  1. I was scared to eat Jello lol I skipped my clear liquid phase and just started full liquids yesterday. I was terrified but I'm telling you, that was the best tasting baby spoonful of $2.00 canned Soup you will EVER taste
  2. I was sleeved on Monday, how do you guys take your vitamins? I can either get my fluid or my vitamins but no way can I stomach both. I start vomiting and get SUPER dehydrated
  3. I can finally do this! My surgery was Monday morning and I weighed 273. Today I'm at 263 -10lbs
  4. Think I'm the only person on here that doesn't hate it so early post op. In fact, it's the only thing I can drink right now that doesn't taste unbearable. Tomorrow I'll try a protein shake but I've tried Gatorade, mio, crystal light, you name it I've tried it and diluted it and it's still too sweet. Am I alone in my tolerance for plain water?
  5. I had my surgery on Monday morning and had mild gas pains in my chest Monday night and hardly any since. I thought gas would be much worse. Be careful swallowing though, if I sip too big I get a sharp pain in the middle of my chest just beneath my sternum
  6. Good luck ladies! You're in my thoughts. Im not having the earliest recovery because of esophageal spasms. Drink! I have a timer set every 20 minutes to remind me to get down 2oz. I am not thirsty at all so drinking is hard but make yourself! You ladies have got this!
  7. I'm having some strong esophageal spasms but I'm on my way home anyhow. It's hard to drink when you don't feel thirsty. Surgeon said my operation was textbook perfect, my immediate recovery however....different story.
  8. On my way home now. Having bad esophageal spasms and trouble remembering to drink since I don't feel thirsty. Good luck everybody else!
  9. Today's the day! I'm on my way to the hospital as we speak!
  10. Same here. I go under the knife at 9:45. You?
  11. There is no guarantee a sleeve will diminish hunger pains and anyone that's smart enough to research would know that. Even if you have hunger doesn't make the surgery a "waste" of money. And at a day or so out I seriously doubt anyone with a swollen stomach feels hungry. True hunger anyway. I never said anyone had the mind of an infant but the new stomach of one. And as far as insulting, I believe you're the only one that did that when you jumped to insinuating that EVERYONE on this board that disagrees with you is wrong.... OP, try fluids, gas x strips, etc. If you're still hungry try some Isopure liquid, the taste is far from pleasant, but 20 oz has 40g of Protein and it should help curb the hunger for a bit, with the bonus of protein to help you heal and 20 oz of your daily fluids according to my NUT that's a third of my minimum daily goal. I'm telling ya, it's not the best, it left my tongue feeling funny but it's really helping me on my clear liquid diet. GNC also has another brand of a similar product keep us posted!
  12. Sansa I don't care if you're an adult or not, anyone new to the sleeve is new to feeling sensations dealing with the stomach. Her stomach is only 5-10 weeks out if I remember her post correctly. So that HAS NOTHING TO DO with adulthood because she now has a newborn stomach. So in cases such as the OP's hunger may be hunger, but hunger so strong should be treated first a thirst, then checked into as a reflux problem, reflected on as head hunger, and then after the previous are dealt with it, considered real hunger. And I just woke up, so back to bed for me. EDIT: She's MUCH newer than I thought. So after you just fed a newborn plenty and it started crying would you feed it again? No, you burp it, check it's diaper, etc. She hasn't had time to learn what hunger with a sleeve feels like.
  13. I think there's 0 chance anyway for a little guy to swim through 4 layers of clothes and all the way to the uterus lol however if they remove the clothes, a prophylactic wouldn't be a bad idea at all
  14. We're on the same day! My jitters are more like rolling waves of panic haha. We can do this!! Keep me posted on how you're doing after surgery!
  15. My surgery is Monday and of all the posters I've come to know on this board, Iggy had been te MOST helpful. She's real and brings reality to some of these sugary sweet posts. What help would be able to offer the OP if we hadn't heard of all the complications like hers? She had been insanely supportive on these boards. Sleeveforme, you need to actually READ what she's posted and stop selectively quoting her out of context. Realism is more important than any over the top optimism that will lead my fellow pre-op friends into something life altering thinking its all sunshine and rainbows.
  16. No...you'll be fine. But be careful in the future.
  17. I am so happy for you!!! And I think I'll end up doing what you did. Today was the first time I fought a craving I thougt was going to get the best of me and it was entirely stress related. But I can see myself stressing after something post op, taking a couple drags, and thinking "why on Earth did I ever spend so much money on this junk?" lol I'm proud of you! Keep working it!!
  18. Thanks you guys. I'm very aware of how ridiculous my anxiety makes me think, and how much it makes me act like a fool lol. I think it'd be easier if I was oblivious and just thought my crazy reactions were normal I really appreciate your words. I've done 6 months of pre-op stuff and months of researching before that, I know I want and more importantly NEED this, it's just scary. Oh well, between Xanax and stress induced sleeping I think Monday will be here and gone before I know it
  19. My surgery was rescheduled for Monday, which is a few days earlier than originally scheduled. This happened today and I can't stop crying. I'm exhausted and can't sleep because I know when I do I'll be that much closer. I knew this would happen, it's my cycle of panic disorder, but I thought I'd be able to tune it out. I also started spotting today...awesome timing for emotional crap right? Any advice to get me through my 2 clear liquid days, the tears, and fears?
  20. It's similar but more sleeve specific from everything I've gathered on here the pouch test is for a rny pouch. But boot camp is aimed to get back some restriction
  21. I had Anthem and called them Monday morning and they had just received my info for review. My came in my BDR Monday AFTERNOON and said they wanted to do my surgery THURSDAY! That was too soon so they scheduled it for next Wednesday, which has now been rescheduled to MONDAY morning :/ so after my last NUT appt to my approval was 2 business days. good luck! Keep us informed
