  1. Hi guys. Okay, I hate to admit it but this is sucking royally. Oh my gosh. Charissa has little nausea but mine seems to be increasing all the time. And I am fairly certain that one of the meds I've been given is making me sick also. I vomited a little shortly after getting meds both yesterday and today. Doctor isn't sure which med so he's going to try changing my antibiotic. Everyone kept saying the day after surgery is sooooo much better but that is far from what I am experiencing. I'm almost starting to regret moving here because I'm not getting any better at all. I can't burp at all. In lots of pain, not just discomfort but pain. I'm sorry this post is such a bummer. I've been reading all these pofrom Dr. Ponce's patients that sounded like people felt better the second day. It has been nice to meet Charissa, though. Hi Charissa. I wish I had your recovery. :)

  2. I am at INT hospital all prepped for surgery and I am next!

We've got find to each other . I'm in room # 302 . It's 5:00 am and I just got another shot of morphine. This gas pain is no joke! I was Dr. Ponce's first surgery at INT at about 10:30. Waking up was horrible. I cried and cried and cried. The gas pain really bad. But then later I walked and walked and walked. We you're up, come by my room during your walk if you feel like it. If I'm passed out from the meds just wake me up.

  3. Bryan,

Here's another thanks for having the courage to bring this up. I wish I had answers for you but I'm yet another who has the same thoughts and concerns. I'm getting sleeved this Friday. Of course, I know I'll miss food to some degree but you brought up the issue of not being able to guzzle a bottle of Water after a good workout which I hadn't really thought a lot about. That feeling of quenching that huge thirst after a great workout is a wonderful feeling. Will we never be able to guzzle water again? How on earth do we keep hydrated after big workouts? Hummmm......

  4. That's cute, SassyGirl! I, too, am wondering if I'd rather have little bit of flab over a great big scar. I guess it will all depend on how much flabby skin is left on my tummy after I lose the weight I plan/want/hope to lose.

I'm wondering also if it's the people who have been really overweight pretty much their entire lives who have the saggy skin issues and perhaps people who used to be more fit but gained weight over, say the past ten years or so, may not have skin that bounces back more. Just wondering...

  5. Oh, okay. I have lots of Aussie friends and now know what a boot and bonnet are but didn't know about writing the dates differently! :^) Okay, I also take prozac and I was told it's fine to take it up until surgery day. As for the others, I don't know but surely your doctor will tell you during your preop appt. Or, you could just call and ask them for peace of mind. Congrats on your upcoming life change. I get my sleeve this Friday. :) What do you do in Saudi?

  6. I have personally had surgery with Dr. Garcia and i have emailed him himself to ask if this information is true.

I'll let you all know if I get an answer. He's never ever had a leak, can't believe he's had a fatality and if he has its because of extenuating circumstances, like the girl who got surgery the same day as me who had done no pre-op and lied to the doctors telling them she'd been fasting when she hasn't!

Wow, SuztheBrit! The girl you met actually lied about her pre-op diet? I'd be too scared to even think of doing that. Did she have any complications that you know of?
