  1. Kelly I'm on my phone so I can't see if you have stats posted but what was your weight going into surgery? Five pounds in one week is great! Where are you in your menstrual cycle and are you having BMs? Those things factor in.
  2. Anyone want to meet up in person? I posted on the other thread, we could go to like bread co and all order soup. And then only drink the broth.
  3. Hi! I had mine done by Dr Morales two weeks ago. He really is wonderful. And can I say easy on the eyes too. Ha. But seriously their whole team is wonderful and caring. I had a great experience. Does anyone want to meet up in person? Like we could go to a restaurant and all order soup and only eat the broth? I am needing in person support, I feel like an alien!
  4. Pancake that seems like a lot of calories! Can you talk to your nutritionist? You shouldn't be hungry all day, something seems to be off.
  5. How do you get insurance to pay for it? Did you have rashes?
  6. Because it's gray there all the time?
  7. Ha! Darwin! I know, I don't know why people don't call their surgeons. I think some people ask the same questions because they are just nervous and want to talk individually with others who have been through it instead of reading an old post.
  8. Can I start a thread about how much I miss sex?
  9. Did your insurance pay for the panni? Do you have FMLA or short term disability while you are off? What is a dog ear?
  10. How about a trial by fire?
  11. But but but it's my journey! I'm on a journey just like chicks on the Bachelor! I'm going somewhere, I'm on a train, this is my trip! At the end of this when I reach my goal I'm totally throwing a ring into a volcano.
  12. I went to the surgeon and my BP and my heart rate are finally normal. Also my surgeon is very handsome. Glad I didn't notice this earlier but don't know how I did. He saw me naked. Lol.
  13. I lost another pound! I put on a T short I bought when I was about 8 pounds lighter than this. It looks great! I stopped wearing it because of my fat rolls. My stomach looks so much better.
  14. I hardly lost any weight the last two days. But all today I keep feeling areas of my body that feel much thinner. Maybe I'm just now catching up but I swear I feel like I lost five pounds in two days.
  15. Weight Watchers is very anti-surgery. I used them for a while and failed. When I was trying to hey approved for surgery, they did everything they possible could to keep me from getting the documentation I needed. They are greedy corporate scum. Jmo.
  16. I've been avoiding the kitchen when my husband makes dinner. Tonight my daughter was having a my down right before dinner so I got to see the amazing ham, cheese bread and Pasta. It smelled so good. I seriously thought about getting a meat grinder so I could have some ham. I miss meat. I don't like being a vegetarian at all. I seriously almost cried and went in my room. I just want to share a nice dinner with my family again. Yesterday I took my daughter to McDonalds. It smelled disgusting. The only thing I could have was milk and Water. So I got water. I watched her eat her Happy Meal and I didn't even want a bite. I'm thankful that she is so thin and has such good eating habits so I don't feel bad about her having a burger and fries here and there.
  17. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. I think that there is such a wide range of post op experiences and people's surgeons should be educating them about that prior to it. It's sad when they don't. I knew mostly what to expect. What I didn't expect was the back pain. It didn't occur to me that being strapped to a table with my arms strapped straight out on a hard table would hurt my back. But it hurt so bad the first two days. They gave me Lortab and it didn't do anything. The first night I was out of bed kneeling on a chair facing the back rocking back and forth because my back hurt so bad. I finally got them to prescribe something different which worked. I also had high blood pressure and they couldn't figure out why. I could hardly get any Water down because it hurt so bad. I had to stay an extra night because of those two things. But I think my surgeon's program prepared me well for the unexpected. It sucked but I knew I was taking a risk and I knew that there could be problems. And like you the difficulties are just making me want to work that much harder! I too have seen some posts on here that are literally unbelievable about people's first day after surgery. I think we might have a troll or two around here. But some people just are fine with anesthesia. Some people are sick for days because of it.
  18. Get your bariatric Vitamins and start taking them. They help so much. I had to be on liquids for two weeks. I "cheated" a little the first week. Every day I would have about a half cup of diced chicken and some spinach leaves. I don't think I would have made it through without that. The thing is every surgeon is different. Some just want you on Atkins, some want you on just liquids, some let you have veggies. That second week was so hard. I had surgery on Tuesday and I literally spent most of the weekend before in bed. I was depressed, I didn't want to see or smell food, I just wanted to be alone. One thing I did that helped somewhat was adding spices to me broth, mixing up veggie broth, chicken broth, and miso Soup in different combos. I used onion flakes and garlic to give myself different flavors too. Hang in there. Are you allowed to have some coffee on yours? That helped me a lot.
  19. I would say "what are you going to do about your droopy boobs and face?" Lol.
  20. Thank you! I started using my fitness pal, it's really an awesome tool. So easy, and you can see right there how much Protein you have had as you go through your day. I'm feeling so much better today! I actually have energy! I wrote and edited my story for about three hours and now I'm taking a nap.
