who cares if it is the easy way out?

Oh so many easy ways out. I call it being smart and efficient. Those who say it's an easy way out are jealous they can't take the same measures or ignorant to the struggles of weightloss.

I would like to see your " most have" foods.

Love this! I'm 16 months out and trying to get back on track here! Great food ideas! Some of mine are: Black olives String cheese eggs High Fiber oatmeal Fiber One bars Salmon Spring mix salad with mozzarella, tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, and olives Lentils or 15 bean Soup Raw almonds that I roast myself Sauteed spinach.... seriously with every meal....I have a problem lol

    Heartburn

I'm 16 months out and have horrible heartburn if I don't take my PPI. I never had it before surgery. Looks like this may be a permanent thing. If you can, get a prescription it's so much cheaper than over the counter. I pay less than five dollars for a month's supply.
  5. It's been long journey so far and I realize the battle will never be over. I have an addictive personality and so many times I've said it's time to get serious only to fall back into old habits. I've lost 106 pounds and haven't lost an ounce in about 6 months. I'm happy with my weight now but according to "the norms" I should be at least 25 pounds lighter. I'm 5`8 and 190 pounds, wearing a size 12. The problem is, I've started nursing school which is far more stressful than I could have ever imagined. I stress eat. Literally all day. I haven't gained any weight but we all know that won't last long. I'm probably losing muscle and from the lack of sleep and exercise, I'm exhausted! My health is going downhill and I feel fatigued and icky! I signed back on to MFP today and deleted all my friends. I'm more honest this way. I'm going to track everything and analyze my habits. I want all the newcomers to know how easy it is to fall back into old habits. How important it is to make conscious decisions about what your eating every single day. WLS doesn't mean you'll be fail proof. After a year, its was really easy to eat around the sleeve. For me anyway.

    My Fitness Pal.....Sabatoging me?

If you're in maintenance and it's working. .... maybe you need those calories. Maybe plan those calories in each meal throughout the day so you don't feel out of control.
  7. A coworker of mine tried to cover it up but it's not hard to figure it out. Out for surgery. ... come back losing weight....people are going to put the two together and probably talk. Either way, it's something you're going to have to deal with.

    My rant update (dh)

I came to see how you were doing. Thanks for the update! I'm happy to hear things are going smoothly. I know it can't be easy but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. You and your family are in my thoughts. Sending positive vibes your way!

    Hunger

I see a lot of people saying they don't feel hungry anymore just an empty feeling. What's the difference between feeling hungry and feeling "empty"?
  11. I had many NSVs but it wasn't until about 10 months out that I felt significantly smaller. Even now, everyone sees me as thin but I still feel like I could lose about 30 more pounds. The mind is a funny thing!

    Pain compared to c section?

Sleeve was worse for me too but so worth it!
  13. Im over a year out abd that's never happened. BUT many years ago when I did the Atkins diet, it happened a few times!

I'm having a bit of a tough time

Do you exercise? For me it's fun to set a goal and achieve it. I hate being bored and don't allow it! With exercise, you can always change it up and you feel so much better about your body. I got Brazilian Butt Lift workouts for Christmas and I'm so excited for the challenge! Just a suggestion......
  15. Nothing was a slider for me until about 8 months out. Chips are very easy to eat too much of now. It's a dangerous game testing the sleeve and relying solely on it. When you're able to eat more after about six months, you'll wish you had started making those life changes sooner. I've had days where I eat crap every 2 hours......it's the addict in me that is finding ways around the sleeve. Be very careful. At two months out it should be easy to resist because the novelty hasnt worn off yet. But this struggle is lifelong.
  16. Me!!!! Since yesterday! Lol

    Didn't work for me.

You got sleeved 30 pounds from goal, lost 15 and need 15 more to goal? Is that correct? I need to lose 25 to get to my goal and I've only lost 10 pounds in the last 4-5 months. It gets harder to lose the closer you are to your goal weight. It does seem like you can eat a lot. Did the doc say anything about making the sleeve larger due to scar tissue from the band?

    My lesson...

I know the feeling. Last night I ate 2 chocolate chip cookies and felt like I had the flu! I'm a year out! I'm grateful I my little stomach can't handle so much sugar but boy was I sick! Lesson learned!

    *Gastric sleeve diet* (without surgery)

I'm not saying it can't be done but less than 5% of people who diet and exercise alone are successful at keeping the weight off. I don't think it's possible to eat like a sleever without the sleeve. You'll be starving yourself. I eat 2-3 oz of protein and about 1/4 cup of a side for a meal.

    Feeling Guilty

What?!?! First of all, congratulations! Second, your friend should be happy for you! I would be totally jealous if I was your friend too, but I'd never let you know that! Lol. Please don't feel guilty. You had resources that you utilized. Anyone, including your friend would have done the same thing!
  21. I'm 13 months out and still experiencing all of that lol!

    Feeling so defeated

I'm so sorry you and you're mom are going through this. I really do hope y'all find a solution. I agree, get a second opinion. They probably just have no clue how the surgery would affect you. You both will be in my thoughts.
  23. I would say, "No, our relationship was based entirely on my fat body." What the hell kind of question is that?!?!?!
  24. I had a baby in September of last year then the sleeve in November and gallbladder removal in June!
