Depression is very common after WLS. Just because your day looks good doesn't mean that you will feel good. When I don't have the extra food I don't know what kinds I feelings will rise up. Who knows how you ate supposed to feel. All I an do today is accept where I am at and pray for guidance. I hope you know that you have people who care.

Mine is the 10th too! I haven't told work yet but I have everything else set up. I'm really excited and I wish it would get here and I would be healed up sooner!! My birthday is on the 27th so I joke that my bday cake will be a protein drink this year lol.

I am cash pay and so it's not for approval. I have a parent who is mentally ill who I have cut off contact with. I am still sent threats etc and disturbing things by her so it's probably just in my best interest to be seeing someone on a regular basis while I have surgery. food is the way I coped with the abuse for my whole life. The therapist even asked if I had PTSD. I will need all the support I can get while I get through this.

Did anyone have to get a letter stating that they were set up with a therapist prior to surgery? I have a history of anxiety and was abused as a child which is part of the reason I ate. When I went for evaluation I was told that I needed to get set up with a therapist to have surgery.

Since making the mental decision to have the surgery and starting all the testing I have just stopped all of the ridiculous dieting that I usually do until I start my pre op diet.

I'm not on pre op diet yet but I Am eating like I will never eat again! It's partly anxiety and partly just that old Sunday night before the diet thinking.

I will have my actual sx date on nov 8 when I go see my scheduler! So excited. This will be the best Christmas and bday gift ever. My birthday is the 27th. I will have purée for my 33rd lol

I have a bulldog who always stays next to me and is a huge jumper. She will be staying at doggy camp for a few days so that I can have a break from her and I don't have to worry about walking her and feeding etc. also in case of any problems she will be in good hands.

You are a brave woman and a great example! Any health professional and I mean professional would just be happy that you took a step to loose weight and take care of your health! That woman is obviously not aware of the fact that if you could have just worked out and lost weight you would have. Be proud and know that she is probnly exaggerating her own accomplishments with her clients.

Once I will be having surgery mid december and be starting my pre op diet just after thanksgiving I can't stop thinking about all the changes that are going to happen. Did anyone else have food troubwl during this time? I am eating so badly! I feel like my fat is getting ready to walk the green mile.

Hey everyone. I wanted to post here because I feel like you all have a lot of experience and are very supportive. I have my NUT and psych appts as well as my pre op visit on Nov 8 and have financial arrangements all made for the facts that I am self pay. So far so good. But that fat person voice in my head keeps saying that this surgery won't work or that I will feel terrible afterwards. I even have moments where I start to think I can just diet! What a huge joke. I have never been able to do that in my life. The voice of denial is loud and clear. Anyone else have experience with this?
