I have been waiting for this for sooooo long! I have finally made it possible financially to schedule my surgery! I don't know if I want to cry or shout. I don't have a date scheduled yet, but I have my doctor picked out, and I am working on getting my passport so I can go down to OCC! This is a very long time coming and I am so happy. It is like a load has been lifted off my shoulders and I haven't even lost any weight yet. lol... Its this dream that has always been off in the far future is now tangible and close enough to be real. I know I have a long road ahead of me, and not all of it will be easy. But my life is going to change, I am going to be happy and free to live like I have always wanted. This is going to be a great summer and an amazing year! I can't wait to share it with all of you. I give praise because HE has made a way where there was no way...

I got my date!!! Oh ya, Im doing a little dance rite now... March 10th!!! Healthy life- Here I come!

Susie I know you said you were worried about getting through your long days at work without the boost. Have you ever tried liquid vitamines? I have a bottle of "source of life, red" liquid vitamines and a small bottle of liquid B12.I When I take those in the morning I feel like I'm on an energy high that feels so good. No speedy heart, just good solid wide awake. Give it a try, it might be a help in quiting soda if you are looking for that result. Also, its a good way to move into a liquid vitamine before surgery. I know allot of people go with chewables but I fell in love with my liquid ones. I get mine at super supliments or you can go online... good luck sweety. I'm sure you will make it all work out.

I love it! What a great idea. When I made my desicion to be healthy I went on pinterest.com and printed a bunch of quotes and pictures that made me feel good. I put them up in my room where only I could see them and it made me feel good. Don't give up and cheesy is just fine. We all need something to smile at. I hope to have my sleeve done next month, so I am in inspiration mode rite now. good luck with everything. And remember... you deserve it

My sisters first reaction when I told her I wanted to go to Mexico for surgery was "they steal peoples organs and sell them on the black market", "they send you home without putting you back together all the way", "we will get killed by drug traffickers" I have been showing her all of my research on the OCC and other places and she has been able to read some of your testimonies about your experiences and is feeling much better about the trip. It really is education. We are afraid of the things we don't understand or know about. She still has a few concerns but is very supportive about me changing my life and becoming the person I want to be. I am very lucky, everyone in my family is very supportive. Thanks to my family for helping me every step of the way... and thanks to my on line family here who have always been willing to answer my questions and calm my fears about this journey. You have all been super wonderful, and I don't know what I would have done with out all of you for support.

I have just recently seen people talking about the "drain"... It looked rather unsettling to me. How was it for you? Did it hurt to have it out? Wow, I am such a scaredie cat..lol..

You need to do what makes you feel safe. If you don't feel good about telling people.... don't But, have at least ONE support person. You need one person you can tell your fears and joys to. One person who will be there to help you through. Even if you pick someone you can just call and talk things through with. It will make all the difference.

I really appreciate all the information you are giving. 3 Months ago I had an amazing doc picked out here in Seattle and I really wish I could stay with him, but there is no way I can get that kind of money. Mexico is my only choice left. I have heard allot of people saying really good things about it. It is just my own worries about quality and after care that keep popping up. It seems that many of you have had a very good experience though. Also, another up side to this is I fortunately don't have any other pre existing conditions that might complicate the procedure. Thanks again for all your advice. Keep it coming if anyone has anything to add. I am all ears And really appreciate it!

I forgot to update after my gi... everything was fine. I don't remember a thing and felt fine when I woke up... very easy... no worries

Hi everyone.. I have been working hard to get my credit up before looking for a loan. So I got it up to a 670 but now my medical financing is only giving me 10,500 and I need 16,500. Does anyone have any ideas on how to work out the rest without maxing out all my credit cards? And without begging someone to co-sign for me? I don't think I could aford to have multiple payments and intrest from a bunch of different cards... has anyone come into this problem? I am clear for surgery other than $$...

I got approved for about 6,ooo less than what I asked for, I'm not sure what I'm going to do to get the rest...

I have dr landerholm in washingto state my surgery and 2 yrs after care is 16,500... I will be pulling it together somehow as I am also a self pay..

I just found this site yesterday and am so glad to have found so many wonderful people to get so much suport... I am glad to hear your storie. I go in for my endoscopy on fri and I have been really nervous. I am glad to hear most all of you had an easy time... this should be my last pre op test.. I hope to have a date scheduled by next week! Thanks girls...

Just to introduce myself... My name is Amber. I am pre op at 287lb. I am about to finish up my last pre op tests this week and am trying to get my financing figures out since my insurance won't cover my sleeve. With Gods help I should have a surgery date by next week! I am so excited to have this change in my life! If anyone has any creative ideas on how to get my financing it would be great! My current loan will only cover about 70% of my bill... hope your all having a great Monday!
