  1. I just had mine out last month, 8 months post sleeve. It was done laproscopically and recovery was a breeze!
  2. I'm on my second month long stall right now. In 9 months I've lost 90 pounds. I knew once I was close to being under 200 pounds my weight would stall. Sure enough, I've been stuck at 205 since the last week of June! 90 pounds is a lot of freakin weight though. I'm very happy! I'm content knowing I'll never be 100 pounds overweight again!

    I need Advice!

I also want to add that me and my two brothers who are also obese graduated from Cy-Springs, a highschool in Cypress Texas and were never bullied.

    I need Advice!

If my mom didn't have frozen dinners, little Debbie's, Cheetos, hot dogs, etc in the house with the freedom to eat whatever and when ever I wanted, I probably wouldn't be in this situation. Veggies and fruit were completely foreign to me as a kid. Leading by example can work especially when you have kids who have no control over what foods are kept in the house. I think OP is feeling guilty of what her daughter has become. My dad did and offered to pay for lapband when I was 18. I knew then I wasn't ready for anything like that! I agree this surgery isn't going to fix anything but her size. Teens of any size can have issues with low self esteem, depression, promiscuity, being bullied, etc.

    I need Advice!

This is tough. Especially since you've already prepared her for surgery. Of she's as passionate about having it done as I was, it would crush her to turn back now. I personally think you should have had the surgery first then her after a year or so. She may have followed your lifestyle changes and y'all could have exercised together. She may have not even needed surgery. She's a kid. I was probably her weight by 14 too. I can't imagine doing this at that age and my recovery was easy physically and mentally. 14 is also the time I experienced with drugs and alcohol. A crossover addiction could have easily happened. Good luck either way. I am praying for your family!

    Me today

Girl, you need to pull your head out of your ass! Look at those collar bones. Those tiny arms. That thin face. To me you look accomplished. Like your fighting the battle and not giving up! I don't see where 20 pounds could even come off. See the new you! We all do.

    6flags weight blaming

Blame shouldn't be placed on her weight but on those regulating the ride if it was due to her being too big ride safely. If a worker told me it only needed to be clicked once, I'd probably trust that.
  11. So true! I bought a Bodymedia fit. It has actual sensors on it to calculate calories burned throughout the day. What I've learned is that I burn a lot slower than average. During a 20 minute circuit training workout, I burn 250 calories. If I used MFP or another online calculator, it would say I should have burned 350-400 calories! Our bodies are all different. I've lost 0 pounds in the last month but lost 2 inches in my waist! I'll take it!
  12. Paul you're not an A hole! From reading the posts on this forum, I've come to the realization that some people just don't get it. Maybe they haven't researched nutrition obsessively like I have. Maybe they 100% rely on the surgery and don't understand that success depends on the choices we make . This forum needs people like you and those who have experience for knowledge and enlightenment. I've learned to offer my knowledge and move on. If someone wants to argue, they aren't getting a response back from me. I want everyone to be successful too. Keep offering what you can! It's priceless! Take care!

    Looking deflated!

Yes! My arms seriously make me want to cry! The have stretch marks too so I know they aren't going to get better!
  15. It's stretched skin. The faster you lose weight, the harder it is for your skin to catch up. Over time collagen fibers repair themselves and tightens the skin some or completely. It just depends on how well your elasticity can regenerate, how big you were, how long you've been overweight, etc.
  16. I had to stop exercising due to having my gallbladder removed and it took about a month for me to get back on track. The scale has gone up a few pounds but I look and feel better. A lot of people are commenting on my weight loss. I would recommend starting but stay away from the scale for a few weeks.
  17. I was pear shaped and my lower half is losing way faster than the rest! I've lost 11 inches from my hips and only 6 in the waist! Crazy!

    Quinoa!

Not for me. I can eat about 1/2 cup if that's all I'm eating. I made the Mediterranean one the other day. It was delish!

    Artificial sweeteners and Health

That's what I've always heard too. I use truvia in my coffee.
  20. I've never thought about, considered, or worried about this "honeymoon phase" people talk about! I don't care how slow or fast I'm losing. I'm not gaining and that's all I care about! Every single day I'm conscious about what I eat and I'm working on getting physically fit. Sleeved life is good!
