  1. Yay, something to look forward to. My favorite jeans from Torrid in plus sizes have itty bitty pockets too. Maybe because they think it makes you look slimmer.
  2. Are they over weight too? I think spouses who object usually are scared that you will leave them when you reach goal. Friends are usually threatened by your possible success. I would talk to him about the actual numbers such as what your risk is from dying early due to obesity vs what the surgery risks are. If he is truly worried about your safety then he will at least listen to that. If he doesnt want to hear it, I would think there are deeper reasons like insecurity going on.
  3. How ridiculous! The hoops they make us jump through are crazy. Do you have pressure incontinence? I would add that if you do. Good luck to you. I think that doctors should be able to determine whether we are a good candidate, not some clerk at an insurance company.
  4. I have to confess I use straws. I just can't physically sit at work with an open cup because I'm at a computer. And I hate sucking on those sports bottles like a toddler. I don't feel like I'm gassy or I'm swallowing air at all.
  5. This is going to sound really odd but I like sleeping in on the weekends. Twice now I have slept so long that I end up feeling really dehydrated. When I'm at work I have to have so.ethung to sip on all day. But at home I just have been forgetting. I guess I miss being able to skip drinking water without feeling like crap. But I will adjust. Its good for me anyway. Funny how it's not missing food, it's missing being able to stay hydrated without constantly drinking water!
  6. I know that right after surgery our hormones are off and we have estrogen coming out of our fat cells. How long until things are supposed to normalize? Is it like that until you reach goal? Sometimes I feel really great and sometimes I feel like I can tell my hormones are just off.
  7. Personally the thought of eating baby food made me sick. The thought of pureed meat did too. I was pretty limited during the pureed phase.
  8. I would like to plan a trip to Mexico with my husband and go scuba diving. I've always wanted to do that! Other than that I want to take a trapeze class. I was thinking ziplining but the ones around here just look kind of boring.
  9. I got really irritated pre surgery by being asked hundreds of times my name, DOB and what surgery I was having. The day of surgery in prep I think four different people might have asked me eight times. I think it's due to errors like this! Also my hospital had to scan my wrist band every single time they did anything and then asked me my name and DOB again. Thank god they caught it way before your surgery. Do you have a common name? Sometimes that is what causes the mistakes. I'm sorry that happened to you. How scary.
  10. That's amazing! You look wonderful!
  11. I love MFP! I am addicted to it.
  12. I don't know what to get since I'm losing fifteen pounds a month. I was thinking boy shorts with a tank top type. Something that won't fall off if it's loose. I don't wa t to buy a new suit every month or have the girls falling out by August!
  13. My daughter was my inspiration too! I've literally had dreams about playing with her at a water park. It was awesome. Good for you!
  14. That link goes to an individual's page. Do I message you about joining the group?
  15. She seems very insecure and selfish. She can go on about how healthy she is but you can't magically take away the stress on your joints. She might be young and it doesn't bother her yet but some day it will. It sounds like she is still recovering from her eating disorder and isn't stable enough to be a good friend. I'm sorry but maybe you are better off without her in your life.
  16. Ann Taylor.... I can't wait! Good for you!
  17. If that's the guy from the TV show then he wants to see if you are so addicted to food that the surgery wouldn't help. I would guess if you do a liquid diet for a week with high Protein you could probably lose at least five if not more. Some people he asks to lose weight just can't or don't. And one woman was being so enabled by her family he had her in the hospital for a month to see if she could lose away from them. Good luck to you. I hope he helps.
  18. It might be the speed that it's coming off. It might be they wonder if you had WLS and they are trying to get you to say it. I'm sorry they are bothering you so much.
  19. Those are fantastic losses!!!! I lost 15 pre op and I've lost 45 post op. I feel great, I am so grateful for every pound I lose!
  20. I'm now down 60 pounds from consult in February. I can fit into my little black dress again! I still have a ways to go to goal. But I'm feeling good! The sundresses I took on my honeymoon in 2011 fit me again! Now I just need to find a place to go that calls for a little black dress!
