  1. I found out last week that I am pregnant. I am 1 week shy of my 1 year post op. I had blood work done and I am about 6 weeks pregnant. I was diagnosed with PCOS many years ago and the husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 4 years, so this is super exciting for us. My gynecologist says that I am at a healthy weight. Since finding out last week, I have found that the last couple of days, I haven't had much of an appetite. I already don't eat much, so this has me concerned. I feel like I am having to force myself to eat and when I do eat, I get full super fast. I have talked with my gynecologist and surgeon and neither seemed concerned. Has anyone else experienced this before? How many calories did you consume during your pregnancy?

    CURED!

I went to for my yearly check up with my gynecologist and she said that since I have had regular periods since October, that I am cured of my PCOS. My husband and I tried for a baby for 3 years before I decided to have the sleeve done. This surgery has been such a life changer for me!! Now just to go back to my surgeon in July for my one year check up in hopes that he'll release me to have a baby!!!

    July sleevers please check in..

So, I haven't really posted in here much, but I figured I should give an update. I was sleeved on July 16, 2013. My highest weight was 267, surgery weight 153 and current weight is 175. I am 5'8". My goal is 150, but I am starting to wonder if I will get there. Since surgery I have become a runner....and I LOVE IT!! I am about 2 weeks away from being able to run my first 5K! I never dreamed I would ever look or feel this way. Life is great!!! I have also started a blog to keep track of my progress. Feel free to follow my page. www.thenewjenn.com

    July sleevers please check in..

I thought I was the only one losing slowly until I read this. Whew! Glad to know I am not alone. Height- 5'8" HW- 267 SW- 253 CW- 217 YAY!!! I am so glad I went through with this surgery!
  5. I am 8 weeks out and I keep experiencing stalls. I had my first stall at 3 weeks. It seems like every since then, I will stall for about a week and a half and then I'll lose about 4 or 5 pounds really fast and then I will stall again for about a week and a half. Is anyone else experiencing this. I have lost 27 pounds since surgery on July 16th and have lost 41 pounds since I start the whole journey. I am content with the loss, but didn't know if this was normal or not. Would love to hear if anyone else is experiencing this. Also, any tips to make the stalls not last quite as long?

    FINALLY!

    Congratulations! So exciting!
  7. I have done my 6 months of "Weight checks" and have jumped through all the hoops that Aetna wanted me to do. My request for approval was submitted on June 12th. I was told it could take up to 6 weeks to hear back. I am a teacher and am wanting to have the surgery ASAP, so I have plenty of time to recover and get everything figured out. I am starting to get annoyed, because I am going on 3 weeks and I called insurance to check and they said that it is in clinical review and won't really tell me anything else. Anyone else with Aetna have this issue?

    July sleevers please check in..

I was sleeved on the 16th. I am down 20 pounds since surgery and 34 pounds since I started this journey. I lost 12 pounds my first week, 5 pounds the next week, then I stalled for a week. I have lost 3 pounds this week. Tomorrow is 5 weeks out for me. I feel great! Thanks for posting everyone...looks like I am not as far behind as I thought. It is coming off much slower than I was expecting.

    July 2013 Sleevers

I was sleeved on July 16th. The first week I was dropping about 2 pounds a day!! I was super excited, but since then, I haven't really lost anything. I have been stuck at 15 pounds weight loss for a few days now. I went out of town this weekend and was super excited to get home and weigh, but I had actually gained a pound! WHAT!??!! I haven't been working out up until this point, but I am definitely hitting the gym this afternoon. I am ready for things to pick up again!

    Post Op Full Liquid Diet?

You might want to check with your surgeon, but mine said it was ok for me to have Oatmeal during my post op full liquid diet. He just said that I have to make sure it is really creamy, not thick. I add protein to my oatmeal as well. I can also have pudding, yogurt, and creamy soups.
  14. I was also sleeved on the 16th and have had the same feeling. I feel very hungry, but having a hard time getting all my protein in. Seems like if I was that hungry...I could get it all down. I have been taking Nexium since the day after surgery.
  15. I had the hiccups for 10 minutes the evening after my surgery...I thought I was going to die! My surgeon gave me a troubleshooting chart for different symptoms. It says that if you get hiccups, then you are either eating too fast or too much. Maybe try taking smaller sips or drink slower. I don't know...I feel you on the hiccups though. I feel like I have sneezed more the past week (I was sleeved on the 16th) than I have in my entire life!! That stuff hurts!!!
  16. I was sleeved on July 16th, came home on the 17th, and was at the mall on the 20th. As long as you aren't on any pain medications, you should be fine. My husband took vacation, so I didn't drive for the first time until today.

    When can i eat?

Yes, my doctor prescribed me Nexium and I have taken it every day since surgery.

    When can i eat?

I understand how you feel completely! I was sleeved on July 16th and I was under the assumption that I wouldn't be hungry after surgery at all, but my stomach seems to ALWAYS be growling. My mother-in-law had the surgery done a few years back (bypass though) so I have been leaning on her for advice. She said that the hunger feeling is really from my brain. My body hasn't realized yet that the majority of my stomach is gone. So, where my brain is on a routine of eating at particular times, in reality...my stomach is really not wanting it. I have to be on 2 weeks of full liquid diet then I can start puree! I have never been so excited to eat pureed food in all my life! I am a scaredy cat though, so I follow my surgeon's orders to a T!
