Calling All Dfw And Surrounding Area Sleevers!
Hi Stacey I have a surgery date of Nov. 2nd and am also using Dr. Cribbins. He was highly recommended to me by my gynecologist of 20 years who is also from Plano Presbyterian. I have read nothing but good reviews about him. Have you been pleased with him so far?

Shirataki Noodles
Sorry I didn't realize you were talking about that brand. Yes there are several others. I went to a Asian market and bought a couple of different brands of 100% shiritaki noodles and they were clear and sort of 'slimy' it was kind of like eating gummy worms that were soaked in oil! I then discovered the House Brand and of the probably 7-8 brands I tried I liked those the best. I just rinsed them in a colander and then dropped them in boiling water a minute or so and then they were ready. I ate them with the flavor packets from Kraft macaroni and cheese (they have elbow shaped shirikati noodles), Suddenly Salad, and others.

Shirataki Noodles
I personally liked the ones from Whole Foods that have a little TOFU in them...the others are a little slimy for my taste..This is what they look like. You can also get them other places. http://www.house-foods.com/tofu/tofu_shirataki.aspx

Your pre op diet sounds a lot like mine except I can't have any meat. Which actually hasn't been to bad at all. My surgery is scheduled for Nov. 2nd.

Protein Shakes After Surgery...low Or High Calorie?
Thank you. I kind of figured I would probably need to adjust it as I went along. When you say you drink straight protein are you referring to the http://www.newwhey.com/ type drinks? That's one of the one's I recently purchased for after surgery. My surgery is Nov. 2nd.

Protein Shakes After Surgery...low Or High Calorie?
I'm a little confused about the protein powder/shakes for after surgery. I see one of the more common ones is Unjury, which is very low in calories. Since from my understanding I will be only able to (or only want to because of lack of appetite) consume a teaspoon or two at a time and am only getting a few teaspoons a day (? correct)...shouldn't I need something that contains higher calories to keep me from becoming weak/fatigued until I'm able to eat actual food?

November Sleevesters?
Maybe this will make you feel a little better. I think that the fact they didn't find anything is good news, but I understand your concern. Ask your doctor if it's possible the endoscopy could have missed anything like scar tissue etc..after reading this article though I think you're going to get good news http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/upper-gastrointestinal-endoscopy

Did they do a Upper GI or Endoscopy on you? I would think either of those tests would give them a good idea if there were any issues

2 Week Pre-Op Diet - I Call Bullsh**t
I use Dr. Cribbins in Plano,Tx. as far as pre-op I can't have any meat, but at least I'm not starving. I can have oatmeal..healthy choice soups, jello, applesauce, low fat cottage cheese, fruit, salad with low fat dressing, protein shakes and that sort of thing. When I went for my pre-op tests today I mentioned that my friend (she used different dr.) had to drink only protein shakes for 2-3 weeks pre-op and the nurse said Dr. Cribbins didn't want to starve his patients pre-op he just wanted to get them use to eating less and introduce them to the shakes, because after surgery I wouldn't get to eat regular food for awhile. i've been so happy with him so far and nothing but good comments about him that I can find.
