From what I understand it is normal. I have Fluid mixed with blood leaking which started around the 5th day post and it scared the beejeezes out of me. My coordinator assured it was normal and said it could last for up to a couple of weeks. She was right. It finally stopped and I am all healed up. It can be scary to see taht stuff coming out though, I know. Oh and the incision on me that did this was the main one where they pull the stomach out. I was really scared but it all turned out to be fine. Have you called you doctor or coordinator?

beauty - I wish I would lose 30 lbs a month.... my experience says differently. I lost about 20 the first month - and I'm approaching the end of my 2nd month and I have been extremely faithful to the program AND have kicked up my exercise dramatically and have lost 12 lbs so far (with about 5 days to go).... I have also seen others posts and the weight slows down - sort of like slow and steady. My first post op appt. my doc said the first 1/2 of the weight loss (in my case 50 lbs) is from the surgery alone, the last half is from what I do for myself (eating and exercising right). Let me know how the trend continues for you... I guess everyone is different, so I wish you a safe and speedy loss :-)
Looks like we are similar in our weight and loss. How tall are you?

Thanks for the welcome!! I had my surgery at Emory, if anyone has any questions I'll try and answer.
Welcome! I would have loved to have had my surgery at Emory. I live right around the corner from the hospital. My insurance didn't cover WLS so I had to hike it to Mexico. How are you doing?

I told only one of my sisters. I may tell more of my family later on. Haven't really decided. Basically, it's my business and ill darn well tell who I want to tell... Or tell no one at all. Certainly doesn't make me a fraud or a coward. Do what is best for you.

VSGBrandy,
Just google his entire name along with the word "reviews". I think they were on the makemeheal site. Not trying to start rumors or anything and I know one can not believe everything they read online but it is pretty scary. When and where will you have your sleeve done?
-
I read some reviews on another site where a few people wrote that they suspected he allowed his assistant doctor to perform their surgeries. They had no proof, however, one person claimed that he admitted that another doctor performed their surgery. Has anyone heard anything about this?

looks great!!! Congrats on your surgeries and success....I have been trying to get info on Dr. Egaña for a week and cant seem to find any. Who did you contact to get your appointments with him? Was it an agency? Where did you stay for recovery in Mexico? How much was you surgery if you dont mind me asking, i have my sleeve in march and need to start saving for plastics ASAP... Looks great by the way.....
Hi VSGBrandy,
I have the exact smae questions. Did you ever get any info. If so, can you post or pm me? Thanks!

Awwww honey. So sorry you are so scared. Based on the time, I think you are probably post op. Please write when you feel up to it and let us know how you're doing.

The 15th or the 22nd, it all depends on when the income taxes and passport arrive. I looked at the wrong month on my phone calendar and was thinking you had 4 weeks left but you're right. This means I have 3 or 4 weeks left. Yayayayaya. Lol
Can't think of a better way to spend income tax refunds.

AmyT....I am so excited...I was hoping you could go around that time......
When I got sleeved in November, a girl from the board was there also. Infact, she literally went into surgery right after me. It was exciting to finally meet her and be there for each other for support. We were constantly checking on each other. Felt like old friends by the time we left. She's got 5 kids so she doesn't have much time for the board right now but we call each other and text. It's neat to have formed this relationship with her and I'm so glad we went on the same day. Hope you two get to be there at the same time.

Sure does sneak up on you, doesn't it. I know how excited you must be. You'll do great!

The doc decided at the last minute the night before that he wanted to wait a little longer. My Bariatric Surgeon has been doing this a while and he just wanted to give my sleeve a little more time to do what it needed to do.None of the swallow studies or scopes gave any indication there was a problem with the sleeve itself. We waited and watched me eat in hospital and they rehydrated me and he sent me home a couple days later and I had a follow up 2 weeks after that.Things are much better I am just taking it day by day trying to get enough Protein in:)
Phew! God is good! So glad you are better.

I could have had my sister come with me, but I feel the same way. I want to be able to just relax and watch TV and walk around the hotel/hospital without worrying about someone else being bored out of her mind!
Very true. You don't want to have anyone else to worry about while you're there post surgery. You need only to concentrate on yourself.

Planning on going in April! My husband and kids will go w/ me to San Diego for a weekend, and then stay there while I go across for surgery. I don't want my kids going w/ me so I can heal and focus on recovery, so they will all play in San Diego and enjoy the sun. We got passports for everyone, just in case I need them to come across, but I can't imagne that happening.
I think this is a great idea. Your hubby and kids cxan have a little fun in California while you have your surgery. Terrific planning.

Oh yes, that's right. I forgot about the odor thing. If there is no foul odor, you're probably in good shape. Congrats on your new sleeve!
