    Energy And Moving....

How exciting! I want to be like you when I grow up (LOL). I was just telling my family that we need a maid or a housekeeper or something because I just don't have the energy to keep up with a full house anymore. I am nine days post op and haven't been able to return to my regular routine yet. I experienced a great deal of discomfort after the surgery, resulting in me using the full two weeks recommneded by my doctor. My first post op visit is on Nov 8 and will definitely increase my fluid intake because my tongue has been a little too white. I thought that it was because of my low fliud intake, so thanks for posting that information. early voting - checked Sons' first x - checked high energy - checked clean house- checked 2 wk post op- checked Seems like it is now time to breathe... Congrats and I wish you continued success on your journey.

11 Wks Post Op & Sabotage

To date, you've lost 39.2 lbs. I congratulate you on the excellent numbers depicted in your post. Basically, you've lost almost 40 lbs in two months - WOW! That's awesome! Try to celebrate each day, because we are not promised the next! Your journey is just that...your journey. Your competitiveness is wonderful, but the worst opponent can be oneself. I'm only a nine days post-op and your weight loss to date is super encouraging to me! I hope it continues to encourage you too! WLS is an personal choice. Your friends and family make choices that they do not share with you, and they shouldn't - because those are their choices. You are entitled to the same. Keep doing what is best for you and the rest will soon follow.
  5. While reading your post, I'm looking around my house for cameras. Here is why; your experience mimics my experience in February of this year. It was a few days after having surgery to remove the ineffective lap band. I will not repeat my account of events, because you've captured them so well for me! I am now seven days out of revision surgery (sleeve, of course) and I have yet to experience a release. I am desperately afraid of a recurrence of "our" event that I am almost in panic mode at this very moment. I think I will make an appointment for a colonic as quickly as possible because I do not ever want to experience that level of discomfort again in this life time. I begged my husband to "knock me out" because the pain was almost intolerable! I almost logged in earlier to blog about this very same thing...so thank you! There are many suggestions given and for the most part, when you are experiencing that amount of pain I know from experience that any/all remedies suggested DO NOT offer any relief during that crucial moment.

  8. Thanks and I'll add you as my very first friend when I log in to my pc.
  9. @sharonM723; thank you so much for posting today. You've motivated me to stay focus and not let the hunger monster rule me today . So am I correct in assuming that your surgery date is in November? The reason I ask is because 28 days seems like such a long journey, and I am panicking after only four! Thanks for the well wishes too!
  10. Optifast? Really? I heard that was a great product. Did your doctor recommend it or is it your personal choice? My doctor only uses Bariatric Advantage Protein drinks and bars - and my diet consists of 3 drinks and one bar - THAT'S IT!
  11. I'm a revision so they didn't order a new one for me. I'd forgotten about that procedure.
  12. I'm having a procedure on the 22nd too! i'm not doing that well on this liquid diet. At least once a day I've Been having a very light meal of veggies. This is torture! My dr's office said three shakes and a protein bar is all that I could have, with 96 ozs of water a day. They also said gatorade and sugar free jello and popsicles. I hate sugar free anything so that will not be happening. I found two great gatorade flavors, but I don't like gatorade either. This is tough!!!
  13. I'm updating my profile...interesting.

  14. @shayv123; Well, I've mixed up a batch of the protein drink with lots of ice and a tiny bit of water and made ice cream out of it that tasted okay. You see, I'm not a cookies and cake girl...ice cream is my nemesis  I have a blender that makes ice cream and sorbet. I figured since it's these packets are super sweet, I'd create something that I could enjoy. You may be right! Sweetness overload could be the plan (ha). I'm on day four of my two weeks as well. I'm scheduled for Oct 24, what about you?
  15. I'm sick of the sweetness! I need something savory so I've been spicing up my broths. I too must increase my water intake. Can someone tell me why the pre op meals chosen by the bariactric specialist are super sweet and the diets don't include real foods? Adding healthy veggies that also decrease the liver size would make a world of difference for me. It is strange how they tell people who are struggling with food to not eat anything solid for two weeks. I have a fabulous juicer that would pulverize veggies into a healthy alternative to these sweet protein drinks that are really high in carbs. :-P
  16. Strangely, i'm only a few days in and i'm feeling exactly the same way that you're describing. For example, its 10:15 AM where I live and i've been up since 6. I haven't eaten nor drank anything and i'm not hungry. Strange...

    50&...

Well, yesterday I turned 50& today I started the pre op diet. My surgery date is 10/24 and I must say that i'm optimistic. I'm a revision patient, originally fitted with an unsuccessful Lap band. The band resulted in four additional corrective surgeries. I ended up in the ER where the band had to be removed. My ER surgeon is now my bariactric Dr & one of the best in this field. Lucky me!! I'm optimistic because this time I have a great Dr and i'm much wiser. I've scheduled counseling to deal with all of my "stuff", I plan to start learning yoga, and finally, I'm working on a nutrition overhual. I'm going to attack obesity from all levels. If anyone can lend insight to the counseling, yoga, & nutrition please chime in because i'm open to receive!
  18. The death of my sister at age 53. She was the largest girl of 11 children. Now, i'm that girl & I turned 50 yesterday. Plus, it is so hard to wipe your highny when you are tapping on 300 lbs.
