    Perth Sleevers?

That's is so inspiring, and I am so happy for you:) do you mind sharing how you went in the earlier weeks? I'm really struggling with this purée diet thin and have started seriously sneaking in normal food... Granted I only have 1 week of purée left to go, I'm just surprised that I can mane it with no issues plus I now feel like I am hungry all the time?? Like iv stretched my pouch whereas before I could survive hours in between the liquid shakes and stuff??? Is this normal or have I messed something up already.....Hi yummy mummy, thankyou so much :)The first few weeks were hard, I remember the first night in hospital after I had it done I would of killed for a ham sandwich with bowl of pumpkin Soup haha..I honestly believe there is no way you have ruined it so dont stress about that when you say normal food what do you mean? How many weeks out are you? I don't really remember what I ate but I know there was some trying times where I did sneak a bite of my children's food and would chew it until my jaw hurt! If you body is asking for more and sleeve excepting it you should be fine just make sure you don't touch the naughty foods just yet or pushing the limit if foods you def shouldn't be touching(steak, bread ect) longer you stay away from sweets the better your tolerance will be! I still to this day feel sick if I have more then I should I junk like chocolate chips ect, my sleeve hates maccas thankgod it feels like I'm swallowing a sponge lolMy biggest motivation was the fear of doing damage to my stomach, I was petrified of leak!!Please don't let me scare you that's what's going to happen cause you ate something a bit soon but that's what helped me stay in track..now it's still my fear that helps me to stay eating well but it's a fear of weight gain. It will be hard for awhile but eventually you will see food as fuel and when you can eat more you will realise why we are so over weight the portion sizes that out society has made us think is normal is crazy! I survive on eating as much or less then my 4yo would at a meal, always serve my food up on a bread and butter plate eating my meat and veg first then carb if still hungry. i will still have a little bit if dessert alot of the time but i have an even smaller serve then my kids or just a bite so I can still have treats and enjoy food but it doesn't rule my life anymore.Your still very early out so Water is very important, right now it's a mental challenge and you have the fear of doing wrong which is good as your conscious of your old habits meaning you wont slip back into them. Keep doing what your doing and if the hunger hits have a nibble of something healthy there's nothing wrong with that, itl keep your metabolism moving.Sorry for the novel lol but ask away I'm happy to answer any questions

    Perth Sleevers?

Hi, I'm from perth too! Was sleeve Nov 2012 and down 52kg. I hate hate hate exercise so apart from running around after my 2 little ones I don't do anything! I still don't have much of a appetite so do have to pay attention to what I eat so I don't get to weak..Ive suffered gallstones and acute pancreatitis due to such a dramatic weightloss. After all that though this is the best thing I've ever done, I'm now 60kg and people who meet me and I tell them cannot believe I used to be so much bigger

    Dr Dolan, Perth, Australia?

Oh no sorry to hear that, I have major resistance my stomach doesn't like sweets or junk much at all nowadays I get I'll when I eat to much. I do still haven't got the strong hunger hormone so I do have weeks where I have to watch what I eat so I don't actually loose anymore. In saying all this though I do tire very easily and have suffered with gallstones and acute pancreatitis during my time. Really hope the loop bypass does the trick for you.

Hi yes I don't really go on much..how have you gone with your recovery?? I'm down from 112 to 60kg very happy!!
  6. Hi just wandering whether coffee is ok during the liquid stage post op? Hubby was having one today and I wanted one so bad but he is wrapping me up in Cotten wool and doesn't think I'm allowed one? I had my surgery 5 days ago, eating fruit smoothies, homemade soup & V8 juice ATM I can have yoghurt, milk, custard whatever you can suck through a straw (hypothetically) so I know the liquid part of coffee is fine just didn't know about the caffeine? Thanks

    Dr Dolan, Perth, Australia?

Oh i know how you feel I was really scared and excited beforehand, not know what to expect! You will be fine will wake from surgery in a bit of pain but just make sure you don't hesitate to ask for pain relief! I was actually a bit surprised at how quickly the pain side subsided. I had a bit of nausea that was prob the worst thing for me, having babies was much worse lol. How long after you have had the sleeve do you come back to Australia? That will be so nice for you suprising everyone with your weightloss!!
  11. How long post op until you started normal food, by normal food I mean eating salads, cooked chicken, salad sandwiches, cooked veg, crackers with toppings ect? I know when I get to that stage it'll only be small amounts just want to know how long it took some of you to get to that stage where the worry was on the healthy side of it not is this soft enough? and how much you were eating?? Thanks
  12. Thanks, it's amazing how different everyone's diet is! I'm taking it slow as my stomach is quite sensitive I nearly threw up after eating a piece of really soft cheese, plus I have hubby being very overprotective not wanting me to eat something and cause a leak or other problems, surgery was hard for him he was so scared something bad would happen poor man. So even though I'm on soft foods I'm sitting here having an up & go protein drink for breaky, cannot wait to eat meat properly again to boost my energy levels or go out for lunch and have a salad!
  13. Wow 2weeks, my surgeon has me on soft foods at the moment and im 2 weeks out now, but I'm not going to see him or the Nut for 8 weeks so I should be normal foods before then, how did you know you we're ready apart from the surgeon giving the go ahead? Did you just try a food and if it didn't hurt or come back up its ok?
  14. Thanks everyone I might hold of for a few weeks, just in case..it's not like I could drink much now anyways I can only fit in about half a cup fluids at most when I'm having a snack
  15. Thanks IsB, I think il stay away from coffe then for awhile as I'm still struggling to get all fluids down
  16. Awesome well done!! I can't for next summer to wear shorts again :)
