I went to Schneck is Seymour, IN. Dr. Cooper.
  2. Glad to hear this!! I was worried and very glad your surgeon is on it! Mine came to the ER at 2 a.m. to look at my scans and when they found the abscesses they scheduled emergency surgery at 5 the next morning, which was a Saturday or Sunday! Thank God for surgeon's that see patients and not dollar signs!!
  3. My doctor (and common sense) recommends two forms of birth control, one definite barrier method. Estrogen is stored in fat cells, you break those down and estrogen gets released in your body, cranking up your fertility, as well as thinning your hair. In the first 18months after surgery there is a high risk of neural tube defects in pregnancy. I use condoms, and a no-estrogen (and it's saving my hair) pill. No problems (though I did have Mirena once and would never recommend it to anyone!)

    Orange juice

My nut and my personal experience says water it down a bit and you'll be fine
  5. Chest pain was my one and only leak symptom. Call your doc ASAP or run to the ER PLEASE. Run, don't walk. It could be something small but waiting isn't worth the risk of waiting (one month in the hospital as opposed to an ER bill). Hope it's nothing big. Keep up posted.

    Calcium

How much do you get in a day as opposed to what your surgeon recommends? I'm having a very hard time scheduling my iron and calcium into a routine. Early on it was no big deal because my life revolved around everything sleeve. Now hitting some normality, I'm struggling getting it all. My iron levels are ok and I'd love to avoid adding another supplement, but the time spacing with iron and calcium is killing me!

RogueX, where in Indiana are you? And don't be scared, everybody at one time has experienced "buyer's remorse." You're not alone

  10. So glad to hear this! If you're worried about a bowel movement add some benefiber or miralax to your Water. Most other things cause colon spasms and make you use abdominal muscles that don't wanna be moved after being cut on. And take a pillow or stuffed animal with you to hold tight against your stomach when you try to go, the pressure keeps your stitches intact. So happy you're feeling better!
  11. Hey, I'm in the office for my 6 month check-up, how is everything?
  12. I'll be there in neon green tonight! And have you tried any Protein supplements yet?
  13. My mom's on much less medication, but she makes up for that cost with all the supplements! Buy vitamins in bulk, it saves
  14. My budget is pretty much the same. Except instead of eating my money now, I throw it away. If I eat out, I bring home leftovers that I just don't want to eat again. Healthier food is expensive and unless I eat the same thing several times in a row, product ends up going bad before I eat it.
  15. I'm losing weight and am almost halfway to goalishness. I never really set a firm number. I'd like to be somewhere weight appropriate for my height and age, but mostly whatever looks and feels comfortable to me. I'd love to have the perfect BMI and weigh 130 but it still seems far fetched to me. If I was dead set on a number I probably would have opted for roux-en-y. Do I think it was worth it? Eehhhh sometimes haha. It gets better to be comfortable with decision over time. Right now I hate it evade my tonsils are massive and I can't take ibuprofen to help. I'm happy with the weightloss, I'm happy I've had only a few instances of low blood sugar since my surgery, and for the most part I'm happy with my portion control. I miss ibuprofen, I don't like feeling full so I don't eat as much as I should in one meal but rather spread it out through the day which is probably a large contributing factor to my slow losing, and I'm a bit of a hypochondriac now according to my mom. I like to think of it as VERY aware of my body now I did all the classes and appointments and things and even researched 6 months before my 6 month waiting period and everyday up until surgery. I don't recommend this to anyone that doesn't feel like they're somewhat a sleeve expert because they've read so much. I knew about the complications and wish I knew what to expect in more black an white terms. There are lots of different treatments talked about on here but not Coop's leak method. I think I was his first sleeve leak actually. He wasn't even sure what to do initially. He knows now! For the most part I'm fine with my decision. I'm not one of the people on here that would do it again in a heartbeat! But I'd consider it again for sure. I'll be going to support group Monday, will you be there?

2 months I was still very drained but I don't know how much of that was complication related. My mother had no complications and was exhausted for about 8-10 weeks. It's a tough call! I don't envy you there! Knowing what I went through, I wouldn't, honestly. But I was in the hospital for a month for a leak from a faulty staple. Crazy slim chance. But when we weren't sure if I'd make it we discussed getting married in the hospital Statistically, you'll be fine!
  17. It takes a lot more than I thought it would...but it comparison to what it used to take before, the amount is tiny. I can stomach WAY more than the 8 oz they promised before surgery. But I make sure to measure my food so it's not too much. Now my mother on the other hand had the switch, and makes what I eat look massive.
