    info on financing?

I went through MedicalFinancing.com and chose Dr Alvarez. By all means avoid No Patient Left Behind. SCAMMY.
  2. I am five days out. I'm not hungry at all. Do I want to eat? Yes. Just like I wanted to eat before the surgery. But I'm not hungry.

    Atlanta, Georgia

I live in Marietta. I did check to see if there was a current group but the only one that I see that really needs with any regularity is real results.

You're still in pain? Have you spoken to your doctor? If you have your surgery in a clinic, is that outpatient? It just seems odd that you'd still be in pain. I had my surgery a day after yours and I haven't been in much pain. My doc manages pain well.

    Sleeping on tummy?

I never sleep on my tummy but I probably could right now. I'm a side sleeper and have been able to sleep on my side since around day 3.

    Sleeved this morning

Walking really does help. The cramping is good... my doc says he wants to see/hear movement in your tummy.

Do any of you attend a support group in Atlanta? Real Results has an open meeting once a month. I think I am going to try a few different groups before settling on one. Either that or start one with meetup. I am looking for something that is more than sitting around kvetching about how little one can eat and how many times a person threw up. I want something that's more recipe and book sharing, guest speaker, everyone supporting each other kind of thing. Anyone know of a group in existence like that?

    Merry Festive Occasion!

I had a pretty good day, a little rough. I have had a cough/tickle in my throat since Friday from the tube being down my throat. I don't have surgery related pains but coughing HURTS as do these damn hiccups I have had since last Saturday. I have been go go go since I got home, trying to take advantage of feeling so good. Most people say they feel like ass and have no energy for at least a few weeks but I feel really good. Am not having many eating issues, just the constant being aware of how may grams of protein I have consumed and how many I have yet to get in. Seems like I will be doing okay but then I realize it has taken a half hour to get basically nowhere on a bottle of water. Today I had a few moments of OH MY GOD I AM TIRED and some light headedness so I planted my ass and sat all day. My mom says I am doing too much. I ain't done **** but walk and shop and (drink) eat and watch TV. I'm also learning that I have to get out of the habit of taking extra food because I'm afraid there won't be enough food wherever I am. I bought two bowls of chicken noodle soup to strain the noodles and veggies out of it. I just barely got down one serving of that. WHY IN HELL was I dragging around another bowl of soup, jello, some juice and some Crystal light? Like I can eat all of that?? Anyhoo, I'm home now and have taken meds and me and Jelly are SKRAIT CHILLIN.

    Bowel changes

Once you are eating solid foods with frequency, yes. Right now there's not much to bind the waste together, so.....

    Menstrual Pain Meds

I take an anti acid and a pain pill daily. You can also cut pills in half or crush them. As far as liquid meds go, you won't be chugging 4oz of liquid tylenol. You will be able to take a few tablespoons of medication as needed.

I pushed myself a little too much today.

I have been taking advantage of feeling SO GOOD, but today I hit a wall. I am going to rest up tomorrow.
  12. I agree that you should be fine by yourself but you def want someone to stop by once or twice a day. I've had to go to the store every day since I got home. Also you will be on a lifting/driving restriction so you won't be able to do things like pick up the laundry basket or unload groceries from the car. Little things. If you are in a LOT of pain you may need someone around at least the first night to help you get in and out of bed, etc.

    Home :)

I was sleeved on Friday, December 21, 2012. We left Mexico this morning at 8 AM and I walked in the door to my house at 8 PM. Dr. Alvarez is worth every single penny. We had a wonderful experience, he's very warm and comforting and he takes very good care of his patients. I'm not in very much pain at all and I feel pretty good. Going to head to bed so I can rest up for tomorrow.

    1 month from today...

Congrats!!! The month will go really fast. Follow the Pre op diet, ask lots of questions, stalk the post op forum, watch lots of videos. It'll help you feel prepared. Also to keep yourself occupied, make sure your home/ workspace is ready for Pre and post op. order samples so you can try some things and buy them in larger quantities after surgery if you still like them. Don't forget Vitamins too! Opted for liquid vitamins instead of pills or powders. There's a great list of what to take with you when you go to the hospital... In addition to what your surgeon or his nurse might tell you. Memorize that list! Preparedness will help a lot and will keep you busy!

Sleeved In Mexico By Dr. Alvarez Today!

Sleeved yesterday finally! Love Dr A and his awesome dedicated staff. Most weeks they work 7 days a week. We started offnina really sparse room but got moved this afternoon to swankier rooms. Much nicer in these. Surgery was swift, recovery has been painless so far. Today I am off of pain and nausea meds. No throwing up or anything. Slight cough from a dry throat and I am downing some ice chips as we speak. A little discomfort from the gas buttums seems to be helping. In all a great experience! We get discharged early tomorrow. Can't wait to get in my own bed. I would recommend Dr A to anyone in a heartbeat. It's not about the. Money, it's about the experience. He and his staff are really personable and warm. Down to Earth.
