It's a long thin blender on a stick that you can place into Soups and whatever you like. It will purée the liquid which is really helpful for the liquid diet stage. You can get them at target or any cooking store. They also make super frothy Protein shakes!

Just remember why you are having the surgery. We need a tool that can help us adhere to a diet and the sleeve does that. Otherwise why would I or anyone else get it? If we could just do a pre op diet why would we have surgery? Let's get this sleeve party started!! See you on the losers bench!!

If I'm not mistaken' date=' I believe lortab has 7% alcohol. However, the 500mg acetaminophen is super harsh on your liver as it is. Combining that with the 7% alcohol content is really putting a lot of pressure on your liver. Given that a lot of people are drink lortab multiple times a day, you don't want to add anything extra that would stress your liver out even more[/quote']I'm not saying to add it!! Wow. My point was that probably everyone post op has already consumed alcohol. That's it. Why on gods green earth would you drink with narcotics? What is wrong with you people?

I don't want to sound like an ass- but I'm going to. Or everyone who is so concerned with consuming alcohol so soon after surgery I want you to take a good hard look and the label on your liquid Lortab. It's 14 proof. Not going to say that anyone should go out drinking but please spare me the dramatics of pouring alcohol on an open wound.

I did feel an immense sadness in the weeks immediately following surgery. My mind felt on fire with thoughts of wanting to eat. I also ate mostly for comfort and it took me many weeks to adjust psychologically to the fact that it is not physically possible to fill my emotional needs with food now. I did try several times to over eat with the same result' date=' vomiting!!! I can't tell you for sure when the head hunger eased for me but I am 9 months out today and I have a totally different relationship with food. I would totally do this again. The weight loss is awesome but for me the ability to have food be in its proper place in relation to everything else the world has to offer is priceless.[/quote']Thank u so much for this. I am in my first week post op and u feel like head hunger is plaguing me. But, I am also home alone and bored with just television and nothing else to distract me. I'm glad to see that there is light at the end o the tunnel.

I ate everything and then started my pre op diet and was feeling really tired and run down. At my pre op my doctors appt he said I could eat more food just to keep it low carb.
I felt when I posted about it here I got a lot of crappy answers like how if I hinge the sleeve would fail or I wouldn't be able to have the control for the post op diet. I find it funny that anyone who requires wls can even say anything like this. Trust me that none of us got here because we were in control of our food.
Anyway don't feel bad. The surgery is a great tool to help with staying on track. The weight will come off. Just do the best u can on the diet and don't beat urself up about it.

I hope u r feeling okay so soon after surgery. As for eating I really like cold stuff like Popsicles. Here in Texas we have a lot of sugar free Popsicles which are great. Also Water with mio is my favorite now!! Anyway such a tangent. So excited to be on the losers bench!!

Got sleeves the same day as you! Maybe it's our lucky day but my experience was smooth as well. I can't wait to see us in a few months. Do you have any creative ideas about clears? Jello can get pretty boring.

You look like a totally different person!! How wonderful for your kids to have a new, active mom. Good job!!

I get sleeved on 12-17-12. Does anybody know what it feels like right after? I keep hearing it hurts to drink Water. Just wanna know what that is going to be like??I had my sleeve done two days ago and I feel really good. Actually much better than I thought I would. When I woke up my mouth was dry and the pain meds from surgery were still working. The only problem was rolling onto my side to get out of bed. Now I can get up no problem.
You will be able to figure out the swallowing yourself just by feel. You know the feeling when before surgery you take a huge bite and it hurts going down? That's what a normal size sip feels like after. For me at least.

I just had my surgery so I know how u feel. Let us know how u re doing!!! I'll be praying for u today.
-
You look great!! Good work
-
All of that sounds so good!! I can't wait until I am back to solids.

So I am in the hospital and two days out from surgery. I get some sleep here and there and feel pretty dang good. But this morning I had a dream that I was eating! I was woken by the lady coming in to take my blood and I know that normally I would have been ravenous after havinga dream like this but I wasn't.
Anyway just wondering if anyone had been having food or eating dreams after surgery?

Baby,
Nerves are so normal. That just goes to show that you are aware of the reality of situation and that u care about urself. But at least for me, staying fat has been partly out of fear. I don't even know what I am scared of half the time but I was so tired of it holding me back that I just had to grab onto everyone around me and let their strength pull me through.
U will be ok. Trust that there is something watching over u and try to find a quiet safe place where u can calm ur soul.

Maybe I am just lucky but I have been able
To get up and around without help and not having much pain. I am really looking forward to getting through the next few days. I was also really relieved that I could take my pills because I was nervous about swallowing anything after.
Thanks everyone for being so helpful and nice and thanks for welcoming me to the losers bench- lets get this started!!!

So I had my final pre op appt today and told my surgeon that I was really tired which I think is from the restrictive diet. He said that I could add one meal a day- low carb- until the day before surgery and then have one liquids the day prior to the procedure.
So on the way home I just decided to eat and I went to a drive thru. Game over! I was so hungry I ate like two meals right then.
I know I will get back on track but I feel really bad. Can anyone relate?
