    Dr Dolan, Perth, Australia?

Hi supportedhalf, I am out came out yest, dr Dolan said I would be ok to come out on Wednesday but I opted to stay one more night to rest before I came home to the kids! Very happy I did gave me more time to sleep Dr Dolan is fabulous! I went in at 4pm and was out a couple hours later, woke in recovery in a lot of pain, kept harassing nurses for pain relief, they gave me something in recovery but was still in pain when I got to my room so kept pushing for more so they gave me morphine and that done the job after about 15minutes and I was out cold for a couple hours, waking needing the loo which I was repeatedly doing through the night due to the drip :) Nurses give you plenty of pain relief just make sure you ask for it, all in all the worst part was waking up in recovery OUCH! And the leak test the following day YUCK! I'm feeling good now though no pain, get a bit gassy sometimes and need to hiccup it out. I was sent home with tramadole pain killers but only used them last tie before bed, used neurofen once today. food going down painlessly (nutritional Fluid stage) just learning about what I can have and how much. Dolan has done a great job in my books and the staff at glengarry were fabulous. I'm down 8kg since the start of preop! Going back to see him on Wednesday. Have you got all your Optifast ready for preop next week?

    Dr Dolan, Perth, Australia?

I didn't get time to see the dietician before hand as she was busy apparently but Dr Dolan put me on optifast for 2 weeks and I was given information on it and also what I can eat afterwards. So for the last 2 weeks I'm allowed 2 optifast shakes a day and a optifast bar or 3 shakes a day depending whether I wanted a bar or not, plus 2 cups of allowed cooked veggies and a piece of fruit. Can drink water, black tea, low joule cordial. After the first few days I stopped eating as much though the hunger subsided, I'm down 5kgs ( have been naughty and not exercising though :-/ )

    November 19Th- Officially

Yay I'm Nov 19th too! Hating the food commercials this liquid diet is taking its toll! I'm 4kg down (think that's about 8lb) Cannot wait till Monday :)
  4. Hi have been following this forum for awhile now and finally have my date Nov 19th so thought I'd drop a line. I'm 25yo girl been struggling mentally with my weight since I was 13 when y nana told me I had muffin tops in my bathing suit ( I was only 46kg) she was a big women who had in one slight comment passed on an obsession with weight with one tiny comment! Amazing and unsettling how easily people can influence you! I started gaining weight when I was 18 and had various eating disorders/depression over the years until I had my beautiful children who through pregnancy I would not do anything silly to my body. After I've had both kids I gave up was tired of fighting a losing battle and began to focus on the kids until I was at the play centre with my toddler one day and all the thin mummy's were playing with there toddlers on the jumping castle and climbing frame and my little girl was lingering around them trying to be involved, completely broke my heart! So here I am for me and my kids to change my life, hope I didn't bore you all :-/
  5. Thank you so much rose hips this gives me so much hope!! That must be such a wonderful feeling every 2 weeks I'm so happy for you. I'm struggling big time on pre op, it's not the hunger or the taste of Optifast as I don't mind it! The cravings kill me as food is my emotional outlet especially when kids are going haywire on me. Need to find a new outlet!?
  6. Ii know I so cannot wait to be a yummy mummy running around with my cherubs instead of sitting on the sidelines all the time!! Great what a fantastic birthday present for yourself!! How are you going with you pre op diet?
  7. Hi alisha29, thanks for your reply! Yes we do need to be very careful what we say to our children, I never moan about my weight or call myself fat around my kids as I don't want them thinking anything from it I just want them to grow up eating normally not thinking about what foods should or shouldn't be eating all day everyday..it's exhausting! Glad to hear you got away from the laxatives it's very hard to give up an addiction and not take up another e.g food Have you found the sleeve has helped with cravings? These are my biggest demons now and fighting constantly everyday to not eat bad things and losing often
