  1. Another quick and dirty recipe for Alfredo is to put a chunk of butter some full cream until sauced to your liking, an and then a ton of grated parm and stir.. High calories but low carb.. Was one of my go tos when on Atkins (less processed food too) You can top it off with my favorite Atkins dessert.. Get a package of sugar free pudding mix, add half the liquid as full cream and half the liquid as Water, mix until it mousses... A couple spoons is all it takes and you've got your sweet tooth taken care of.
  2. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! Gah that was so annoying. I didn't make it back to the room until dark. I got to leave normal time the next day though.
  3. SAHM here too, though all my kids are in school now.. usually just hubby working from home to keep me entertained. I am 2 1/2 months out. Grazing - Honestly, it's weird, and you'll hear it over and over again.. the urge just isn't there. I still love my morning naps, but my morning second breakfasts, lunch, snack before kids, snack after kids, etc just don't taunt/call to me like before. I keep individually wrapped packages of cheese (string, cheddar, colby, whatever) in the fridge and when I really feel like I need a snack, I go grab one of those. (90 cal, 5 Protein, 1 carb, I don't count calories or fat as much as protein/carb) I can go grocery shopping and not feel like I need to pick up a king size bar of chocolate or two (or larger.. eek!) Stick with your Proteins and liquids and you won't feel hungry
  4. The sam's club box has fewer than the Costco one. Locally, cost wise, the Costco one is a few cents cheaper per bottle than the sam's club one, but the sam's club one has the resealable lid. Plus for me, the sam's club is much further than the Costco.
  5. Be careful of the Atkins chocolates, you only should have one a day.. Any more than that and you will find yourself stuck sitting in the bathroom
  6. Mine was given to me on my second post op appointment. (1 month appointment)
  7. Checking in... This morning I made it to 227, bringing the grand total to 50 lbs lost. Surgery date was 11/21. Best decision I was ever talked into
  8. Yeah, in fact right next to lean cuisine They are basically a regular TV dinner but without the rice or noodle filler. My favorite is the Alfredo followed by crust less chicken pot pie. The rest taste better on second eating, but not really enough for me to buy again. I haven't tried the meatloaf because I hate mushrooms and none of the Breakfast ones because I hate eggs and we have chickens so if I wanted eggs I have free ones They are about 3.50 each .. Which makes them pricey IMO but you are paying a premium for no cheap carbs. I can usually eat 1/2-3/4 of one.
  9. I got one, but haven't used it yet. I generally just share with one of my kids or order regular and bring the leftovers home. Between the kids and the pigs, someone will eat it I used to try to just order the smallest tolerable item on the menu, until we went to ihop and I wanted some pancakes and an omelette ... I cheaped out and just got plain eggs and pancakes and saved 2 bucks, but was so disappointed with boring eggs (i dislike eggs to begin with, but they are tolerable with cheese an meat in them) I vowed not to sacrifice my food enjoyment for price or sleeve. (Well, within reason, omelette or plain eggs would still be Atkins friendly.. The pancakes I just ate a couple bites of either way) Anyway, point behind this was I have a card, but I won't sacrifice my food just to get fried nuggets from the kid's menu or gross food just to save a buck.
  10. Thanks Love those new Atkins TV Dinners!
  11. Some Protein shots contain bad protein your body can't absorb (collagen). You're just throwing money away. I believe "New Whey" shots available at Walmart and other places was the main culprit. "New Whey" being the name of the shot, not necessarily the ingredients. The bariatric shots posted earlier in this thread also contain collagen as their first ingredient.
  12. I use Lose it! because it lets you scan the barcode of products and then enter how many servings or amount you ate. It also lets you input recipes and select your serving size and calculates the nutrients as well. It also has some of the "usual" features you find in the other apps. It IS weak on the search feature, but why search when you can just scan the stupid barcode? https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lose-it!/id297368629?mt=8 I also use Moves - it tracks how many steps you do a day (like fitbit, or jawbone up) but without the extra do-dad. It is imperfect but it's free and it gives you an idea of what you're doing each day. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/moves/id509204969?mt=8
  13. Add me to the people finally broke down and had some coke zero but decided the painful bubbles weren't worth it.
  14. Moves is a free iPhone app that automatically tracks your steps every day, whether you are walking, running or biking. You just have it running in the background and it updates throughout the day. It does a lot of the things the big boys do without having to carry around an extra piece of equipment. I've noticed some extra drain on the battery, but honestly not enough to be worried about. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/moves/id509204969?mt=8
  15. Fiber gummies... Two a day until you start moving then lower it until you get the consistency you desire.
  16. I think there are some cases when emotional eaters freak out when they can no longer emotionally eat. If the only thing that keeps you sane is a half gallon of ice cream and you no longer have the ability to eat the half gallon, what will you do?
  17. I am so sorry to hear what happened to you Praying for a swift recovery.
  18. You might not be that slow. Person A weighs 300 lbs and loses 30 lbs. That's 10% of their total body weight. Person B weighs 225 lbs and loses 22.5 lbs. That's still 10% of their total body weight but comparatively they look like a slow loser because they lost 8 lbs less. That doesn't take into account metabolism, water weight and the multitude of other things that are basically out of your control. Just know that as long as you are eating smartly neither you nor the sleeve can fail each other.
  19. I haven't found anything I can't tolerate at 2 months.
  20. Sounds like it won't do much for the excess skin, which is mostly your problem. I doubt there are a lot of fat deposits still
  21. Dr Rodriguez from Barker Bariatrics in Dallas. Surgery was at Forest Park on Central Exp Who was yours?
  22. Hey I am in Royse city too! Small world
  23. I have lost a bit on it but usually gain it immediately back when you switch to real food. Pre surgery I asked my doctor if I could use medifast instead of the Protein shakes and she said no. I can't remember what the reasoning was though. I can't really recommend it or Optifast... Both of them are kind of crap. You are better off just drinking a Protein Drink and eating some eggs
