  1. The first pic was taken last year somewhere in Oregon. I was over 400 lbs. The second was today...248 lbs. either way I've got my trusty sidekicks Wrigley and Junior. It's been great and I could not be happier about the results. There have been some tough times but nothing that wasn't worth it. I've followed a pretty basic and simple plan. Eat as much Protein as I can. Workout every day' date=' and mix it up. I don't do the same thing 2 days in a row. Make it fun. Drink as much Water as I can. Stay away from things that are going to tempt me. And if I have a bad day, or miss a workout or eat something I shouldn't, I don't feel bad. If I stall for a week....or 4....no problem. I still do what I need to do day in and day out. Eventually good things will happen. I'm healthier than I ever thought possible. I got life by the tail.

    Great job! Thanks for sharing.

  2. I couldn't eat anything until the day after surgery. Not to worry though because you will not feel any hunger. For the next 2 days I was on a liquid diet (just broth, Jello & tea/water). From day 3 until my 2 week check up I was on stage 2 of the liquid diet which included yogurt, mashed potatoes, creamy Soups and a few other items that I can't remember but they should all be in the handbook Hope that helps a little.

  3. I'll be going in to Kaiser in South San Francisco on November 21 with Dr Robert Li. Excited' date=' scared, lots of emotions. I go in for my final pre-ops next Tuesday.

Best wishes to you. SSF Kaiser is known to be the 'Bariatric Guru'. Nothing to worry about. The surgery is only about 45 minutes and then the journey begins. Since Oct 3rd I've lost 25 lbs and couldn't be happier. It will be the best thing you ever did. :)

  4. I'm scheduled for surgery Monday with Dr. Kyack. Has anyone else had their procedure done at South SF Kaiser? If so' date=' how was your experience?[/quote']

I was sleeved on Oct 3rd by Dr. David Le. He was amazing. I know the OR nurse that assists both drs and she says that they are both incredible. She mentioned that Dr. Khayat is new to Kaiser but that he uses a new simpler technique that the other drs have also picked up and it's been an amazing experience for all the patients. I can honestly say that I had a great experience and no complications whatsoever. Didn't have to do any pre-op liquid diets that many seem to mention here. Only a light dinner the night before the surgery. Best of luck to the both of you :).

Snack: 12 baby carrots with dill dip 130 cals, 1 yogurt 150 cals. Dinner: 3oz of meatloaf with ketchup, 1/2 cup of veggies and a couple bites of potatoe, 400 cals. Dessert: real fruit bar Popsicle: 100 cals and popcorn 200 cals.[/quote']

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like my diet pre-op :). Do you know if your doctor gave u a larger sleeve? I couldn't imagine eating that much but I'm only 4 weeks out. Btw, I thought we couldn't have popcorn !?!

  6. I was sleeved yesterday. how long does your belly feel sore? Did you have trouble getting your liquids in the first few pre/ op days?

Congrats on the new sleeve. I was sore for about 4 days and then good from there. The Water intake was hard but I made it a goal to drink 3 16.9oz Water bottles a day by sipping all day long. You can add crystal light or Torani Syrup as they help make the water not feel so thick and heavy. I'm going on week 4 and its so much easier now. This week especially feels 'normal' for me.
