend but she may cancel. If we do meet up, I'll have Soup. 13 days! So psyched!

    trying not to cry, but..

Yep, approval is the hard part! Now just to get on someone's schedule.

OMG I am tired of eating.

I did a few weeks of sparse eating and a few days of liquid only, just to know I could do it. My mother had bypass and my bestie had the sleeve. Both said, "Get it all outta your system. Eat, enjoy. Because once you go on liquids, it's gonna be a LONG time before you can eat anything close to normal." I will have two weeks of liquids only. I figure that'll be payback enough for the last month!

    trying not to cry, but..

It would seem like you're already approved, so they would have to honor that, correct? Check, double check, triple check. Too much work to go through to make you do it all over again.
  12. Starches and sugars probably aren't going to go well. Try some soft protein like retfied beans or scrambled eggs.

    All Time High

Starting my Pre op a few days early. The advice given to me was, "get it aaaaalll outta your system. No regrets, enjoy. Because once you're sleeved you may never eat like that again."

    Plan To Stick Around

Honestly most people rediscover life and don't have time to sit in front if the computer anymore. When people disappear and then check in after awhile its usually because they got too busy living life to be tied to the forums or YouTube or the blogs. Also the further out people get, the more normal they feel until they just don't have anything to talk about. Of they're maintaining, no news is good news.

    Plan To Stick Around

Happens on Youtube too. They lose their weight and then disappear. A FEW people stick around to try and pay back the support they got when they were new. There are a couple of channels (Back to basics, ProofWLS works) but for the most part, a lot of people that I was following in 2009/10/11 have stopped updating.
  19. 18 days. Woot woot!

    Thinking..

You will eventually be able to eat just like a normal person-- just not enormous amounts of food, which ISN'T normal. The 'not being able to eat anything' is very temporary in the grand scheme of things. I think it is normal to grieve food and especially for people like me with a history of binge and emotional eating, it will be essential to find another outlet. Sadness, frustration, depression, anger, happiness cannot be expressed via burgers, pizza and chicken wings anymore.
