I don't see how anyone gets under 600 with getting all your protein in. I'm 3 weeks out and am at 600-700 calories a day. That's with eating high protein food and milk and I still only get about 60-70 g of protein.

I felt totally normal after 3 weeks. If I had a desk job I probably could have handled going back to work after a week. It all depends on how well you recover. Everyone's recovery is so different. Please don't get the lap band. I have met several people who have had it done and none were successful. I'm not saying nobody is successful with the lap band, I just haven't met anyone who was. Plus just having that foreign thing in your body is just weird to me!

Me! I'm in a stall right now. I didn't even think about being because of pureed foods but it did start when I started them I'm 3 weeks out and I have gained one pound in the last five days!

I've had a lot of drainage too! I guess its normal.

A lot of people on the forum say isolate absorbs better than the blend, but I can't find any info online about that. Where did this info come from? I'd like to read about it. Thanks!

I have read it absorbs faster but can't find info on absorbing better. I had my surgery in MX and don't have a Nutritionist. Just wondering if it's true. Weird there's no info online about that.

Less than four weeks from surgery and my husband makes a snide remark about me spending so much money on an unnecessary surgery. I'm sick......the one person I need support from won't give it to me. He's tall and skinny and will never understand. If I even try to explain I can feel him judging me. Thinking I'm lazy with no self control. He doesn't know that my weight is the source of everything I can't do. It's on my mind 24/7 and has been since my earliest memory. I have been overweight all of my life. I have NEVER felt good about myself. I want to be normal. I want it so bad it hurts. He just doesn't care. I'm going through with it anyway....and I refuse to let him make me feel guilty about it. Right now I am choosing me.

I can tell you from experience that being obese and pregnant is hard! With both pregnancies I had high blood pressure and got over 300 pounds I was extremely depressed after my first one because I wad so heavy and I decided to get the surgery 7 weeks after my second child and I feel amazing! Both of my sons were born early and were very small but healthy thank God! I'd recommend getting healthy first.

You may want to think about cutting it. With it being long, the weight pulls it down and all the styling factors don't help. I lost a lot of hair after having a baby and unfortunately cutting my hair short helped. I'll probably have to do that again because I just had another baby and the sleeve. My hair is doomed!

Thanks to everyone for the support! Just thought I'd update. Since surgery, my husband has been great! I think he was super scared about me going to MX and having surgery and blamed money instead of expressing emotions. When I came home his attitude totally changed. And now that I'm 23 pounds down, he can't keep his hands off of me and compliments me all the time! I'm so happy I stood my ground and went ahead with the surgery. I was so serious about this that I probably would have left him if he gave me an ultimatum.

One of my incisions has opened! It's not oozing or anything but it's a hole. Should I leave it alone? If I use steri strips now will it trap in bacteria? I've been sleeved for three weeks and it was closed covered by a scab. It just opened a few days ago.

It's not deep just open and its freaking me out! No sign of infection.

I'm not sure if it's normal but my personal experience is I get full from 2 oz of Chobani. I'm 2 and a half wks out

Unfortunately there is no way to lose weight from a specific area, only gain muscle. Try different cardio workouts.

Maybe it was water aerobics? Why assume wls? I've lost 50 pounds in 4 mos before without wls.

Oh and today I'm making guacamole which is my fave!

I'm new to this stage too. So far, I've had Refried Beans with a little cheese and sour cream pureed chicken with cream of mushroom Left over chicken from above with verde enchilada sauce Tuna fish with a hard boiled egg and onion pureed topped with Frank's hot sauce Cottage cheese with pureed canned peaches So far all has been good!

I have a plastic water bottle with a straw and have drank from that since surgery. No problems.

The clinic is really small and in a shopping center...I think that was the most shocking to everyone. I already knew before arriving a.d thought it was no big deal. When you arrive they take your blood and do an EKG. Then hook you up to IV. The person with the lowest BMI goes first. The group I went with didn't seem to even need surgery! They were all just a little over weight which made me question Dr Almanza's intentions. Seems a little money hungry. Anyway I went last so I had to wait all day. After surgery, I woke up in a dark room....the door was open so they kmew I woke up. Then I had to walk upstairs to a room with another patient. That was the worst night for me. I had gas pain and couldn't sleep. The following nights you are in a hotel which was 55 dollars a night. The nurses are there and they take good care of you. On the second day they take you back to get fluids in your IV. Bring gas strips because we all jad horrible pain from sitting so long. On the third day you get fluids again and the drain removed. I was terrified but I didn't even feel it so don't worry. The following morning they take you back to San Diego. The whole time they supply ypu with popsicles, juice, broth and water. The nurses are all handsome! Edwardo is a punk though, he's very rude and doesn't smile. Everyone else is awesome! You go home with stitches. I chose to take mine out by myself on the 11th day. You also get antibiotics. Take them every 12 hrs until gone so you don't get an infection. Oh and my incisions did open a little. I just kept them clean and dry and they scabbed over by the end of the day. The only thing I didn't like about the whole thing was having stitches!

I found a milk that has 12 grams of protein ( HEB store brand) and I eat greek yogurt with only one shake a day. Pureed meat or beans for lunch and dinner. I get about 60-70 grams of protein a day. I pureed chicken with green enchilada sauce last night. It was really good! I've only tried chicken so far.

That is so crazy!!! I'm sorry you had to go through that, Iggy. I'm glad you're doing better.

Iggy did did you have a leak five weeks out or that's how long it took the doc to fix it? When did you discover your leak? I'm a little over two weeks out and a leak is my biggest fear!!
