  1. Hi everyone, I am so excited!!! I am finally getting my sleeve on March 11th with Dr. Ortiz at the OCC... I wanted to know if any one else was going to be there between March 10th and the 14th? It would be great to hook up with some fellow sleevers. Let me know! Yay! Im getting ready to begin a whole new life! A new me is about to be made Amber
  2. Hi guys! Im being sleeved on the 11th also. OCC in Mexico. Anyone else going to be there? Id love to have a surg buddy when I get there!
  3. Mark, congrats on the life changing choice... I am counting down the days till my surgery and am so happy for you that everything is goind so smooth... good luck and keep it up!
  4. Yay for you!!! I'm so happy or you! I know myself how wonderful it feels to just be on my way to getting to my goal. Congratulations we are all here for you cheering you on...
  5. I have a nose piercing and my doc said I had to take it out or I was not getting surgery... I am going to try to get a plastic one the week before. Its only been a couple months and I really don't want it to close up. Plus, I want to go in and have my piercer do it for me, I am such a pansy when it comes to pain. lol...
  6. Your looking amazing! Wow.. you go girl..
  7. I just started a low carb pre op diet today. I need to be down 14 lb before surgery on March 10th. Its crazy how much carbs are in things I didn't think about. I really got to start charting the food I eat, before I eat it, NOT after. lol... I had a salad with an apple and green peas on it and omb.. there go the carbs! lol then I put a banana in a shake, and what do you know! more carbs! crap! I need to get a hold on this... lol... Major shopping is needed for me to get this down.
  8. I could not stop laughing. Why is it that the valid serious questions can be the funniest? I would have never even thought about it but now that you say it, despite it being funny, it is a fact. What do they do to keep our boobs out of the way? Because i am sorry but us big girls got some "big girls" lol... Maybe I will ask my doc when I go in for surgery next month..lol
  9. I am rite there with you I know how you feel. Even though I have been kissed, I have had very few relationships and my last one was almost 7 years ago. The thing that really sucks is even though I am way over weight my lobito leaves nothing to be desired and when I have the self confidence of a bug it dose nothing to help solve that problem or catch a guy, if you know what I mean...lol As girls we dream up these ideas of what our life is going to be like when we grow up. In my dream, I was married around 25 with a couple kids by the time I was 30. Well, now I have turned 30 and don't even have a date for the ball... I am really looking forward to getting my surgery and changing my life and how I feel about myself. Oh and even though I have been kissed, The rest of my list is the same. Never been out on a date (go figure huh? a boyfriend but no real date! yes he was a looser, I know that now...lol) No waxing (but I am not supper bummed on that one yet) No bikini... (but I will ) Good luck with everything, Keep that hope alive, We will loose this weight We are beautiful WE ARE WORTH IT!!!!
  10. I got my date!!! Oh ya, Im doing a little dance rite now... March 10th!!! Healthy life- Here I come!
  11. Thanks so much to everyone who has put in their advice and recomendations. I love hearing all the stories of satisfaction. I have chosen to go with dr ortiz at the occ.. I'm really excited and will keep you all posted as things go through
  12. Great job! Keep up the good work! I'm really excited to get the ball rolling too
  13. Susie I know you said you were worried about getting through your long days at work without the boost. Have you ever tried liquid vitamines? I have a bottle of "source of life, red" liquid vitamines and a small bottle of liquid B12.I When I take those in the morning I feel like I'm on an energy high that feels so good. No speedy heart, just good solid wide awake. Give it a try, it might be a help in quiting soda if you are looking for that result. Also, its a good way to move into a liquid vitamine before surgery. I know allot of people go with chewables but I fell in love with my liquid ones. I get mine at super supliments or you can go online... good luck sweety. I'm sure you will make it all work out.
  14. I love it! What a great idea. When I made my desicion to be healthy I went on pinterest.com and printed a bunch of quotes and pictures that made me feel good. I put them up in my room where only I could see them and it made me feel good. Don't give up and cheesy is just fine. We all need something to smile at. I hope to have my sleeve done next month, so I am in inspiration mode rite now. good luck with everything. And remember... you deserve it
  15. I have been waiting for this for sooooo long! I have finally made it possible financially to schedule my surgery! I don't know if I want to cry or shout. I don't have a date scheduled yet, but I have my doctor picked out, and I am working on getting my passport so I can go down to OCC! This is a very long time coming and I am so happy. It is like a load has been lifted off my shoulders and I haven't even lost any weight yet. lol... Its this dream that has always been off in the far future is now tangible and close enough to be real. I know I have a long road ahead of me, and not all of it will be easy. But my life is going to change, I am going to be happy and free to live like I have always wanted. This is going to be a great summer and an amazing year! I can't wait to share it with all of you. I give praise because HE has made a way where there was no way...
  16. My sisters first reaction when I told her I wanted to go to Mexico for surgery was "they steal peoples organs and sell them on the black market", "they send you home without putting you back together all the way", "we will get killed by drug traffickers" I have been showing her all of my research on the OCC and other places and she has been able to read some of your testimonies about your experiences and is feeling much better about the trip. It really is education. We are afraid of the things we don't understand or know about. She still has a few concerns but is very supportive about me changing my life and becoming the person I want to be. I am very lucky, everyone in my family is very supportive. Thanks to my family for helping me every step of the way... and thanks to my on line family here who have always been willing to answer my questions and calm my fears about this journey. You have all been super wonderful, and I don't know what I would have done with out all of you for support.
  17. I have just recently seen people talking about the "drain"... It looked rather unsettling to me. How was it for you? Did it hurt to have it out? Wow, I am such a scaredie cat..lol..
  18. You need to do what makes you feel safe. If you don't feel good about telling people.... don't But, have at least ONE support person. You need one person you can tell your fears and joys to. One person who will be there to help you through. Even if you pick someone you can just call and talk things through with. It will make all the difference.
