Surgery Nov. 2nd. Counting my weight from day of surgery (212lbs.) So as of today Dec. 4th .. I've lost 23lbs. I thought the weight would go faster but I'm not going to lie I don't exercise like I should...and I can eat pretty much anything...oddly enough deviled eggs/boiled eggs don't agree with my stomach.I was sleeved 11/14/12 lost 21lbs so far, hit a couple of stalls too, have to keep working on my Water and Protein. Haven't started exercising yet, but I also thought it would go faster. And can also eat anything, sometimes up to 3/4 cup of food.< /p>

Hi everyone. I too am a Nov. 14th sleever. I had the pain my left shoulder right after surgery' date=' but only for the first day. The doc said it was from the air they pumped in me during surgery. My biggest concern is that I was on liquids only for 2 wks. prior to surgery, and I lost 12 lbs., but it all came back after surgery, and today, I'm only down 13 lbs. - it was 3 wks. this past Wed. I know everyone is different, and it's really hard for me to get the Fluid and Protein all in every day. Maybe this is the reason I haven't lost more? I am walking everyday, and people are starting to notice the inches I've lost, but that scale is definitely not my friend.[/quote']I am having same issue hardly hungry but I'm forcing myself to drink Water up to 48oz so far.

I'm having coffee for the first time today....yes' date=' it's caffeinated ....I'm a middle school teacher, its Friday, I'm dragging, the kids are going crazyyyyy!!!!! I hope I do t regret this later in the day.....has anyone drank coffee and had problems? And I'm down 18lbs as of today! I'm excited,,,,it's slow but the scale is moving and that's all I need it to do at this point [/quote']
I've had coffee and had no issues.

Sleeved Nov 14 I have lost 20lbs but I am also in the 3 week stall. Trying hard to get my Water in I drink about 35oz.
Menu
L - egg
D - 1 oz meat
I know I need to eat more and drink more. But I tend to get hungry around 9pm. I'm nauseous a lot of the time. I may vomit at times. Cold other times. My left incision finally stopped hurting on Sunday. I take Colace stool softner. I cannot tolerate Protein shakes I find them toooo sweet.
-
Have you found anything that helps? I'm taking Prevacid daily but thinking about trying pepto bismol or tums...
Nope, I take tums for heart burn and it increases the nausea feeling.
-
Does anyone experience unexplained nausea???? Mostly in the mornings...it's not horrible but I really don't like the feeling...Yes often
-
Down 13.8 since surgery. I'm excited but the loss still seems super slow for me. Maybe I'll start measuring inches....I'm wearing jeans today that I wasn't able to fit before surgery.....looking forward to seeing the numbers on the scale go down' date=' down, and down!!![/quote']
There is no x amount you should be losing. As long as your losing that is all that matters. Every body is different with different health issues and situations. It is frustrating when we compare ourselves to others and they have lost 25+ lbs. The important thing is that we recover from surgery, get healthy and continue weight loss. So lets keep on rocking...best to you.

I've never been an emotional eater, especially since I lived with the lap band. I never knew what to eat because what I would eat today might not go down tomorrow.
I am allowed to eat regular foods but have no appetite. So I will start to force myself to eat, do I could meet my Protein and liquids which I'm not meeting my 1/4 of my goals. Thank you everyone for your continued support and experiences.

Glad to know everyone is doing great. This is a work in progress. I can eat food but not craving it. Sticking with liquids because I know I won't vomit.
-
Glad to hear everyone doing awesome. I am having difficulty drinking all of my Water and Protein. I have the ok from my surgeon to eat food, but since I spent the day vomiting I went back to liquids. My left incision pain has increased, it got infected, it's next to my belly button, so I'm taking antibiotics.
-
Don't worry it will pass. After the nausea you will have to deal with vomiting and the slimies. Burping' date=' hiccuping, nose running, strong smells, stomach cramps and pains but all of this is the healing process and of course everybody is different. These are the things I went through. Not all at the same time and some were short periods. I'm 6mths post op and all I have now is a little burping when I eat or drink too much.[/quote']I'm going through all of that now...except stomach cramps.
-
I started to eat soft foods today...although my doctor gave me the ok to introduce a new food a day. But even if I have one bite...i get nausea and eventually throw up.
-
Today at my post op appointment I asked my surgeon: "Everyone has different size stomachs, how do you know how much to cut?" He said: that he inserts a tube in the stomach and he staples around it, this way all his patients have the same size stomach. He said your sleeve is the size of a hot dog.

my surgery was 11/14' date=' and I have been hungry for about a week now....I think it maybe more in my mind, but not sure. anyone else? [/sub']My hunger kicks in after 9pm. My doctor told me to skip the purée/soft food stage and to start adding one food at a time. It's what I've been waiting for, but, I'm taking it easy.

I was on the 14th and was on mushies for thanksgiving. I feel like I was a me to eat a lot. I'm used to having my band and feeling restriction but I was able to get a cup of mashed potatoes' date=' string Beans, and yams all without no problem. I stopped myself but was looking for restriction. I'm so afraid that something is wrong. I'm looking for a nutritionist for some help next week. [/quote']
I had the band too, I don't feel the restriction, which felt like you were clogged. But I don't feel the hunger that much and I get full with 4oz of liquids.< /p>

How is everyone doing? What food stage are you al on? I'm still on full liquids and ill be cleared for purée/mushies starting Tuesday! Can't wait! The thing that's doing me in is head hunger! My neighbors are cooking the last two days and the smell OMG the smell is driving me crazy!!! Ahhh! Anyone else struggling with head hunger?I am also on full liquids too. My follow up with my surgeon is Monday. Hopefully, I will get the blessing to start soft foods. But anything food I see on TV or smell looks goooood. Even ketchup lol.
Diabetic with Gastric Sleeve, did I chose the wrong surgery?
in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

I got the lap band in July 2010, lost 20lbs and no more. In October 2012, they took the lap band out and in November 2012, I got sleeved. 13 months later, I am still a diabetic and my total weight loss with sleeve was 25lbs. I started my sleeve journey at 246 and now weigh 221. I am thinking that I should've gotten the gastric bypass and I'm considering that option, but my new insurance does not cover bariactric surgery. My surgeon states that my diabetes prevents me from losing weight...I am so frustrated, I tell him will i be the first patient to have all 3 surgeries? DId anyone go through this?
Thanks.
